Update: we got married this morning, in a cute, private ceremony in front of our local library. My family and our friends were there, and there was snow on the ground.

We have an apartment and an adorable kitten together, and we are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.

I'm currently procrastinating writing an essay about these two songs, so I figured I'd write a little blurb on here with the mini version of my soon-to-be full analysis to try and motivate myself.

song one: Wings for Marie

instrumentals: very consistent but complex; essentially the same complicated thing over and over throughout the song.

lyrics: so so so good. Maynard's feeling of not being worthy of her love and prayers is difficult to listen to because I cannot imagine the disconnect that must have created between them.

song two: 10,000 Days

instruments: a lot fuller sound, lots of build around certain lyrics. I love the instruments in this song, and every other tool song, because they could absolutely stand alone, without lyrics. that being said, they create the perfect give-and-take between music and lyrics.

lyrics: sang very powerfully, especially "Give me my, give me my wiiiinggggssss." I love this part. you can pry this section of the song out of my cold, dead hands. when Maynard is just calling out the hypocritical people she went to church with is another favorite, bc those people are awful and it makes me very angry to think about how they saw someone paralyzed as them being punished. as if babies and small children don't die all the time.

anyways my boyfriend is sitting next to me ,working on the same essay prompt but with a different song ("Have A Cigar" by Pink Floyd), and his little concentrated face is adorable.

Sorry to bring up drama but I feel like this is entering criminal territory and should be addressed. Apparently someone dug out birth certificates of the vessels and wanted to arrange for someone to stalk them and also found out personal information and contacts from not only the members but also their families and partners. And apparently they have intimate pictures they threatened to post. That is so fucked up on so many levels. There are real human beings behind those masks and personas for fucks sake. This goes beyond just posting their names and/or faces and I'm actually at a loss for words tbh...

when i was younger i had a really bad fear of markiplier when i was going to sleep so my older brother gave me a watch that he set to like 8 hours ahead so that it was always daytime on the watch when i was asleep and he told me it would confuse markiplier and he would think it was daytime and get scared of the sun and leave me alone
