This is something that has been in the works for a while now - Something I have been eager to announce and unveil for you all! As a way to help those who seek paths like Priesthood and Oracleship, as well as other equivalent titles, a few of my closest friends and I have worked together to build a server with the goal of educating those interested in the Oathsworn path. It does have a focus on Hellenic Polytheism, however, we have worked to make it open to several pantheons - Roman Polytheism, Celtic Polytheism, Heathenry, Demonolatry - and while I am not particularly well versed in Priesthood-equivalent paths in these Pantheons, I am quite eager to learn. This server is dedicated to my patron, King Zeus Horkios. May He share this with those who are interested, with the purest of intentions. And under the guidance of King Zeus Xenios, we are welcoming of anyone in any walk of their practice, any background, and any experience leve. Though, we are 15+.

Welcome to the Grove of Olympia, a space dedicated to education and learning. We value resources and historical backing while being open to reconstructionalism and revivalist lenses. If you do join, please do so with an open mind, and be ready to learn. We welcome you with open arms!

My blog is moving

After some consideration and even MORE recent life changes, my blog is moving - the new blog is @altis-of-olympia and the reason for the change is quite simple!

King Zeus stepped forward and requested that I become His Priest rather than Lord Apollo's. I gave this a lot of thought and consideration and decided to take him up on the offer, and it is for this reason that I am shifting from this blog to the new one under the name "Altia." You may still call me robyn or robby, but King Zeus has taken to calling me Altia, and so it's the name I'll use on this blog.

I won't be deleting this one!! This one is staying up because I think there is some valuable information on here that I don't want to delete!! Consider this blog a time capsule - The new blog is a representation of new beginnings and new chapters, that's all. I'm still here, I'm still part of the community, and I'm still your equal.

୭🧷✧˚. ᵎᵎ 🎀 As a broke devotee I don't possess many methods of divination for communicating with the deities. While I do have my oracle deck - I thought it important to have multiple means of divining! I realized that this may be the case for others sooo... Here are some other free and accessible tools I use~;

Labyrinthos App - My Favourite! (Has tarot, runes and lenormand for daily readings and has tons of educational content for you to learn divination.)

Coins - Nothing more simple then a coin flip, I flip a 2 dollar coin for yes or no readings!

Dice - This one is more personal and fun! you can put different answers for each side of the dice and just roll!

Aight, so a suspect has been caught. In the next couple of days we’re going to be bombarded with a cavalcade of information about Luigi Mangione. As we start this period I want everyone to remember:

The killer--whether he is Mangione or another man--is a living, breathing, human being. He has followed people you don’t like, held beliefs you disagree with, and possibly voting for politicians you think suck.

He still shot a man with the blood of millions on his hands. He still caused an outpouring of rage that caused BCBS to roll back its ghoulish anesthesia policy.

Carve that into your fucking minds. Mass media is about to do its damnedest to remind us to hate each other, not the top .001%. Do not let them do this. Y’all understand what I’m saying? Here, lemme spell it out more clearly:

DO NOT FUCKING PURITY TEST THIS GUY, ASSHOLES!!

And if you see people fixating on his purity over the message he sent, call them out on it.

We have lost again and again and again on healthcare because we keep letting the rich divide us. Remember: the people united will never be defeated.

Edit: A couple of people have asked me to not convict Mangione in my post, and they're right. Mangione has been arrested on gun charges, not for the murder, and regardless of the charge he obviously hasn't been convicted yet. It's too soon to lay Brian Thompson on his head. I've modified the post to reflect that.

That said, what I've said here applies to whoever the killer is. As the media circus plays out, a lot of talking heads will be pulling out all stops to remind us to hate each other, not the insurance CEOs. Do not fall for their tricks!

An Update for my Blog!

Khaire! This post may be a bit long - Following my sudden hiatus, a lot of things have occurred not only in my life but in my practice that I would love to share with you all. Most of them are exciting, of course. Along with these life updates, I am also updating my tumblr! With this, I do plan to add in some things I'd like to bring to my page, things I'd like to implement, and ways I would like to give back to you all, the community who have so graciously granted me a platform.

Without further ado, lets get into it!

