I Found You - Eddie Munson x Female OC
Ch.1 Ch.2 Ch.3 Ch.4
Chapter 5 - Demons
"You're not paying attention, Angels!" My head snapped back to reality, when my brain managed to register the annoying, high pitched girl voice next to me.
"Yes, two plus two equals four..." I mumbled.
"Very funny. It's not math, dumbo, it's history."
"Whatever you say."
"It would be a whole lot easier if you could quit your staring at that freak for a minute..!" I jolted a little bit more awake at that and turned my head towards her.
"He's not a freak.." I snapped. "And I'm not staring...!" I said low.
"You're drooling, it's disgusting really.." Stephanie continued. I sighed.
"You call him a freak as if that would define who he is, but have you ever really seen him, Stephanie? Your eyesight seems faulty, might need some glasses to fix that."
"I doubt there's anything he's good at, except having girls sleep with him..." She snorted. I shaked my head.
"He's not like that."
"Oh really? And you expect me to believe that? He's playing guitar where most students hangout, you know all guitarists get the girls, yeah? There's no coincidence he chooses to get his band gigs here, he wants to impress, and well, get laid. Word travels around fast in such a small town as this, he wants to promote his little band, no doubt. And sell."
"You're all so unfair towards him, he's really sweet, unlike all the other douchebags running this school..." I say. My eyes travelled back to Eddie, who's seemingly doodling away in his notebook without a care in this world. His hair hid his face away from the rest of the class, I'm sure he would look gorgeous in this moment, with his dark eyes focused on the task at hand, tongue slightly peeking out like it used to do when he was focused or deep in thought.
"Just be careful is all I'm saying, especially while being new around here. You don't want to fall in with the wrong kinds of people."
"You know, Stephanie, people like you, are what I consider the wrong people. You guys don't think about anyone but yourself and your own worth in others eyes. Isn't it exhausting, to never just having proper fun without worrying about looking silly? To never wear what you want, but what you have to wear? You guys are the reason the world stays the same. You walk the same, talk the same way and do everything the same. You're boring, and you punish other people just cause they're not like you. Well, thank fuck for that, cause I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I was."
"You already seem like a nerd, and you've been here for what.. Two weeks? You think you've the right to have an opinion here? You're just a nobody, and you've got no one to stand up for you. Besides, it's not like you're able to compete with anyone.."
"What do you mean..?"
"Girl, look at you. The way you dress says everything about you. You're hiding what you are; wich is just skin and bones. You sure you're nineteen? You look like you're twelve still, it's not like you've got anything to hide, there's no need for you to follow any dress code... No one will look at you anyways." Her words tore through my heart like a hot knife. She saw straight through me, right into the very deepest of my insecurities... Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but I would not give her the satisfaction of seeing them fall.
"You don't know what you're talking about.." I said sharply.
"Don't I? Both of us know that it's simply the truth.. You're worthless, and shouldn't even dare to think otherwise." I had to get out of here. I stood up, grabbed my things and left, I didn't even hear if the teacher had called my name.
My legs led me out of the school, straight into the forest. I went for as long as I could, until I collapsed against a tree trunk. It was so unfair! She had touched probably my weakest spot. My neverending feeling of never being feminine enough, or attractive enough just cause my body hadn't developed like it should've. There was a reason why I never wore dresses, why I didn't wear shirts with a low cut. Why I hated gymnastics class, having to change with everyone else afterwards... I felt so incredibly insecure in that regard, and it was a constant reminder when in these years, all what mattered to people was your cup size or what you looked like from behind. How your clothes hugged your figure. Girls loved to show their assets in any way, while all I felt was... dread, when people saw too much of me. I rested my head in between my arms, clutching my knees so hard it almost hurt. Of course no one would look at me, could I even be considered as a woman at this point..? There was nothing to show off if I had been chosen by anyone, I was just a hole to fuck..
"Hello?" A voice interrupted my thoughts yet again. This time it wasn't an annoying voice, but a sweet one. Please god, don't let him see me crying again..
"Mels, I know you're here. It's just me." I held my breath, waiting for the voice to disappear, but instead it sounded clearer.
"I just wanna check if you're okay, there's no judgement here." I tried to hide my sniffles, but at this point, there was no way for me to not get noticed.
"There you are.." Eddie crouched down at my level, and laid a hand atop my shoulder.
"P-please.. I don't want you to see me crying again..." I didn't lift my head up to look at him, I could only guess I looked terrible with my face all puffy and red, and eyes adorned with smudged mascara.
"Why not?" He asked softly.
"Bec- because it's embarrassing.."
"It's not... I don't know what that bitch said to you, but I saw just how much it affected you before you ran." I could hear how Eddie sat himself down in the grass next to me, his hand didn't leave my shoulder.
"Y-you saw?"
"Yeah, I did. I heard your voice sounding upset so I looked your way, and then you just left that girl at the desk."
"Oh.." I never realised the argument had gotten so loud.
"Wanna tell me what happened?" He asked after a while.
"Sh- she said bad things about you and I tried to defend you, and then she turned it all on me and-"
"You tried to defend me?" Eddie chuckled. "No, sorry sorry, that's not funny, then what did she say after?"
"Just the truth..." I said bitterly.
"The truth? Now you got me confused, sweetheart."
"She... said the truth about the way I look and how it would never impress anyone." I said low.
"I'm sorry, what?? What did she mean by that..?"
"You know.. I don't look like other girls so I wouldn't be able to compare to them and..."
"How do you not look like those other girls?" Eddie asked again, a slight anger prominent in his tone.
