They could have done anything with Jacob’ s loyalty . Anything . And it would have been better than this . For the love of god if they handled This loyalty with any tact it could have been good . If they wanted to keep This Plot they should have made his dad the captain lost in the crash . I would rather Jacob talk about how his father’ s ship is MIA for years and now he gets a distress call , and it seems like he could have survived , and it’ s just the building hope , only to learn his dad is dead and his identity was used to lure people onto the planet . We can get rid of the racism and the . “ female pets “ shit then . LIKE COME ON .. PLEASE ?

Finished episode 4 of the Acolyte just now and while I do not dislike the show, all of the strange choices the showrunners and writers have made make it very hard for me to be interested/like it too. There's nothing specifically awful about it but man it feels like they don't know how to write dialogue or properly pace the story across episodes or even scenes. The episodes end super abruptly and at very strange times and even make these weird cuts mid-action scene. They come up with really cool concepts (like the Coven) but don't really flesh them out much. It has interesting characters....on paper....but doesn't spend much time to really explore them. And while its set in a new period for Star Wars TV, it doesn't really feel very different except on mostly superficial levels.
Again, it's not that the show is bad and some of the actors/characters really work for me. But there's so many baffling (and in my opinion, wrong) choices being made that it ends up feeling like another mediocre Disney+ Star Wars show that doesn't really feel like it offers very much. I appreciate the fact that it doesn't feel like a blatant attempt to rely on nostalgia to carry a mediocre show but do better!

Oded Fehr (The Mummy 1999)- He was also in Resident Evil (2022) but that's outside of the cut-offs. Also, I can look him for 1000 hours no matter how shitty the movie
Harrison Ford (Star Wars films, Blade Runner)- han solo aside i don't think you can go wrong with a man who drinks red wine, knows some carpentry skills, and clearly doesn't want to be at any publicity interview he's put in
Additional propaganda:

the whole “ppl don’t care about female characters bc writers don’t make them as complex” argument holds no weight. boba fett was a hugely popular star wars character for decades when all he did in the original trilogy was say 4 lines then die.

the Federation itself as a concept is so funny because the founding members are
the Vulcans, who have been friends with humanity for years but don't seem to actually like them all that much, instead regarding them with a sort of perverse fascination usually reserved for virology labs
the Andorians, who were fighting the Vulcans for like a hundred years
the Tellarites, who don't like any of these people and whose cultural trait is arguing, and
humans, whom nobody knew existed until last century when they shot themselves into space on a heavily modified nuke, invented world peace and won a fight with the nearest imperial superpower
like imagine you're the Romulan Empire and these weird monkeys who've barely figured out interstellar travel show up on your doorstep in the equivalent of a shipping container with missiles strapped to it, kick your ass in front of everybody, and then start a friendship club with 3 of your neighbours who all hated each others' guts until like a year ago. now I understand why every Romulan on the show is so angry
