Here we have Runaan, Rayla, Zym and Ethari from The Dragon Prince and Ethari's sister, Averaa (Oc by @dragon-susceptible from their fic: A Different Path Taken)

This is the second piece I have done featuring one of their OCs, and there will likely be more, so stay tuned!

I am so happy with how this piece turned out, Averaa was so fun to draw. And this background has to be one of my best, I am so happy with it.

So, the plan was to add Moon Moths to the artwork.... However as I was sketching I realized we would be seeing them from the bottom, based on the current angle of the artwork....

For reference, I'm trying to fill the space in the upper left corner, between Ethari and Rayla.

So I'm changing course and trying to decide which little creature character will be featured in the artwork.

Do I go with Bait...

Updated Sketch of Rayla, Runaan, Ethari and @dragon-susceptible OC, Averaa. I'm actually almost halfway done with this one, but I figured i should get ahead with ideas for the background.

The obvious answer would be sky... but I'm thinking of adding some magic to it. Possibly some illusions... maybe lunar moths? Thoughts?

Collection of Different Path OCs

I have a collection of OCs for the Different Path AU, and I have HeroForge models of many of them! I'm collecting them all into one post again, and adding clarification for what ways my mental image differs from that model.

Averaa

This is Ethari's older sister, the Sunfire jeweler Averaa! She moved back to Lux Aurea with their mom when she was around 18 and Ethari was 14. I think the lines over her face should be straighter, more similar to Janai's - the curved lines are more Moonshadow, they should be straighter arrow marks as a Sunfire elf. (We might be more forgiving with that since her father is a Moonshadow elf)

She should also have the same sort of protective marks on the backs of her hands as Ethari's gloves and the Sunforge sheaths, protecting her from the heat of the forge.

Sirius

This is Andromeda's brother Sirius! His facial markings should be thinner lines, more like Andromeda, but I'm good with their placement. The marks on his shoulders, in contrast, should be full circle moon sigils like we see with the assassins. He might also have lines all the way down his arms, hiding more such markings under his gloves. There's also going to be another large moon rune on his chest beneath the shirt, with lines that trace up from it to his shoulders, neck, and connect to the lines on his face and shoulders. His horns should also have the same blue "wood grain" staining as Andromeda.

Elyrin

Also, go check out @lithuiwen2016's art piece of this one! Because that art brought exactly my vision to life. Elyrin is Andromeda's husband from the Different Path AU, the bard. His horns' purple staining was accurate, though it should be more like a swirly wood grain look like Ethari has going on.

Arethis

This is Arethis, Runaan's late mother, the assassin. I actually pretty much like how her tattoos turned out. The lines beside her eyes should connect with the ones above her brows, though. Similarly, you can't see it from here, but the slashes on her jaw join to form the arrow that points up her chin. Her horns are also smooth, as Moonshadow typically are, and they should have the pink wood grain staining like her son does. Her eyes are also the same color as Rayla's, though . . . he may not know that, as she died when he was three. Her clothes are a similar color scheme as Ram and Callisto.

Reldaar

Runaan's gardener father, Reldaar, color corrected from the last version I posted of him. His complexion is also somewhat corrected to be more like Runaan. God I hope he's color corrected for people with full color vision. His horns should also be slightly forward from where they're at in this image but I had to do some maneuvering to get them the right size and angle. They also should be smooth, and the wood grain and staining on his should be more purple. The sigils on his shoulders should be full circles, like a full moon, but not necessarily the proper rune for it.

His clothing isn't super accurate either. The lines on his shirt should be more subtle lines than just straight striping. Also he should have a more functional gardening belt than this but I couldn't find one on HF.

IT'S DONE!!!

Here we have Moonshadow Assassin Andromeda, enjoying a lovely performance by her husband Elyrin (OC by @dragon-susceptible)

I did play around a little with Elyrin's design based off of the Hero Forge design @dragon-susceptible created, but only because Hero Forge did not have the lovely swirly designs the Moonshadows have.

Also added a sneaky little couple's moment between two other Assassins, but they are fairly easy to spot.

This will likely be the first in a series of drawings of OCs (or scenes, if I feel brave enough) from the fic A Different Path Taken (also by @dragon-susceptible)

Go and check it out, it is really good!

Why do I have so much trouble with backgrounds??

The characters are perfect and yet, I can't think of what I want to be going on behind them.

Any suggestions welcome cause I am at a loss.

Alright, I'm putting this up for a poll (cause I am indecisive about all of my art)...

Keeping in mind that @dragon-susceptible originally stated Elyrin is 5'10 with horns, vs Andromeda's 5'8.

Currently, I've accidentally made him around the same height as Runaan/Ethari (around 6ft)

Different Path AU OCs

I have . . . limited drawing skills (and frankly limited enjoyment of doing it) but HeroForge is amazing for giving a general idea of an appearance for OCs, so here's a couple I have already done.

Elyrin (Andromeda's husband the bard):

Please advise... Is it possible to delete an account on Fanfiction.net?

Because I am genuinely so sick of recieving scam private messages telling me that they "loved my work" (note they never specify title or spesific part) and that they "wish to do a creative exchange" (aka they are posing as artists asking for a commission, and will likely bail the second they get money out of me).

It has truly reached a point in which I don't want to write anymore. Because I can't tell if people are actually reading what I wrote, or if they just see my page and see their next victim.

I have had that account for over a decade, my first works are on there, and I don't want to give it up, but I don't see any other option.

Real Artists do not private message random people saying they'll create art of your work if you pay them. You commission them yourself, after researching and finding the artist you like best.

If AI scrapping doesn't scare me off, These Scammers will.