"I... well.. I don't look grown up enough because I'm skinny without curves, so she s-"
"Jesus H Christ..!" Eddie almost shouted out loud.
"But it's true so-" I continued. I removed my head from my arms, now looking at the ground instead.
"Holy shit... She doesn't have any right to make comments about your body like that..! That's.. so fucked up, it's so wrong, Mels, you do understand that, don't you?" I shrugged my shoulders in response. Eddie now moved over to my front, he grabbed onto both shoulders, gently shaking me as he spoke.
"Right.. You need to understand, what she's saying don't matter, okay? She's... a bully who wants to degrade you. You can't let her. You're so much better than her, yeah? She's just jealous of how pretty you are, cause you truly are, Melanie. Please believe me." I now gazed up at him, vision slightly blurred from the salty tears.
"You just don't understand... how much those words hit home, Eddie." I paused. "You think I haven't tried to tell myself that I'm good enough? Tried to convince myself that I can still live as a woman, without the proper body? That I can still enjoy women clothing, even if I don't fill a single piece out? That someone can look at me for even a split second, thinking I look hot? I look like a big child, Eddie, there's nothing worth to look at..." I averted my gaze. Eddie's face turned into a frown as I continued to babble, but his eyes looked sad. He shaked his head.
"Sweetheart, there's so much more to a girl than some stupid curves to ogle." I looked back at him. "Yeah, shocking, right? I'm a guy, I know how it all looks... Big tits, nice ass and there's a gold mine..? You got it all wrong, sweetheart. Not to say guys aren't like that, but most of us, don't care. It's the same as girls comparing dick sizes, alright? Everyone are judgemental, when it comes down to it. You wouldn't be less of a guy just cause your dick is small, so why should you be less of a woman for not having big bazookas up there..?"
"Or just being flat.." I muttered. He ignored my comment.
"See, what really matters, is not your tits size, but the size of what's behind.. And what's that? Your heart, Mels." One of his hands moved up to my cheek, and gently wiped away at some of the tears.
"And you have a great, big heart from what I've seen."
"I-" He shaked his head again, locks flying everywhere as he did so.
"No need to say anything, just come here..." He held out his arms, and slowly I fell into his chest, face buried into the crook of his neck.
"Such a sweet girl as you, with so many demons to fight..." He mumbled. "You shouldn't have to feel like this. Other girls aren't half as great, or beautiful as you, why should you feel like you ain't enough? You're more than enough."
"I just.. feel so incomplete.. worthless.. Feel like it's never gonna stop hurting.." Eddie held me tightly, while listening to my broken voice.
"I know, I know... I wish there was a way for me to help you... all I can do is be here and... hear you." We sat in silence, the only thing heard was the wind, rustling in the trees. I didn't know what I had done to deserve this man's kind heart and words. But I did know that right here, in the warm embrace of his I had found a safe space. I was mentally and physically intoxicated by him. And honestly, I didn't mind.
"You're okay..." He mumbled softly. Several minutes passed, until I finally gathered myself together enough to pull back slightly.
"Thank you.." I said low, slightly embarrassed.
"Of course." He scanned me over with a caring expression. "Hey you.. You wanna get out of here?" He asked.
"I think.. I think I just wanna go home." I answered. My gaze flickered around our surroundings for a brief moment, until it landed on Eddie again. "I don't- I don't wanna see her face again right now."
"Okay.. I can drive you?" He offered. I nodded.
"That would be nice. I appreciate it, thank you.."
"Nothing to thank me for, princess. Come on." He got up from the ground and offered me a gentle hand to help me up, then we both made our way out of the forest.
"Kevin, don't play with your food like that, how many times have I told you...!"
"But mom, I hate broccoli..! It's not.. cool." I looked up from my plate, listening with half an ear to the conversation around the table.
"You put the broccoli on the plate yourself, Kevin. We eat what we've gathered on it." Aunt Jo said sternly. Kevin made a sour face at her, continuing to pick on the vegetable with his fork.
"Mom, you never answered me before, I asked if I could go to Caroline's birthday party this weekend." My aunt sighed.
"I don't know, Stella. I think you're still too young for partying like that."
"But mom! Alison has also been invited, and Emma! It will look strange if I don't go.."
"You only wanna go cause Ian is gonna be there..." Kevin said.
"Who's Ian?" Aunt Jo asked and looked around at us all. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Ian Myers, Mrs Connie and Mr. Mitchell's son." Kevin informed.
"The couple who runs the hardware store? How old is he?" Aunt Jo asked.
"I think he's fifteen since he's a grade below me, isn't that right, sister?" Now Jackson threw himself into the conversation. Stella threw daggers into him with her look. He just smirked back at her.
"Fifteen?!" Aunt Jo exclaimed. "You're only thirteen, Stella!"
"And a half..." Stella muttered. "I'm old enough for boys, I'm not a child anymore!"
"I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear about boyfriends, or girlfriends, in this house, is that clear?" Aunt Jo let go of her knife with a clink.
"Then what about the guy who dropped off Mels this afternoon?" Jackson asked. He now looked at me with the same mischievous smirk. Oh fuck you..!
"See? She hasn't been here for even a month and she's already seeing someone!" Stella complained. "It's not fair!" Aunt Jo raised a hand to hush her.
"Melanie?" She clearly awaited an explanation.
"It's a guy from Hawkins High, we have a few classes together, that's all..."
"I think I recognised him, isn't he the famous "freak" of Hawkins? What's his name again... Elliot? Eric?" Jackson continued.
"Eddie." I corrected him.
"Oh yes that was it! Eddie Munson... Isn't he like.. a drug dealer or something if I recall correctly..?" I kicked his foot from under the table.
