An Update for my Blog!

Khaire! This post may be a bit long - Following my sudden hiatus, a lot of things have occurred not only in my life but in my practice that I would love to share with you all. Most of them are exciting, of course. Along with these life updates, I am also updating my tumblr! With this, I do plan to add in some things I'd like to bring to my page, things I'd like to implement, and ways I would like to give back to you all, the community who have so graciously granted me a platform.

Without further ado, lets get into it!

1. Life Updates

The first thing I would like to get into are a few life updates that I do not mind sharing.

First - I've moved out! I live away from home while attending university. This means that I have been able to practice more actively and throw myself into my faith and divinity without consequence. I have been blessed with amazing roommates who allow me to have my space while they have theirs. That being said, this has given me a lot of time to reflect, a lot of time to adjust, and a lot of time to settle into my practice once more. And that is an amazing feeling.

Second - a few relationships in my life have recently ended. Two people who were very close to me are no longer in my life, and this has been something I have been struggling to come to terms to. It is part of why I took a hiatus in the first place - I needed time to focus on me. I needed time to focus on myself and my peace before giving back to the community. I do appreciate you all for giving me the space to focus on myself and my needs. I am incredibly grateful.

2. Practice Updates

First, and perhaps the biggest thing - Lord Apollo has asked that I take up Priesthood! This does not mean that I am currently a Priest - I am simply a Priest in Training. I do not claim the title of Priest, as I do not yet deserve this title. A few days ago, Lord Apollo approached me and requested that I take up this title under the condition that I agree to work on myself and my weaknesses. On top of this, I agreed to give back to the community, to spread His name and His word, and to devote myself fully to Him and all that He stands for. This is a big deal, and I feel that this fact goes without saying. With that being said, I do want to be considered a mentor for those who may need it, someone you can look to if you have questions. However, I am not perfect. I am not a perfect teacher. I am not an infallible figure. I am human. I am your equal. I am not a God, nor am I equal to a God. I am simply a mouthpiece and a servant of Lord Apollo.

Second - I have started taking my practice more seriously. Over a conversation I had with King Hades, I learned that I was very passively practicing. I was hardly practicing. The extent of my practice was a "Good morning" and "Goodnight" to Lord Apollo (note: it is OKAY if your practice looks like this!! MY Practice just had room to grow). I petitioned King Hades for wealth and guidance, asking him to help me with my current financial situation. I was met with a big fat why should I help you? And He was very right. I had not been devoting myself as much as I could - my practice got lazy. I had the energy to give more, but I was not doing it. Through this conversation, I started taking my practice far more seriously. A goal for myself this new year is to become more secure and confident in my practice, regardless of what others think of it. I welcome anyone reading this to join me in that endeavor.

3. Blog Updates and Changes

First - You may have noticed the rebrand from "Your Witchy Brother" to "Light of Delphi." I worked with Apollo to come up with this new name for the blog. I wanted something that showed who I work for while also expressing who I am. I always told myself that, if I became a musician, I'd name myself LyreLight. I ended up combining this with the name of the iconic Oracle in Lord Apollo's history - The Oracle at Delphi. This is where Light of Delphi came from. I am, by no means, an Oracle. But I would like to be, one day. I do hope you all enjoy this rebrand as much as I do! My posts will be more oriented towards Lord Apollon from this point forward. Of course, if I have interactions with other Gods, I will absolutely include them in my blog! But part of my training, I feel, is to emphasize my dedication to His image and character.

Second - Not a change, but I am still Robyn! Lord Apollo has dubbed me "Augustus", so I may sign off post regarding Priestxhood or prayers with this name, as it was gifted to me by Him, but my name is still Robyn. You can still call me Robyn, Robby, or anything you'd like. You do not have to call me Augustus, though, you are absolutely free to if you think it is appropriate!