1. Life Updates

The first thing I would like to get into are a few life updates that I do not mind sharing.

First - I've moved out! I live away from home while attending university. This means that I have been able to practice more actively and throw myself into my faith and divinity without consequence. I have been blessed with amazing roommates who allow me to have my space while they have theirs. That being said, this has given me a lot of time to reflect, a lot of time to adjust, and a lot of time to settle into my practice once more. And that is an amazing feeling.

Second - a few relationships in my life have recently ended. Two people who were very close to me are no longer in my life, and this has been something I have been struggling to come to terms to. It is part of why I took a hiatus in the first place - I needed time to focus on me. I needed time to focus on myself and my peace before giving back to the community. I do appreciate you all for giving me the space to focus on myself and my needs. I am incredibly grateful.

2. Practice Updates

First, and perhaps the biggest thing - Lord Apollo has asked that I take up Priesthood! This does not mean that I am currently a Priest - I am simply a Priest in Training. I do not claim the title of Priest, as I do not yet deserve this title. A few days ago, Lord Apollo approached me and requested that I take up this title under the condition that I agree to work on myself and my weaknesses. On top of this, I agreed to give back to the community, to spread His name and His word, and to devote myself fully to Him and all that He stands for. This is a big deal, and I feel that this fact goes without saying. With that being said, I do want to be considered a mentor for those who may need it, someone you can look to if you have questions. However, I am not perfect. I am not a perfect teacher. I am not an infallible figure. I am human. I am your equal. I am not a God, nor am I equal to a God. I am simply a mouthpiece and a servant of Lord Apollo.

Second - I have started taking my practice more seriously. Over a conversation I had with King Hades, I learned that I was very passively practicing. I was hardly practicing. The extent of my practice was a "Good morning" and "Goodnight" to Lord Apollo (note: it is OKAY if your practice looks like this!! MY Practice just had room to grow). I petitioned King Hades for wealth and guidance, asking him to help me with my current financial situation. I was met with a big fat why should I help you? And He was very right. I had not been devoting myself as much as I could - my practice got lazy. I had the energy to give more, but I was not doing it. Through this conversation, I started taking my practice far more seriously. A goal for myself this new year is to become more secure and confident in my practice, regardless of what others think of it. I welcome anyone reading this to join me in that endeavor.

3. Blog Updates and Changes

First - You may have noticed the rebrand from "Your Witchy Brother" to "Light of Delphi." I worked with Apollo to come up with this new name for the blog. I wanted something that showed who I work for while also expressing who I am. I always told myself that, if I became a musician, I'd name myself LyreLight. I ended up combining this with the name of the iconic Oracle in Lord Apollo's history - The Oracle at Delphi. This is where Light of Delphi came from. I am, by no means, an Oracle. But I would like to be, one day. I do hope you all enjoy this rebrand as much as I do! My posts will be more oriented towards Lord Apollon from this point forward. Of course, if I have interactions with other Gods, I will absolutely include them in my blog! But part of my training, I feel, is to emphasize my dedication to His image and character.

Second - Not a change, but I am still Robyn! Lord Apollo has dubbed me "Augustus", so I may sign off post regarding Priestxhood or prayers with this name, as it was gifted to me by Him, but my name is still Robyn. You can still call me Robyn, Robby, or anything you'd like. You do not have to call me Augustus, though, you are absolutely free to if you think it is appropriate!

Third - I want to offer tarot readings. They are time-consuming, and energy consuming, and unfortunately, I am not in a position where I can do them for free. So, to remedy this, I have decided to open up a ko-fi! The link is right here if you are interested in looking at it. It isn't anything special yet - very simple. It's a pay-what-you-like system, with a minimum of $5. That way, you gain guidance and have questions answered, and I get a small amount of money! But please, do not feel pressured to buy me a ko-fi! You absolutely do not have to, I promise you <3

Branching off of the last point - whenever I do have time, I do plan on doing weekly tarot readings! My goal is every Sunday, but it takes time to form a routine and Sundays are some of my busiest days of the week, but I will see what I can do. If not on Sundays, I may post them on Saturday evenings for the day ahead. But do look out for those!