"A what now?!" Aunt Jo almost shouted.
"That's only rumours.." I said. "He's a nice guy."
"Nice in bed, too I bet...!" Jackson said, I slapped him on the arm, but he just giggled.
"Is this... Is this the same guy you were seeing the other night?" Aunt Jo asked me.
"Yeah... But we didn't do anything I swear! We just watched some TV and had dinner with his uncle."
"His uncle? Where are his parents?"
"His mom.. died, many years ago, his dad.. I don't know. He never mentioned him." I lied. Half lied, anyway. They did not need to know that his father was behind bars. Not his too.
"See, doesn't that already tell you enough..." Jackson mocked.
"Where does he live?" Aunt Jo ignored Jackson's comment.
"Forest Hill trailer park." I answered, looking down at my half empty plate.
"Good lord, that place is full of drunkards and god-knows-what kind of people..." Aunt Jo rambled.
"Believe what you want..." I muttered, as I drenched a piece of potato in gravy, shoving it into my mouth.
"Oooh, she's in loove...!" Jackson sang. I swallowed quickly.
"Am not!"
"You're one hundred percent down bad for the metalhead freak..!" I let go of my fork and raised from my chair, to properly slap the back of his head.
"Ow!" He raised his arms in defeat. "Okay okay, I'll shut up!"
"That's enough you two!" Aunt Jo shouted. I glared angrily at Jackson, until I decided to grab my plate and silverware and leave the table.
"Thank you for dinner. I'm going up to my room." I said cooly.
I laid on my bed, with Status Quo blasting in my ears, a lollipop in my mouth, and my character sheet in front of me. So far it was decided I was a level eight half elf wizard, with cantrips fire bolt, bone chill and blade ward. There was also some lore written down, but it would be too long to explain. I smiled down at the page, knowing wich parts Eddie had written down cause of his handwriting. A finger slid gently over his neat letters. I had never felt so seen before I met him. I had never felt so calm yet nervous at the same time. He had awakened something in me already, something I couldn't really put into words. Was it attraction? Or was it just me attaching myself to the only friendship I had? Attaching myself to the only attention I got... Surely enough, I did find him really attractive. Sexy, even. I didn't have enough experience to know what my type was, but something definitely drove me towards him. Not just his looks, of course, I loved his persona, his humor (even if it was dirty as fuck), I loved his laugh. His voice overall, there was something about it. He was rough around the edges yet still soft as honey... Wait, was that a knock on my door? I sharpened my hearing to try and hear outside of the music, but it seemed silent, so I went back to my thoughts. Oh and I loved his style as well, his ripped, tight jeans... his rings... god those rings. And those hands... His lips. I pictured it all in front of me, and caught myself biting down on my bottom lip. Now you're just being inappropriate. Shit!
"MELANIE!" The voice tore through me and snapped me out of my daydreaming. I pulled down my headphones immediately. I could still hear the music blasting out of them.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you..." I excused myself. Aunt Jo stood with crossed arms, and she let out a heavy sigh.
"I could tell." She said. She gestured towards my bed. "May I?" I nodded silently. She sat down next to me, I propped myself up on one elbow. It took a few moments until she said anything.
"You should know, I'm just worried for you, honey. I don't want anything bad to happen if there is something I could do to prevent it."
"I know, Aunt Jo..." I said low. She laid a hand on top of my leg.
"Please, call me Josephine, dear, there's no need for formalities now... Not after everything that happened. I'm your family after all... Now more so than I've ever been." I nodded.
"I know..." She paused again.
"Was there a reason he drove you all the way here so early?" She asked. I took my time to respond.
"A girl was being mean to me and well he.. He helped me out of the chaos." Aunt Jo's face softened, and she looked worried.
"What did this girl say to you? I mean, you're usually good at standing up for yourself, am I right?" I Looked down, now it was my turn to let out a sigh.
"She.. she mocked the way my body's built, pretty much calling me a child... It... it affected me pretty bad. It's something I've felt insecure about far too long."
"The way your body's built?" She repeated. "What's wrong with how you look? I can only see a beautiful, grown up woman in front of me..."
"Not grown up enough..." I mumbled. "I don't have any breasts to talk about, I'm flat as a fuckass cutting board. My behind's pretty... small too." Tears pricking at the corner of my eyes again. I couldn't even utter the words out loud without turning into a crybaby, great...!
"My sweet child..." Aunt Jo crawled up to me, now embracing me in a hug.
"There's nothing wrong with you, dear. If anything you should be proud of yourself, proud of the body you have, proud to be such a fighter. I remember when you were little, oh you were just skin and bones the summers you were here... Look at you now! I can only see how far you've come, the accomplishments you continue to achieve. Be proud that you're still here after everything you've gone through." She was right, of course. I had been battling with an eating disorder all my life pretty much. No one knew what I had, or how to get rid of it. Those times it was really bad, I couldn't eat solid food at all, I only drank, I could have some occasional chocolate since it just melted in my mouth, and was prescribed medical nutritional drinks in order to not lose too much weight. I still had the disorder, so I wasn't free of it, but it would show itself much less than when I was a kid. I probably had the eating disorder to thank for not developing properly, I was probably too malnourished at the time to gain any additional fats on my body. My period still worked, thankfully, despite everything. But even with an explanation for my sad shape, it didn't make me feel any better.
"I just wish I looked... normal." I sniffled. Aunt Jo's fingers threaded carefully through my hair, in this moment I felt like a kid again, seeking the consolation in an adult's embrace.
"You look normal, darling, you look beautiful, just the way you are." She held me for as long as my tears fell. She released me slowly, and put a hand on my shoulder.
