Jawn and more Awsten clothes

I'm really getting better with titles, wouldn't you think? I've found that when I share a bunch of stuff in one, even the basis stuff gets downloads, so there is a market even for my dumb recolors for myself too. In all seriousness, I've been playing as Sim Jawn a lot for the past few months (skipping most of January and all of Feb until a couple days ago but nevermind) and when I play as a Sim a lot, I inevitably make stuff for them, and I also made more stuff for Awsten too as he's part of this. Anyway, first up as you can see, is a shirt made just for Jawn, Jawktober 2024, just one swatch.

I call this the striped vneck tshirt, great name. This one has 13 swatches, I made it for Jawn, but it's just a striped vneck shirt, all but two swatches were just made for the sake of it being generic enough to share for variety.

Going out in a hoodie and beanie in Copperdale Summer rip. I call this an oversized hoodie, the mesh is from The Grunge Revival Kit so you need that, yeah. There's 8 swatches, 4 black, 4 red, yeah I got the design from streams. Also there's a beanie too, with 3 swatches, that one's base game. I got daring and edited the base beanie texture to make it different, works best in black, that real inspiration can be found here.

This one I wasn't even sure if I wanted to share it, as the mesh, well, it distorts the text and makes it look wavy, but this is the mesh I chose, and honestly, I know I could change the base mesh I used, but I like this shape, and I find it too funny to actually edit, and I get sick of seeing the same 3 hoodie meshes over and over. I'm pretty sure this one is base game, tho it was Moschino, I think. I used this base plain hoodie texture from Rope, tho the mesh is just base game. 3 swatches, also based on something real. I assure you he doesn't have boobs, it's just the mesh.

Those ponies are coming, I promise. Anyway, because I couldn't leave Awsten out of all the fun, I had to do this hoodie too as I thought it would be funny on his werewolf form. Also this is the same fake boob mesh as above, just less obvious here. Colors copied from the real one. With a bonus, five swatches.

I promise that all my screenshots of Awsten are indeed this unhinged. I wasn't even sure if I was ever gonna share this one, as it's a recolor of other CC, and I hate having to make people require things others made, but damn this base is just so good, all I did was make a quick recolor that didn't even change much. But the base mesh is Impossible Layered T-Shirt from xiuminuwu from here. Like you need this for this swatch to show up, it's just an extra addition to the original, I tested it.

I was feeling inspired by a post I saw reblogged earlier, along with seeing more fanart lately, so I did pony St*rfucker and Soulsucker after not knowing what to do with them for a long time. Then something just, clicked.

I couldn't figure out what outfits I wanted, well, I knew what I wanted Soul to have right away, children's earmuffs and cut off Home Depot gloves and all, but St*r was harder. I ended up choosing contrasting options of sunglasses and feather rings, as ponies don't have fingers. He also gets the collar as he's a little bitch.

Bring Me The Horizon Tees

See I like more than just two bands. I made a lot of swatches of these, like a looooooooot. 171 to be exact.

As you can see here, if I did that much more it would take over the screen. So I can't show them all off but I took a bunch more CAS screenshots to show some more off.

Some have back designs too. Which ones? Well you're gonna have to find out. :^) Since these are just recolors there's nothing special about them or anything extra needed. Some I made over five years ago as some of the first Sims 4 CC I ever made, and in Fact my Sim of Oliver, along with his brother and Kellin, were the first Sims I made in this game when I first started playing it on the last day of 2018. I started making CC less than a day in.

Below the cut is my journey with updating and fixing my game for Life & Death in case you're interested as I have to tell someone.

So when it came to the Life & Death patches and pack, I was hyped, the pack looked amazing and exactly for me. And well, it is, but also, my game was in a bad state, immense lag when clicking on Sims ingame, and, okay, I was playing as Awsten last when he was my testing Sim, was was Jawn as I had him over at the time, so let me just tell you it took 27 seconds after clicking on Jawn to make the pie menu show up. 27 seconds! It was 17 earlier this year, which is also insane, but I grew used to it. It was not much better clicking on Awsten himself. Pets wasn't so bad, and younger Sims as they got younger were less bad. But. It was bad. So. I tested like every mod combination I could think of. logging down exact number of seconds the delay was every load in, every test. Without mods there was minimal delay, and WITH mods in a fresh save there was even less delay. But I could not seem to figure it out for my longstanding save. So. I did what I hate doing, asking other people. Those helper servers. Mainly as I'm paranoid of having mods they deem as evil and terrible and mad or whatever. But I'm good, I followed the rules of one to make sure any mods I had on the list were not in my game, only a couple. That's fine right? I can show them logs of my game without issue? WRONG! I had something 'bad' in there! That I did not know ahead of time! So fine, that's gone now, can you guys look? Nope, another bad. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME AHEAD OF TIM- okay, it's gone. Now what? 'Oh those bad mods may cause residual damage to your save file so that may be an issue. Also start a new save." Bitch, what? That makes no sense and is unhelpful. So. I spend the next 7 hours just deleting every townie in my save. All of them, minus pets, and minus a few I spared prior for funny names or some other status, Any premades or Sims I made or got from the gallery were skipped, I only deleted randomized townies. Guess what? This helped, a lot. Residual damage from mods my ass. I brought the delay down by over half just by deleting townies. Got it down even more by deleting more mods. Now it's at the best it's been in awhile, 8-12 seconds, which isn't nothing, yes, but it is playable. And now I have a folder in my Mods folder that's called Forbidden Mods. :) And guess what those mods are fine. They don't cause issues. You know what did give me issue before? When I was recommended a mod to try from one of thee helper servers, THAT broke my game. Fucking ass. So lesson learned, rely on nobody, do everything myself, I can fix my game and saves better than anyone else can, and people policing what others can do in their own single player offline games experience is very very stupid. Why is baby grilling funny and okay to have as a mod in Sims 2 but not in Sims 4? Why is it bad in 4? It's all fiction in the end! Baby grilling in Sims 2 is seen as a funny memory of what modding used to be and no one gets offended by it. But I can't do the same in 4 unless I wanna get on a watchlist. Among other things, but damn, it's pixels, it's someone else's game. You can't abuse and hurt pixels, and Sims is a game series where everyone has played it like a monster before. That's part of the fun. But, anyway. Now Jawn is my designated testing Sim, I'm sure he's honored. And I've been in 'testing mode' for the past couple weeks since I got my game back up to snuff. He lives in Copperdale and that world is a lot of nothing so it's not laggy at least. It's a fine place to test. Honestly by testing I am trying to now prevent my game from making townies as much as possible, and it's not really working the way I want, so I'm also just deleting them from my households as I get to it so it won't take 7 hours again to delete 2 thousand again, as spoilers that was how many townies I had deleted. That was HALF the Sims in my save file. TWO THOUSAND TOWNIES.