Third - I want to offer tarot readings. They are time-consuming, and energy consuming, and unfortunately, I am not in a position where I can do them for free. So, to remedy this, I have decided to open up a ko-fi! The link is right here if you are interested in looking at it. It isn't anything special yet - very simple. It's a pay-what-you-like system, with a minimum of $5. That way, you gain guidance and have questions answered, and I get a small amount of money! But please, do not feel pressured to buy me a ko-fi! You absolutely do not have to, I promise you <3

Branching off of the last point - whenever I do have time, I do plan on doing weekly tarot readings! My goal is every Sunday, but it takes time to form a routine and Sundays are some of my busiest days of the week, but I will see what I can do. If not on Sundays, I may post them on Saturday evenings for the day ahead. But do look out for those!

And one last thing - my biggest goal here is to create a community. This means that the things you have to say are very important to me. If I do something that you feel is out of line, feel free to educate me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I don't want to create a toxic community. I want to foster an environment in which people feel they can express themselves without judgment and feel welcome. So please, I implore you to hold me accountable if I ever step out of line.

I plan on doing a new introduction in the near future with new information, but for now, this is what I have to offer. It is 2am, I'm tired, and I have the day off tomorrow. I am forever grateful of Lord Apollo giving me the gift of training for Priesthood, for even considering me to be a good pick for this position. Khaire, and please do take care of yourselves. just thinking about the fact that Scorpius had a deep distrust of Delphi from the moment he first met her and that distrust only increases each time. now, I believe he thinks his distrust stems from jealousy (albus IS his only friend and this woman was taking him from Scorpius), but I actually believe that Scorpius felt a darkness in her magic, the same darkness he knows is in his own magic, the same darkness he fights every single day. But Delphi doesn't, and he could sense that.

Thinking about general Pharma sickfic au stuff

Been testing some new brushes and trying to hone my style. I also came up with an idea for what to do next and I literally could not sleep all night because I was excited. Details on that will be in my next post.

Also first aid has big buzungas.

The funny thing about Pharma and the Delphi situation is that that's where the concept of the DJD was first introduced (with the first scene with the DJD at work happening literally the issue afterwards, issue #6) and literally the more you learn about the DJD the more it vindicates Pharma in his paranoia and being convinced that he couldn't ask for help like

In the Delphi issues we learn that the DJD hunts down Decepticon turncoats/traitors/etc and that Ambulon, one of the Delphi staff, was a Decepticon traitor. We also learn that their leader is evidently terrifying in addition to being a t-cog addict, but that's it.

Except in the subsequent issue #6 and all issues with the DJD afterwards, we learn a variety of fun facts about the DJD such as

Several of the members either literally transform into torture equipment or have said torture equipment built into their bodies

Their leader, Tarn, the guy with the t-cog addiction that forced Pharma into blackmail, can kill people with just his VOICE

We later learn that the DJD have a fanatical devotion to the Decepticon cause/Megatron such that they literally worship an idol of Megatron

Even later on, we learn that Tarn's kill-you-with-his-voice powers work both over the phone and via recordings of his voice

Tarn is also very talkative during torture sessions and he seems to find pleasure in his stupid, smug-smart guy persona where he likes to describe to victims what's happening to them and why. And there's no reason he wouldn't apply this to Autobots just as much as he does to Decepticon traitors

The DJD have access to signal jamming technologies that make it so that even if their victim can get a help signal out, no one will receive it until weeks after the fact

Their entire system of hunting people down is based on pursuing them no matter what, isolating them from any help, driving them mad with psychological terror, etc

They're capable enough warriors to slaughter an entire ships' worth of people, apparently without sustaining any meaningful casualties

They're drug addicts that are prone to overdosing and/or losing control and slaughtering people while they're under the influence

So like???

If Pharma was only privy to HALF of the things that we as the audience know about the DJD, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Pharma probably wanted to call for help at some point, but was convinced that doing so would lead to 1. the signal being jammed/blocked so no one would help anyways 2. him and everyone else at Delphi (including the TRAITOR WHO IS ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES) would be horribly tortured to death by fanatical Decepticon torturer freaks.