"Next time something like this happens, do tell me straight away, okay?" She paused. "I don't want you to be alone in this, if someone's being nasty, I'll have to make a call in order to stop it."
"I wasn't alone... Not today. Cause of-"
"Eddie." Aunt Jo and I finished the sentence simultaneously.
"I just want you to be careful, honey. Boys that age... it's all-"
"Sex, drugs and popularity on their mind." I finished. "I know. But he... Eddie is different. Kind."
"That's what they want you to think.." She said low. "But, I'll let you see for yourself, you're old enough. But be careful, yeah?" I nodded.
"Of course." She kissed my forehead and slid off the bed.
"Don't stay up too late." I smiled.
"I'll go to bed soon, promise." I said.
"See you tomorrow." Aunt Jo went and closed the door behind her. I threw myself on my back, then rolling over to my side. I was not tired yet, but I knew what, or who, I wanted to dream about tonight.

I Found You - Eddie Munson x Female OC
Ch.1 Ch.2 Ch.3 Ch.5
Chapter 4 - Optimistic
After my slight panic attack, I noticed that Eddie became more quiet. He turned into this soft, sugar sweet boy who needed to make sure I felt okay and safe. He even made me watch Lord Of The Rings with him on the TV, he told me it was one of his favorite movies. I had to agree with him; it was very good indeed. As the movie ended he told me to pick another one, I happily chose "Grease". He rolled his eyes dramatically and whined a little about it at first but then he finally caved in. I smiled sweetly as he sat himself down on the sofa again. When about half of the movie had played, Eddie fetched us both a blanket to share, as the trailer had little to no heating system, and to my surprise, that horrible sticky hot weather had totally disappeared with the sun's absence. We quickly discovered it wasn't big enough to reach the end of the sofa. We looked at each other for a few seconds and then he motioned for me to come over to his side.
"You sure it's okay?" I asked.
"Yeah of course, don't want you freezing cold, sweetheart." I crawled over to him and he laid down more comfortably, reaching one arm out to pull me onto his chest.
"I can't believe you're actually still warm." I mumbled as he dragged the soft fabric on top of us. He had actually discarded his jacket and vest by now and was wearing his Hellfire Club-shirt.
"It's cause I'm naturally hot, of course." He jokingly said and flipped his dark curls. I giggled, although I couldn't disagree on that.
"Sure." I said, eyes on the screen. Not even five minutes passed until he spoke again.
"I mean come on, you'd rather have me right now instead of eye-shagging that nasty-looking-short-haired dude on the telly, you just won't admit it."
"You said I did what?" I casted him a quick glance before returning to the movie.
"Eye-shagging that Danny Zuko-dude." He repeated, forming the words slowly.
"I am not "eye-shagging" anyone!" I defended myself, now looking up at him fully. This time his eyes actually made me stop breathing for a second as he stared right into my own with them. Could they just stop being so fucking beautiful? And his lips, slightly parted, glossy looking. How could they appear so shiny without any lipgloss? I wondered if they would feel like he wore lipgloss though, or maybe they'd be more dry..?
"You so are! Right now may I add.." He teased. I quickly stopped staring at his beautiful features.
"God, just shut up, Munson!" I turned back to hide the blush I felt on my face. There was a pause.
"Make me." I looked up yet again and saw him smiling down at me, movie completely forgotten right now.
"Oh you'll regret that, Eddie Munson." If he wanted to play that game, then so would I. I grabbed a pillow from the sofa's edge, firmly pressing it over his face. I felt his muffled laugh under it and before I could register what happened he brought himself up slightly, easily removing the pillow during the moment I lost control. Soon we were indulging in this decade's biggest pillow-fight. Gone were the barriers of maturity, it's like time travelling back to when me and Jackson were kids, a simpler time, before everything happened.. Wich reminded me..
"You know, Eddie, you still haven't told me how old you actually are.." Eddie stopped in his tracks, gripping the pillow he was holding with both of his hands and looked down at it for a moment.
"I'm turning twenty-one this fall." His eyes went up to meet mine. "Pathetic, right? Go on, laugh at me, I am the biggest failure.." Saying it out loud must've been really hard for him, as I noticed his hands slightly started to shake after a while.
"Eddie.." My voice softened. Now it was my turn to comfort him.
"Eddie, look at me." He took no notice of me and continued to babble nonsense.
"But I mean, how could I ever think that I would have a future.. That I would finally pass, what would make this year any different from the previous ones? I'm a Munson, after all.." I sighed.
"Christ sakes.. Eddie!" He finally looked up and met my gaze.
"You are not a failure. Look, I'm sure you have your reasons as to why you've been having struggles with your studies.. but those ain't reasons to call yourself unworthy."
"But.."
"Nuh uh, none of that now. You can fix this, if you really want to. Remember that."
"I'm just... so unmotivated about school. All topics are just boring and I lose focus like, instantly cause I'm simply not interested."
"I know... But maybe I could help you, and in turn, you help me with Dungeons and Dragons." Eddie seemed to think for a moment, he looked uncertain wether to give himself over to studying or not.
"Fine, it's a done deal. On one condition... You'll let me teach you some guitar too.."
"Let you? I'd absolutely love to have you as my personal guitar coach..!" He smiled, and his eyes lit up as he did so.
"Okay, princess. Now.." He threw the pillow at me. "..how about we keep watching this movie?" I nodded in agreement, settling back against the sofa, yet again creeping closer to him for warmth after a while. I don't remember when, but sometime before the movie ended I dozed off, to the sound of Eddie's calm breathing and steady heartbeat.