Last reblog inspired me to share my own ponified Killjoys designs. Yeah I only made 3 so far, it takes time and I'm not like the biggest fan of the designs overall, but I like making detailed pony outfits, and I like MCR, obviously.

I made these 6 years ago, 5 years ago, and 3 years ago respectively. I guess I'm due for another soon, huh.

have you ever considered making awsten's toe token necklace or geoff's zelda choker as sims 4 cc?

Man I wish I could. Unfortunately I can't really 3d model things from scratch. But I can make SVGs, but last time I tried making a necklace it failed spectacularly, but it was possible I just sucked idk. I've definitely thought about wanting to tho. SVGs work fine for making 3d models as all I need is a flat pendant. It's not impossible I try again some day tho. It was mostly the bones I failed at.

Scene Awsten Hair (And some bonus clothes)

While I made hair for Awsten before, I was never satisfied with the shape of the scene hair, and for a long time I felt this base mesh from Backyard Stuff, which I kept thinking was from Cool Kitchen Stuff, for awhile, would be perfect. But the bangs went the wrong way, so I decided to mirror the mesh in Blender, as that is like the only hair related thing I can modify, but then the UV mapping on the back was off, if you wanted to know why I screenshotted a lot of low angles, so I fixed that. And I'm really picky about which direction bangs fall. :)

Due to it being a mesh edit, it should not require any packs, tho due to the UV mapping editing, this hair is just standalone. Not to fret! In case you REALLY want this hair mirrored with the default textures and UV mapping, I made that too.

Pictured above is how Awsten normally treats me in this game. Due to how I made all this hair for him, I am able to have outfits for him and up to 4 different hairs with all different colors. The tricolor I use all the time, red & black for a few specific outfits, blue for just one, and now scene for two. This only matters to me really, but in case you're like me and like your Sims to change hair style and color a lot.

As a bonus, as I'm never gonna get to share these otherwise, I made some shirt and shoe recolors for him, the shoes and long stripes shirt are extra swatches onto vanilla stuff, the striped t-shirt is standalone. I spent like an hour on the damn shoes, I am sharing them. Oh and fingernails too. Those come with a second swatch for Jack, so two swatches. All should be base game. The shoes and tshirt come with extra swatches, the long sleeved shirt just has the one.

Let it be known that I constantly look at the number of downloads my CC gets on SimFileShare. I see you people out there, downloading only the 'normal' stuff and skipping the band stuff. But as long as you're aware my band Sims are my testers and modelers for everything.

But also, 100 downloads on my 3DS. I am also pleased that nothing has zero downloads, even if it's 1 or 2.

Layered Striped Tee (And Name Tag Accessory)

I finally got my shirt frankenmesh to work 99%. The 1% is some minor clipping in some poses at some physiques, but basic walking did not clip on any of them. I tried to minimize clipping as much as possible, but I am a mere beginner in the realm of mesh editing, the fact that it didn't crash my game or take me 7 months to complete is a miracle to me. I mean it is just a basic layered tee, but still. Last time I tried was a lot more complicated. Still took me even 26 Blender files in the final version but nevermind. Nothing but mad respect to the CC makers that can pump out three dozen brand new meshes within a month, you deserve to get paid, I suck. Anyway this is from the ATL MV for Some Kind Of Disaster. I both didn't like any vanilla layered shirt meshes and also didn't wanna use someone else's mesh as I'm stubborn and refuse to make others download something someone else made to use my crazzy recolors, so I combined two meshes into one. And if you wanna know what part of this is cobbled, it's the short sleeves, that's all I added, to a long sleeved tee base, yup. The texture of course is by me too. I lost my GIMP files for it somewhere in between 2 power outages as I didn't save I guess so I hope I am okay with these stripes and colors as I am not doing it a third time. I tried on another mesh base first and hated it.

While it's based one exactly one from one thing, because it's so general, I made 12 other swatches, changing the blue(?) shirt to other colors. I still made it, for Alex, not anyone else, but it's not like I didn't share that hoodie I made for him either. Maybe some day I'll make plain colors too, but for now I don't feel like it.

That name tag is NOT part of the shirt, it is its own thing, an accessory, albeit a flat one. Using the left index finger ring slot because I didn't know where else to put it and didn't want it to conflict with a bracelet or come off in sex. Custom thumbnail in CAS so you can, you know, see it.

Works for all it's just a flat 2d texture. 11 Swatches, all the name tags from the MV linked above. I made it double resolution and it still looks blurry! Not much can be done about that. I made this not marked for random, but it is marked for situation, as the idea of a random Sim wearing a name tag that says "loser" at a festival is deeply hilarious to me and I hope it happens. Name tag is two words but that was not how I typed it all this time until now.