Like I get that in the text Pharma only says that he did the Red Rust stuff so that he wouldn't be caught/blamed for the t-cog deal and is prideful about how he stopped the DJD from murdering Delphi, but like...... there's no fucking way that Pharma going "oh I didn't want to get in trouble and also I'm better than everyone" was his PRIMARY reason for everything on Delphi. Pharma didn't go from perfectly normal/sane Autobot doctor to raving egotistical maniac because he was always an asshole and he decided to solve the DJD issue in an asshole way. It's bc according to all canon evidence we have of the DJD and the way they react to traitors/Autobots, Pharma had every reason to fear for his life and believe that no aid would come to him.

Prophecy 1

Concept was sorta based off of how bc Delphi was in a snowy region, it'd probably make sense for First Aid to be able to navigate in the snow? My other idea was redesigning First Aid and giving him a snowmobile altmode- (Might come back to it some day, but looking at my current WIP pile... unlikely ;v;)

The Moon

They all had examined the image on the back of the thick, hooded tunic that Del wore when she was cold or particularly stressed. The thin silver thread outlined a quiet scene. A winding and twisting tree with dainty leaves that draped over a calm pond. What they always wondered was what the strange orb that hung above the pond was. Alec’s theory was that it was a lantern.

As Del gathered her notes from their last council meeting, Konrad’s eyes were trained on her back. Alec smirked. This wasn’t the first time he had caught the young king staring at his newly appointed seer.

“Delphie?”

“Yes, Your Majesty?” The forced politeness grated on Alec. She was still angry at what had happened the week prior. The irritation was masterfully hidden, but it still radiated off of her in waves that Alec easily picked up on.

“What is...” Konrad sighed and looked back down at the hardwood desk he sat at. “That image...on your...” He gestured to the item of beloved clothing.

“Yes?” Del gave him a concerned look. The fresh scar above her brow quirked up. Since receiving that injury, her expression had become more guarded around his Majesty. A well-deserved expression, in Alec’s opinion.

Konrad swallowed thickly, kingly confidence now fleeing when faced with the mistake of a night of terror. He had become a new person to her. The harsh distrust that he treated her with had melted away following the days since the attack. Alec was secretly proud of the change.

“What is the silver circle on the embroidery supposed to be? Is it a light of some sort?”

The tightness in Del’s jaw melted away, much to both Alec's and Konrad’s relief. She even smiled. A sad smile, but a smile nonetheless.

“Oh. That’s...That’s the moon.” Del suddenly looked puzzled. “Right...you don’t know what that is.”

“Describe it!” Konrad quickly replied. Alec cracked a large smile at his enthusiasm.

Del sat back down and hummed thoughtfully. “Well...the moon is...maybe I should start with the sky. Your sky is dark and purple all the time. My sky changes. It’s beautiful...and violent and striking... Y’know those glowing rocks and the animals who light up the top of the cave? Well, back home, we have something similar. We call them stars. They are these massive balls of fire, millions of miles away in our sky. They sparkle and brighten the night sky. That’s the sky that is the most like yours.”

Del’s expression was excited yet wistful. Alec was enraptured by the description. Konrad, however, could only see her in each word.

“We have a big star, that’s the one that changes the sky. It’s the closest to us. When you go outside, it feels like you’re sitting by the fire. Warm and inviting. But it’s powerful too. I get burned every summer. My skin turns pink all over where it sees the sun. It’s breathtaking...”

She quieted down and blinked rapidly, almost in surprise. Her breathing was shaky and her cheeks became rosy with emotion. Alec perked up at the signs of emotional distress and was prepared to lead her out of the room if needed.

The worried expression was the first thing that Alec noticed on Konrad’s face. Then the way his hand enveloped hers.

The seer stared at the king’s large hand surrounding hers. Her watery eyes dried before she swallowed and pulled her hand away.

“R-right, the moon. So the moon is this massive stone in the sky that reflects the light of the sun.”

Alec noticed the bitter embarrassment in Konrad’s demeanor. Del looked uncomfortable and strained. Her hands quietly tucked themselves away into her pockets.

“When it is full, um, when it completely reflects the sun like a silver mirror...” Del rubbed the back of her neck before gathering up her notes once again and standing.

The tension in the room was soon directed at Alec once she left.

“Your Majesty, you’re an idiot if you don’t apologize soon.”