"Kiddos?" I jolted awake at the sound of a man's voice. My brain took some moments to gather the information. Where was I? Wait a minute, I was in Eddie's trailer, the voice.. It was his uncle Wayne. And.. I looked down. ..I was still laying atop of his nephew's chest. And Eddie himself, seemed to be asleep, still.
"Morning." I say, cringing at my morning voice.
"Didn't mean to disturb you, but I'm heading out for work so, won't be here to wake you up for school." He looked at his nephew. "Eds, you heard me too, didn't ya?" Eddie groaned in response, eyes half open, and flipped him the bird. Wayne chuckled.
"You'll take care of him, am I right?" He smiled. "See you later." Wayne grabbed his keys out of his jacket pocket and left.
"We should get up." I said, slowly detangling Eddie's legs and arms from mine. Eddie just mumbled something I couldn't make out. I climbed down from him, leaned over and, blew right into his face.
"Up with you..!" His eyes opened, and his gaze focused on me.
"You're lucky you don't suffer from bad morning breath, or else.." He said. God his raspy morning voice was actually so sexy...
"You're lucky I didn't shout in your ear.." I corrected him.
"Touché." He sat himself up, yawned and rubbed his face.
"Just give me a moment.. I'm awake." He smiled at me patiently waiting.
"Good. Now what do we do? We don't have to be there for about two hours, and it takes fifteen minutes to drive, tops."
"I'd say.. let's start with breakfast, yeah?" Eddie got up from the sofa completely, leading us towards the kitchen. He looked around in the fridge and cupboard for something suitable as breakfast.
"So.. I could do bacon, or I could try my hand at pancakes yet again.. We did have bacon yesterday so that might be too repetitive.."
"Pancakes, if you really insist on making them? Besides, I wanna see how good of a cook you actually are." He smirked quickly.
"I won't disappoint you. I may not have.. the best range in dishes but, I'm hella good at the things I actually know." He started to gather the ingredients; flour, sugar, eggs and milk and placed them neatly on the counter.
"Can I help?" I asked.
"No I'm good. Why don't you go use the bathroom while I get this going, it's down the hall to your right."
"Okay." I scurried off in that said direction. It didn't take me long to get done, and then I got stuck admiring his cologne collection and the hair products scattered all around. He really did love his curls huh..
"Mels? Breakfast is all done!" Eddie called out from the living room. I followed the lovely smell, leading up to a nicely set table in front of the TV. He'd even folded up the blanket nicely and fixed the pillows.
"Wow, look at you, Eds.. Really nailing the house-man look.."
"I know right, now, come take a bite before they get cold and crusty." He handed me the plate.
"First ones got a bit burnt but.. This one's looking real pretty." He smiled proudly. "Now, I didn't know what you wanted with them so I just got a bit of everything for ya. Don't worry; I checked the dates." He really had gotten about everything ready at the table. There was syrup, sugar and three jars with different types of jams.
"That's really thoughtful of you.. I'll take the first bite without anything though, for the ultimate experience."
I grabbed the fork, quickly cutting a piece off before shoving it into my mouth. He didn't lie. They were perfect, not too salty, a mixture between crispy and soft. I swallowed and couldn't hold back my grin.
"Wow, Eddie Munson, you really do know how to make pancakes. I'd take my hat off for you, if I had one."
"Told ya." He grinned back and fixed his curls even if he didn't need to. They always laid neatly and framed his face perfectly, it was almost unfair how he was just so naturally gorgeous, even without trying.
We finished our pancakes in comfortable silence.
"I can do the dishes now, since you did the cooking. Your turn to do your bathroom routine." I pointed with the fork.
"You really don't have to.."
"I want to. Here." I offered to take his plate, he did hand it over, but the look on his face was not completely satisfied.
"Off you go." I waved him off, heading for the sink.
"You missed a spot.." Eddie teased as he reappeared in the kitchen a few minutes later, he pointed with a ring clad finger at the front plate that stood to dry. I swat his arm away playfully.
"Don't you dare."
"Oh, I dare. That's the issue, Angel." He smirked. "I dare.. far too much."
"Don't I already know it..." I mumbled under my breath.
"What was that?"
"Huh? Nothing to worry your pretty head about."
"Aww, she called me prettyyy..." He half-sang. He smiled with the entirety of his face, his eyes sparkled.
"Yeah yeah, take that compliment will ya." I grabbed ahold of the arm I just swatted away, and looked at his watch.
"One hour until we need to head out. What shall we do?" I asked him. He bit his bottom lip in thought.
"I know, we could begin those guitar lessons I promised..." He looked at me with hope written all over his face now.
"Sure." We headed for his room again, oh shit, the handcuffs, again. I looked at them briefly, before averting my gaze. It's like they haunted me, every time I stepped through that door. I think Eddie caught me staring, as I saw his head turn around just in time.
"Something the matter?" He asked, I could hear the smile throughout his question.
"No.. not at all."
"...They're not for catching baddies, in case you wondered."
"Oookay I got that and no I didn't, thank you next question." I mentally punched myself. Should've said "no question", dipshit. And, of course, he took advantage of that answer. Go fucking figure.
"Another question..? Hmm let me see." He dragged the moment out purposely. "So, what did you think they were for, then?"
"Do you even want me to answer that question, Eds..?"
"Why yes I do, would be interesting to hear what image you've got of me so far, other that I am a hot as fuck Dungeon Master, a great cook and dreadfully skilled with my fingers..." He wiggled his eyebrows as he said that part.
"Oh for fucks sake..." I knew I blushed hard, it's not like I hadn't thought about it, when I saw his fingers move so effortlessly over the fretboard.. I'm just a woman, leave me be.
