Absolutely off topic besides your 'updates' list.... Queen of Shadows (I assume you're reading the Anne Bishop one) and all her other work in that series is phenomenal! Hope you're doing well! Juulna
Oh my gosh, I've (ironically) forgotten to update my 'Updates' list for so long! lol I was actually reading Queen of Shadows from Throne of Glass! I'll definitely have to check out Anne Bishop's book of the same title though, so thank you for the suggestion! So sorry that it took me a bit to respond to this, life has been crazy and I'm kind of in and out of Tumblr. I hope you're doing well too! 🖤

a few reminders because i’m tired and angry
fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism
adult women aren’t inherently creepy for being in fandom and having hobbies apart from raising babies and doing taxes
the vast majority of people pushing back against the worrying trend of instigating harassment over fictional characters and relationships aren’t incest supporters or pedophiles, actually
liking a m/f ship doesn’t make someone a dirty heterosexual invading your space
preferring gay ships doesn’t make you ‘’woke’’ and good
no one owes you a disclaimer that they are a good person who recognizes that their favorite fictional villain’s actions are evil and that they don’t condone those actions irl
liking a fictional villain is in no way comparable to advocating abuse/murder/genocide/etc and you’re a fucking idiot if you believe that
just because a woman is attracted to a fictional villain doesn’t mean she’s promoting toxic relationships or going to end up in a toxic relationship. assuming women can’t tell fiction and reality apart stinks of internalized misogyny
some rando’s a/b/o fanfics have none of the level of influence that popular tv shows and movies spreading propaganda have
no one owes you a detailed description of their traumas and mental health problems
abusive relationships are not the same as enemies to lovers ships
y’all need to chill the fuck out over people, relationships, actions and events that don’t actually exist and learn how to enjoy and discuss them like normal people
fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism
feel free to add more

I'm kind of obsessed with how Patrick Stewart is Not gay. He's literally straight he just acts like that. Ian McKellen is gay so it's easy to think logically that so is Patrick Stewart but he's not. Unparalleled. Don't call yourself an ally unless you kiss your gay friends on the mouth

Rey also deserved better.
Her entire arc was about how she was afraid of being alone, of being left behind.
Then she finally finds someone that changes that. She fights hard for him to become who he was always meant to be, she fights not to take his hand even though she wanted to.
Then she finds he's her dyad, her destiny, that their connection was meant to be. And then he fucking dies.
He dies and Rey is again alone, destined to live without half of her soul, wandering through life all by herself.
And tell me again why bother with the story progression at all if you're just going to destroy it?

the Federation itself as a concept is so funny because the founding members are
the Vulcans, who have been friends with humanity for years but don't seem to actually like them all that much, instead regarding them with a sort of perverse fascination usually reserved for virology labs
the Andorians, who were fighting the Vulcans for like a hundred years
the Tellarites, who don't like any of these people and whose cultural trait is arguing, and
humans, whom nobody knew existed until last century when they shot themselves into space on a heavily modified nuke, invented world peace and won a fight with the nearest imperial superpower
like imagine you're the Romulan Empire and these weird monkeys who've barely figured out interstellar travel show up on your doorstep in the equivalent of a shipping container with missiles strapped to it, kick your ass in front of everybody, and then start a friendship club with 3 of your neighbours who all hated each others' guts until like a year ago. now I understand why every Romulan on the show is so angry