And one last thing - my biggest goal here is to create a community. This means that the things you have to say are very important to me. If I do something that you feel is out of line, feel free to educate me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I don't want to create a toxic community. I want to foster an environment in which people feel they can express themselves without judgment and feel welcome. So please, I implore you to hold me accountable if I ever step out of line.

I plan on doing a new introduction in the near future with new information, but for now, this is what I have to offer. It is 2am, I'm tired, and I have the day off tomorrow. I am forever grateful of Lord Apollo giving me the gift of training for Priesthood, for even considering me to be a good pick for this position. Khaire, and please do take care of yourselves. Adhara's post introduction: Hello, lovebugs! Today's post is about epithets! Hope you guys like it! I've always found Epithets something essential in my practice, so I wanted to share some knowledge and information for you guys!!

🎐What are Epithets?

🦢 Throughout ancient Greek writing and mythology, there is something known as epithets. The definition of epithet is repeated descriptive adjectives or phrases linked to a specific character, either a God or Hero, that are used to describe a specific characteristic of they hold.

🎐 What is the importance of the Epithets?

🦢 Epithets are important not only to know more about your Deity, but also to know what type of works they do with their devotees, and also to know which energy you may resonate more with.

🎐 How to know which Epithet I'm working with my Deity?

🦢 First, I recommend you to do multiple researches about your Deity, then see which one resonates more with you, then you ask them for confirmation, it's best if you have the Epithets in hand and go through it with your Deity, especially if you don't feel your intuition pushing you towards an specific epithet.

🎐 What are examples of Epithets, and what they can mean to me?

🦢 Here's some examples of Epithets and their meanings and what they could mean in works (from my perspective, of course):

- Aphrodite Areia, the warlike. A surname of Aphrodite, when represented in full armour like Ares, as was the case at Sparta: It can help at getting more confident in yourself and getting through challenges.

- Athena Paeonia(Paiônia), i. e. the healing goddess, was a surname of Athena, under which she had a statue at Athens, and an altar in the temple of Amphiaraus at Oropus: It can help through mental and physical traumas and how to live past them.

- Hekate Atalos; the tender-hearted, or Hekate the delicate: Helps through understanding that even if you're powerful, you can still be kind and soft-hearted.

- Ares Aphneiós; rich, wealthy: It can help with finances, such as saving and controlling your money better.

- Demeter Brimo;(Brimô), the angry or the terrifying, occurs as a surname of several divinities, such as Hecate or Persephone: It can help understanding where your anger comes from.

🎐 Are all Epithets usable in our worshipping?

🦢 That's a tricky question, some Epithets were used in a specific part of Greece or another place, so they may not be fit for some of us.

Important Terms in Hellenism

I think learning even a few words or phrases in ancient Greek is important to connecting with the Gods! So, let's learn the most important ones

Hellenism, Hellenismos, and Hellenistic- Hellenism and Hellenismos are titles given to the religion of worshiping the ancient Greek Gods. Hellenistic is to describe the time period after the death of Alexander the Great to Mark Antony in 31 BC

Kharis- This is one of the most fundamental things in Hellenism. This word can mean many things so to really simplify, it means to give to the Gods so they may give to us. It's the act of building relationship and reciprocity with the divine

Eusebeia- Piety and loyalty

Khernips- Pure water that is used to purify the self, materials, or altars before ritual, sacrifice, and sometimes prayers

Miasma- Mortal pollution or impurity. Things like literal filth (dirt, sweat, ect.) bad or stale energies, or guilt

Ouranic- A God who is not of the earth. These types of Gods are said to live in Olympus

Khthonic- A God who is of the earth. They are typically chalked up to just being the death deities but that's not completely true. Any God who lives and/or has domain over earth are also Khthonic

Sponde- A libation for Ouranic Gods that is poured then sipped by the worshiper

Khoe- A libation for Khthonic Gods that is poured out completely

Dæmon- A spirit or ghost. Specifically NOT a demon

Khaire/Khairete [singular/plural]- Greetings, hello

Elthe deuro- Come here/come to me (this is not impolite to say to Gods, it was traditionally done)

Klue/Kluete [singular/plural]- Hear me

Eukhomai- I pray

Ei boulei- Please, if you wish

Kharin ekho- Thank you