"You seem awfully keen on discussing this topic, Munson. Not getting enough bitches or something?" I picked up a plectrum atop his amp, playing around with it in between two fingers.
"I- wow, you're direct. Ehm, I prefer not to answer that, sweetcheeks. Think I'll leave you with the question, having you think about my... ...more primal urges, when I ain't around."
"You're a menace, Eddie Munson..!" I threw the pick at him. We laughed. Then his tone turned serious. Well, still in a playful way, of course.
"Hey! Be careful with those, there's no way I'm letting them disappear with the cause of someone else..." He picked the plectrum up and bit down on it, leaving it there as he lifted two guitars down, the Warlock for himself of course, and a black and white Stratocaster for me. He went to grab another cable, and cussed like a sailor when he returned with a truly tangled up monstrosity.
"Goddamn.. you piece.. of shit.. Get the fuck..!" He was breathless as he pulled and twisted the cable for all he was worth. Listening to his sounds was kinda... hot? Fuck, he'd rubbed it over on me, his.. "primal urges" so called..
"Fucking finally..!" He plugged the cord in to both guitars. He handed me the same pick I had thrown at him earlier, knowing the fact he'd just had that in his mouth.. I swallowed, and almost choked on my own saliva as he ripped off a plectrum from a necklace he had around his neck, hidden underneath his Hellfire shirt. That was undeniably hot, like what did I just witness.. Jesus take the goddamn wheel... Or actually this did not involve Jesus, at all.
"Okay, sweetheart, let's see.. what you've got. You know the basics, right? Like, the A to G scale?" I nodded.
"I know some power chords too, but I fucking hate the standard F chord. My fingers just.. they don't work.
"They.. don't work?" Eddie chuckled and easily hit a clean F chord.
"Yeah no.. But you're a man so it's easy for you, you got more strength in that regard. Or your fingers are just.. longer." Eddie looked at his left hand, still keeping the same shape. And then looked over at me, trying my best to make that said shape.
"Hmm, no my fingers are not much longer than yours.. thicker perhaps but, maybe it's about strength like you said, or..." He leaned over, now placing the other plectrum in between his lips, and scooted close enough to be able to reach around my hand, moving my thumb up more.
"...you're putting too much pressure on your wrist like that." He finished his sentence, talking through his teeth biting down on the plastic. I tried to not focus on how soft and warm his hand felt, but on how the pressure did release slightly. I smiled slightly in disbelief.
"No way it's that easy..." Eddie released my hand and retrieved the plectrum.
"When you're gigging, standing up, you learn new things about techniques." He pointed towards the neck of the guitar in my lap. "And this... is a true game changer. Being able to master it sitting as well as standing, is an incredible power."
"So... you're out gigging now?" I asked. He nodded.
"I'm in a band, "Corroded Coffin". We play at The Hideout on tuesdays." He pointed towards the wall, with a hanging poster of the band's name.
"That's.. awesome!" I exclaimed.
"We're not Metallica, obviously, and we have about five... drunks in the crowd. But.. gotta start somewhere, right so..." He looked away from the poster. "...You should come see us sometime.."
"You inviting me to a concert?" I asked, unable to not smile.
"Oh yeah, totally. Maybe you'll get some extra benefits, being backstage and all.. Free of charge, of course."
"That sounds awesome, I'll come, definitely."
"I'm sure you will..." Eddie looked at me intensely, a huge grin slowly spreading across his face.
"You're so dirty, I can't with you..." I smiled down at the floor.
"And you love it." He grinned. "Okay, back to this." He gestured towards his guitar.
"What do you wanna learn?"
"I've... I've always been a fan of the intro and riff in Master Of Puppets." I admit.
"Ah yes, it's only the best creation out there." Eddie said. "So, at full speed it sounds like this.." He played the riff, not even averting his gaze from mine a single time, like it was the easiest thing in the world.
"And now.. we slow it down.." My gaze now travelled to his fingers instead, taking note of how he plucked the strings and where they were pulled off/hammered on. It was still hard to keep up.
"Well, shit." I sighed.
"You'll get the hang of it, sweetheart. Here." He once again moved in closer, dropped his guitar on the floor and moved in behind me.
"Don't mind me being here, just focus on what I'm telling you to do. May I?" I nodded nervously.
"Okay so first..." He moved my fingers gently and angled the plectrum slightly. Then he continued to guide me, I made a lot of mistakes, of course.
"This is not master of puppets anymore, it's disaster of muppets..." I complained and couldn't contain my giggles at the joke. Eddie laughed too. His laugh made me feel warm inside.
"Nooo, you're doing good, angel, just keep going..." We continued the picking exercise he had set me on, slowed down, of course. It wasn't easy by any means. But slowly, there was some progress made, at least with the intro.
"You're getting it, girlie!" Eddie made a fist in the air.
"I've forgotten it all by tomorrow though..."
"Nonsense, and if that's the case, we'll repeat it all over again... ...until it sticks."
"I love how optimistic you are... and speaking of optimistic, you're clearly a time optimist as well, we need to go, like, now!" Thanks to the clock on his wall, I'd spotted it just in time, it was currently 8:43 AM.
"Holy shit...! Yeah you're right...!" He double checked the time on his wrist. "C'mon!" We dropped the guitars, and he grabbed his jacket off his bed. We sprinted out to his van, however, he had to run back cause he forgot to lock the trailer up. He jumped into the driver's seat, panting and sweating as he started the engine.
"You're clearly short of exercise." I joked, but there was some meaning behind it.
