Do Vampires in "Turning tides" have reflection? (I'm asking because they seem to be fine with the sun so I wanna know about other differences with typical vampires they have)

Ah! So that depends! Back in the day, mirrors were made with Silver so that's why Vampires don't show a reflection. However, other smooth surfaces that can create a reflection will show up. Like over water or any other type of metal.

As a rare Eclipse fan, i never thought i’d see Eclipse x Sonic (one sided at least) ever played out. Unless I’m misunderstanding Eclipses feelings, but I love how you’ve written him being conflicted and also feel sad for my boy because he’s in a “always the brides maid but never the bride” situation 😭

I enjoyed writing him so much. And no an extent, it was a one sided attraction. Although now we know it was based of fake memories that made him jealous and wanting what Shadow had.

It took a bit but Sonic and Eclipse are on good terms now. They haven't had a chance to talk about it in person but occasionally they would write letters to one another to talk about what happened to both of them.

I'm cooking with Tides of Darkness! I'm getting super excited! Now I just need to get the move over with and settle into the new place to really start hashing it out!

Just for "Turning Tides,"

If you don't mind me asking how long did it take for Shadow to decide he wanted to be a pirate? I know he, Omega, Rouge, Gray, Jorah, and Scaro fled Archaea together (and that Leven came much, much later when Shadow was already a captain). I know Rouge became a professional treasure hunter before she became a Pirate Queen by accident, and that both she and Shadow founded and built Emerald Cove together. What made Shadow want to become a pirate in the first place?

Also who or what were Gray, Jorah, and Scaro before they left with Shadow? (When I say what, I'm referring to thier past jobs/occupations. NOT thier species). I know that Shadow was the prince, and Rouge and Omega were Doom's servants(Given how furious he had been at them for "stealing" his son and wanting revenge on them). So why did Gray, Scaro, and Jorah specifically leave with Shadow? Were they just the only ones in Shadow's inner circle when they left? Were there others who tried to come but were caught by Black Doom and his forces?

hmmm I never thought of anything concrete for why Shadow became a pirate. It was out of necessity since going to another continent would get him caught sooner or later. Constantly being on the move made sure Doom never caught wind of him. And if he did, t he ship would already be long gone but the time they got there.

Emerald Cove was where they hid. Rouge made magical enhancements to keep it hidden unless you knew the way in. they all experimented on things to do to make ends meet and eventually more people gathered around them for the safety and secrecy. it just so happened that most of the people who were looking to hide out were pirates. and Since this was the closest thing they had to a new home they had to make sure it wasn't destroyed or overrun. and thus Rouge became Queen because Shadow refused to.

For the second question, Grey and Jorah are the only ones who came with them from Archea, Scaro joined later but before Leven joined.

Grey was the young boy of one of the servants within the castle. He saw his family forced into becoming Dark Arms. Shadow saved him convincing Black Doon that he was too young at the time.

Jorah was a part of one of the noble families along with being a court physician. He was one who was openly against the conversion into Dark Arms and was badly beaten because of it before being disowned by his family. Rouge was the one who took him in before they snuck into the castle and rescued Shadow and fled the country.

I'm wanting to slow it down a bit so I don't see the roleswap au ending any time soon. And I don't want to think too hard about future ideas in fear they will take over my brain and I won't be able to work on my current stuff.

Just some food for thought for RT. Banshees are often depicted combing their hair as their wailing. Maybe you can twist the folklore a bit. Maybe Amy has a comb that was passed down to her by a relative and she combs her quills on nights that she's stressed or something. Or maybe whenever she gets worried (particularly about a member of her crew) she combs her fingers through her quills, or brushes strands of her quills.

I like the idea of Knuckles being covered in gemstones. Especially The Master Emerald pieces! It'd explain why he would take the form of an echidna when he was created since their race are strongly tied to it. Would he still be able to do that glow-up trick from "Tide of Embers?" You know in that scene where they learn that Sonic is possessed and they confront Mephiles for the first time? Probably not since he wouldn't technically be The Guardian in the "Reverse Tides" AU. But still, that skill would have come in handy for their adventures.

Oh! And to show that she cares she brushes the others quills as well. Sonic loves the pampering and it's when they have deep talks or gossips. She even helps knuckles since random stuff get stuck in his stone like quills. Perhaps brushing Shadow's quills will get them closer.

