i am a queer chicana and i am afraid to come out and tell my family and friends. i trust my parents and they trust me, they’re like friends to me. i tell them everything but, i simply cannot tell them this one thing. why should that be ? if i have so much trust for them, why can’t i tell them ? why ? i’m scared of letting them down, i’m scared of disappointing them, i’m scared that they won’t want to hear about me or from me, i’m scared that they won’t trust me like they do, i’m scared i’ll break the fun friendly bond we have between us, most of all i’m scared that they won’t see me as their daughter no more.