"How dare you?! I think it's fine. Besides, ain't nothing wrong with my stamina yet though so..."
"But that's exactly what's wr-" I paused. "Oh you didn't mean-"
"You know what I meant, princess..." I rolled my eyes at him.
"How am I gonna survive a whole ride with you?" We both burst out into laughter.

I Found You - Eddie Munson x Female OC
Ch.1 Ch.2 Ch.4 Ch.5
Chapter 3 - The Castle
"Welcome to my castle, princess." Eddie hopped out of the driver's seat once he'd turned the engine off. In a heartbeat, he was at the passenger door, holding it open for me. I looked around at my surroundings, Eddie lived in a trailer park, named Forest Hill, according to the sign I'd spotted. Eddie held out his arm for me to take , and I gladly accepted it. Once again he fumbled in his pockets until he got the keys into his free hand and unlocked the trailer. He pushed the door open.
"Ladies first." I walked inside, instantly hit by the smell of tobacco, alcohol and a vague scent of vanilla. To say I was surprised by the trailer's spaciousness on the inside would be an understatement. The hallway, kitchen and livingroom were all merged into one room. There was a good amount of space in the kitchen area, also to my surprise.
"It ain't much but.. that's all I've got, sweetheart." I could tell Eddie was nervous about bringing me here. He fidgeted with his rings as his eyes flickered around the room, afraid of spotting a mess probably.
"It's really cool, Eddie." I said. He looked at me like if I was a complete idiot calling the trailer, his home "cool".
"I mean it, Munson. Way cooler than living at your parents house and not doing shit."
"Well I uh, I live with Wayne, my uncle, but he's at work most of the time, so I am pretty much free to do whatever I want, whenever I want."
"Must be a really badass uncle, Eds, look at those!" I pointed to a bunch of caps and hats hanging on the left wall, right by the door. Eddie's face turned slightly pink and he scratched his neck.
"Well uhm, I suppose.." He paused. "Oh and, you can leave your shoes here by the way." He took off his own sneakers as he spoke.
"..Right! Of course." I took my boots off as well. Eddie looked at me for a moment.
"M'kay so, right this way." Eddie guided me to a small hallway (jesus how big was this trailer??) reaching what I assume was his room.
"Don't be scared, you can walk right in." Eddie plopped up on his bed and stretched out his body, leaning against the wall behind him.
It was nothing I hadn't expected, a regular guy's room, posters on the walls, bunch of cd's laying all over the floor. I looked over to his closet, a pair of handcuffs hung from the left side. Wait, what? What did he..? No. I blushed and averted my gaze, spotting something else.
"..No way. There's no fucking way." I walked over to the wall right in front, transfixed with the object in front of me. I saw my own reflection in the mirror behind it and I also saw Eddie's. I met his gaze.
"Is this yours?" I asked.
"All mine, sweetheart. You can touch it if you want, it won't burn you, even though it looks like it might do." He chuckled at his own joke, referring to the crackled red and black finish on the guitar that resembled lava. My fingers lightly slid over the strings. I hummed in approval. I hadn't even noticed Eddie rising from his bed and approaching from behind, therefore it took me by surprise when his right hand met my own as he reached up.
"Easy there, didn't mean to scare you. I'm just.. taking it down for you." He lifted the B.C Rich Warlock model down, with one hand only.
"Do you play?" He asked me as he handed the heavy thing over, studying me curiously.
"A little. Obviously not as good as you though, Jesus fucking Christ, Munson, these cost a fortune.. Never thought I'd see one in person. Let alone touch one..! " Now Eddie was the one to blush and avert his gaze.
"Well I eh, only paid for half of it, Wayne gifted it to me by paying the rest.
"Still, Eddie, that's a whole lot of money.. Wow. Play something for me, please?" I held out the guitar for him.
"Right here, now?" Eddie seemed surprised.
"Yes of course I mean now." He took the guitar in his hand again.
"Okay.. I can do that. I can do that." He spoke the last line to himself as he walked over to his amp, plugging the cord in, tuning the instrument up before turning up the gain. He laid the strap over himself.
"What do you wanna hear?"
"Anything. Anything that comes to mind." He nodded, playing around on the fretboard looking for inspiration. Then it was like he stepped into his own world as he started to play the solo of "Master Of Puppets." for me, a second time, but this being in person. I was in awe, at loss for words, the contrast between hearing him play live, and listening to the track in his van was so big. The world around us was gone in a split second and there was just me, him and the music. His fingers worked seamlessly, and I was gone. His hands looked so attractive in this very moment, even though they always did with those rings and all but, right now they were the fingers of a master, not a dungeon master but a master of music, a legend, a god. His body shook with the rhythm, his hair fell around his face that had concentration written all over. His tongue was stuck in between his teeth, sweat started to make his skin shimmery and red.
His eyes were closed and his long dark lashes casted a shadow onto his cheeks. He looked beautiful, peaceful. Just by being himself. Nothing and no one to hold him back, to try and convince him of all the wrongs in his heart. He's not a freak, he is not a nobody, he is somebody, and that's what they're afraid of; difference, meaning, passion, dreams. And he had it all.
The last string rang out, and I was back in Eddie's trailer. Slowly he seemed to drift back as well, his head lifted and his gaze landed on me. I breathed out, not even aware of the tension I had built up inside. I shouldn't be breathless, I had just been standing in my spot..?
"So.. How was I?" Eddie said, half a smile playing at his lips. He knew. Oh he knew so well what he did.
