Analog Diaries: Osaka x Portra 400
Looking back through my archives made me realize how much I love film. I kinda lost my drive to shoot film for the past weeks, but now I’m more energized to shoot more.
Took these shots around Osaka, Japan using my Nikon FM2 with a #Portra400 film. Portra never fails! Now, I miss Japan again. Take me back!

Chinese New Year Diaries (2020) //
I was browsing through my photos earlier, and realized that the CNY celebration a year ago hits different. It was the last major event I experienced before pandemic started. Taking photographs were easier, also there was an abundance of dancing dragons and lions. Unlike now, wherein street performers aren’t allowed because of the pandemic. This was my first time to miss CNY in Binondo since I don’t know when. Kinda feel sad, but better to be safe though. Gong Xi Fa Cai, everyone!

Analog Diaries: Osaka x Agfa Vista 400
It’s been almost a year since my last international travel. Wew. So here’s another throwback from my Osaka visit. Can’t wait to shoot more film.
Shot using #NikonFM2 with #AgfaVista40 // Can’t believe this film was discontinued. Still my favorite film.

Analog Memories from 2020 //
It’s been awhile since I last posted my film shots. So you might see more of these in the weeks to come. Here’s a set featuring my travel almost exactly a year ago in Benguet and Elyu. I can’t believe how time flies so fast. Also, I miss traveling.🥺

2020: The Year in Photos //
Best Viewed on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CJdhrdflXa1/?igshid=1qnpqmq7ttor4
2020 was indeed a tough year. Well, it started out perfect for me. Secured travels and projects that would keep me stable for months. But sadly the pandemic happened then the rest was history. But anyway, I’m here to share stories of what my 2020 was.
In January, I was able to do my annual Black Nazarene Procession photowalk. And looking back, I can’t imagine how/when we’ll be able to see and experience this again. Also during this month I was able to immerse with the coffee farmers of Kalsada Coffee in Belis. My love for coffee just grew by 1000% since I’m also working for the brand. I also started my monthly travels to Elyu (which ended in March). 2 of 3 travels were solo travels, and through these I was able to meet new friends from the northern community. I also continued my project spaces x portraits which I started December 2019. Thanks again to everyone who participated which lasted until March as well.
Just like prev. 2 months, March started out really well. And I never thought that my travel to Baguio and La Union at that time would be my last travel for the year. Then lockdown came. Got stuck at home until June. First thing I did when I went out was to walk around Downtown Manila since I clearly missed shooting around the area.
Despite all these misfortunes that happened, I’m glad that I was able to do some things for myself: create my firs photozine and finally create my own channel on youtube. Also thankful for brands who kept me and my Sino Pinas bros on top of their list for campaigns.
So I’m ending this 2020 with so much hope for 2021. I know things might be tougher but I just have to be strong and keep reminding myself why I should keep on doing things. Choose whatever makes you happy.

Pasay Sightings
A change of scenery from usual Manila-related photographs. So here are shots taken at the seaside area of the Mall of Asia.
I’m quite pleased that there were still lots of open space in this area which makes it safer than the crowded streets in other parts of the Metro. It’s also a nice breather from the heaviness that you get everyday. Also got surprised by the ship hanging in front of the seaside. It was a good subject tho for this walk.
Anyway, I hope you liked photographs from this set. I’ll be releasing a POV video this weekend using my Fuji Auto 8QD. So watch out!

Ma-Ma-Manila
Photos from my walk a week ago along Downtown Manila. Glad that light was great so I was able to capture well-lit and well-contrasted subjects. It’s always a great day to shoot when the sun is out. Just wishing for more days just like this. No more rains please. Praying for everyone affected by the typhoons that battered our country, Philippines. 🙏🏻

Experimenting with Lomochrome Purple XR 100-400 Part II
For this post, I highlighted the Lomochrome Purple XR 100-400 again. This time, I walked around the bay area of Pasay and interiors of @onezerodesignco in Escolta. It was nice to see these familiar places in a different light, or shall I say shade. Thanks to the purple tint brought by this amazing roll.
I also shared insights and tips if you want to try using the Lomochrome Purple XR 100-400.

Experimenting with Lomochrome Purple
If you don’t know, I’ve been shooting film for quite awhile now. I was only able to showcase my digital photography works most of the time. So I’m happy to create a video featuring analog.
So for this video, I highlighted the Lomochrome Purple XR 100-400. This was my first try in using an “out-of-the-box” film since I’m used to with Kodak Ultramax 400, Kodak Gold 200, and Fuji C200 (which are the most common and cheaper film stocks that can be found here).
I walked around the streets of Manila for this video. And I must say that this was the first time I saw Manila in shades of purple. HAHA. I’m really happy with the scans when I saw it.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one. Watch out for part 2 of my Lomochrome Purple feature for an in-depth analysis of the film, and more sceneries outside Manila featuring this purple film.

Video Photography Challenge Vid 002: Hong Kong
If you’ve been following me, you probably saw my “Travel Photography from Home” video featuring Osaka Japan. This time around I’ll be revisiting spots in Hong Kong via Google Maps’ Street View.
In my latest video, I revisited popular Instagram spots that we went to back in 2018. I’m happy that I got to see some of it again. Again, some images in the video credited to Google. Photos on this post were taken by yours truly.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed what I captured in Hong Kong. Let me know if you enjoyed this or planning to do this challenge as well.

How I Edit My Photos!
Friends were requesting me to do this for quite a while now so here we go! Just sharing with you all how I edit photographs that I upload on my social media sites. A lot might be surprised but I use VSCO camera to edit everything. Aside from the fact that it has 200+ filters, it also functions beyond that especially if you avail their subscription service. BTW, this is not a sponsored video. I just want to share my work flow when editing my photos.
Please watch the full video and subscribe to my Youtube channel!!😊❤️

Due to the pandemic, shooting outdoors on the streets is now quite difficult; what more traveling to international destinations or even just nearby provinces to capture refreshing sceneries.
On this video, I’ll share something fun that you can do from your own home. I know you also miss the outdoors. So why not do a virtual photography using the Google Maps’ street view option? This would not only let you see places you’ve been meaning to see, but this also allows you to practice your composition skills given the limited frame that Google Maps has.
For this virtual challenge I chose to revisit one of my favorite places, Osaka in Japan!