Speaking of Knuckles! I LOVE the idea of pieces of the Master Emeralds was embedded in Knuckles! It could be how he's the "Guardian"

For "Reverse Tides..,"

Not really an idea or a theory. I mean i have some ideas and theories but I'm going to keep them to myself. Going to have fun guessing. But will Sonic have a foil? A character foil if you will. Someone who parallels with him but is ultimately still very different from him.

For ToC Captain Shadow's foil was Black Doom. Black Doom proved to be far worse than his son ever was and you could see the parallels between them especially in regards to their relationships with their Chaos Born partners. But what truly separates them is that Shadow cares for his crew and friends and he truly came to love and respect Sonic. (Though he still gets very protective but that's for a good reason). Meanwhile, Doom viewed everyone as inferior to him including "the love of his life" Thiosa who he drugged and brainwashed to be submissive.

Will there be someone who stands opposite of Sonic? To compare and contrast him to? If there is, DON'T tell me! Makes things more fun for me! There probably won't be enough room given both of the Robotniks will be in there.

I'm telling you though, Sonic is quite good at getting different counterparts or rivals who are almost equivalent to him. Wether in terms of of his power, his backstory, his job, or in terms of his personality (Shadow, Blaze, and Jet etc).

Maybe it will be an OC? You have a real talent in creating them.

an interesting question, since this in more a possible fic and on the backburner it's not a yes or a no.

New questions for Turning tides

1-We know there's turned Vampires and pureblood vampires. Are they the only 2 types or there's more?

2- We know Vampire hunters are after Pureblood's venom, but why would people want it in the first place? (I have a few ideas but I wanna see how you respond first). Also, could pureblood Vampires sell their own venom for profit?

so I only made the 2 types for the story so didn't bother making more since they weren't prevalent to the story.

Second question, the paralysis aspect top Vampire venom was something that many doctor or medicine makers were interested in. It's why Shadow's marked were drained of their blood. Because the venom stays for a period of time. I didn't get into any details further than that.

And yeah I assume some probably did, but again. not something I thought about in depth.

I don't know what game would be next, would it be "Sonic Lost World" or "Sonic and the Black Knight", the next one to adapt, but, will they be relatively short too?

(It's been three weeks since Shadow was taken. The crew still continue their search for him and his pirate captors).

Jorah: We have found nothing!

(Leven is stress eating some oranges, Scaro is trying to calm him down)

Rouge: Leven's still stress eating.

Gray: Why! Why did this have to happen! (Proceeds to throw his head back and holler into the sky) WHY CHAOS!!! WHY DID YOU TAKE OUR CAPTAIN AWAY!? Was it something we did!?"

Meanwhile in the universe of "Turning Tides..."

The crew of the notorious pirate ship The Final Hazard are sitting around playing cards just chilling when suddenly Jorah freezes.

Gray: What's up?

Jorah: I feel... A disssturbanccce in the air...

Gray, Leven, and Scaro look around but feel nothing.

Leven (signing): Maybe it was just your imagination?

Out of all your fanfics, wich ones was your favorite to write and wich one did you struggle with the most?

Favorite to write? Easy, Tides of Chaos. It was so fun to write.

Most struggle? Probably Shadow 06. I think because I was writing Tide of Embers at the same time was part of the challenge but making sure the two different Mephiles' didn't bleed into one another was a struggle. Especially since I was fixated on the cold aspect of Mephiles.

And for the life of me I could not get excited about the story.

Hi! I’m not sure if you’ve gotten this question before (sorry if I’m asking something that’s been answered on ao3) but I have Thiosa on the brain. It wasn’t relevant to the story but I’m curious what her Chaos Born power was, and if maybe that was inherited by Shadow in some capacity…

Also! I love your Rollswap stories! Every time Team Dark interacts I get the biggest smile. Or any of the characters, really!

Ah! A good question.

Thiosa doesn't have one. She was not a controller like Sonic or Shadow and thus only has the fast healing and radiant aura, (not as strong but strong enough.)

And before anyone asks, being a controller has nothing to do with lineage. Just because a parent is a controller doesn't mean the child will and vice versa.