"Well.. I.. You're good, Eddie. Really good." I pointed my finger at him as I punctuated my next meaning. "Just be glad I'm a woman of honor, if I wasn't I had been throwing myself all over you right now, like one of those bimbos on a rock concert, and that is not like me at all." I said it way more out of breath than I would've wanted to. Eddie's head was bowed down as he spoke, I heard him smile all the way through it.
"What a compliment.. Thank you, I am very much honored." He switched off his amp and returned the guitar to its place. I heard him muttering something as he did, but I could only make out the words "glad", "honorable", "opposed" and "idea".
"What?" I said as he turned back.
"What?" He repeated.
"You said something..? "
"I don't think I did..? No I didn't." He decided to go for the easy way out and went back towards his bed, grabbing a notebook from the desk on the way. He returned to his former position against the wall.
"Come here and we'll work on your character sheet, Mel." He clapped the spot next to him. "Obeey your maaster." He said with a playful twinkle in his eyes.
"Very funny." I rolled my eyes at him before I sat down next to his lean frame. I watched him write down the template in the notebook, unconsciously leaning against him as I watched. After a while of laying out the fundamentals of the character, I noticed he still wore his leather jacket underneath the denim vest.
"Jesus, do you ever take these things off? No wonder you were sweating like a pig playing that solo." He shaked his head, lost in fixing the page. "Nope"
"I can literally feel the heat radiating off of you, Eds!"
"I'm good, plus, the window's open." He pointed to his window without looking up.
"You'll soak down both me and yourself, it's like, fifty degrees in here!" I complained.
"You're welcome to undress me yourself if it bothers you so much, I am busy right now as you probably can tell." He continued with what he was doing, not realising what he said until I started giggling.
"Shit no I didn't mean it like that..!"
"No it's okay I could definitely do that.." We both started laughing. His laugh was joyful and contagious, wich only made me laugh more. I looked at him through half-lidded, teary eyes, his guard was all down right now. I quickly decided that I liked this guy's presence, a lot.
I don't know for how long we sat there in the same spot, him explaining the rules of Dungeons and Dragons, us creating and drawing while cracking jokes here and there. But it must've gotten pretty late as we were interrupted mid-convo by a door slamming shut. And then a voice.
"Eddie? Eds? You home? I'm back early."
"Yea I'm in here, Wayne!" Eddie called back to his uncle. Soon after a head popped through the door.
"He- Oh helloo." He noticed me sitting there on Eddie's bed. I waved at him as casual as I could.
"Hi, nice to meet you." I said.
"Certainly, I-" He looked over to Eddie with a puzzled look. "Didn't know you had a friend over. A girl." He added, his gaze a little bit too intense on Eddie.
"This is Melanie." Eddie introduced me. "She goes to Hawkins High. And we are just studying, so whatever assumption you made up already is not true." Eddie brushed him off. Wayne let out a little chuckle at that.
"Of course. Studying. You actually trying to graduate this year then, Edward? If I recall correctly you said same thing last year.."
"Wayne..!" Eddie shot him a meaning look.
"Right. I thought kids thought it was cool nowadays to bend the rules.. Don't let me keep ya." Wayne gave a clap to Eddie's shoulder as he went to leave. "I'll be making scrambled eggs and bacon for dinner if that's to your interest?"He added.
"Yea, that's fine." Eddie said, looking at me as his uncle left.
"Right?" He asked me.
"Huh?"
"Eggs and bacon, might not be the ideal food for a lady I mean." I huffed.
"Look, I'd love to stay but I should get back home." Eddie's gaze drifted to the window.
"In the dark? I'd happily drive you, sweetheart, but these roads are not reliable these late hours and well uh, I need to fix my broken headlights.." I sighed.
"You can call them? Tell them you'll be back tomorrow."
"Yea.." I said low. I knew that this was going to cause hell. I always tended to the kids in the mornings before the school bus came to pick them up, wich nowadays only included making them breakfast, as they both were getting too old for babysitting. Aunt Josephine worked many hours a day, sometimes even taking on night shifts, she was a nurse and barely got any time off. Her ex husband/boyfriend, Thomas, could only do so little to help out with the family, he had a busy life as a cop. And my half-brother, Jackson, really couldn't give less of a crap. He was everything I wasn't; outgoing, outspoken with little to no filter, out doing god knows what during weekdays and weekends and he never made an attempt to change, despite everything that happened back home. Sometimes he acted friendly and almost caring, other times he probably wished away my existence, that's the way it was with siblings, I guess. Anyways, I wanted to try and be a normal young girl for once, no drama, no obligations. Cause technically I wasn't an adult yet. In a year though, I'd have to deal with all those boring grown-up things, but I could do it on my own conditions. No one to tell me what to do, except the law maybe but, that does not count. I swallowed thickly before I nodded, looking into Eddie's gorgeous eyes. The lamp on his nightstand made the warm hues of them become more prominent, they looked lighter, softer. Like dark honey, like pure amber..
"So?" His voice snapped me out of my trance.
"I'll do it." I said. He smiled.
"M'kay. I'll show you to the telephone." He got up from the bed and I followed him out to the hallway. He pointed to the telephone sat on the wall.
"There you go. I'll give you some space." Eddie excused himself and scurried away towards the kitchen. I dialed the number, heart beating near my throat. Way too many signals went by. Please pick up please pick up please pickup dammit..! Then finally I heard the crackle as the phone was lifted from the other end.
"Hello?" Josephine. I cleared my throat.
"Hi, it's me.." I began.
"About time you reached out! I had to cancel my shift in the middle of the day to pick up Stella and Kevin from school, because guess what? You were nowhere to be found and there was nowhere to call..!" She immediately started yelling at me, just like I expected.
"I know, Aunt Josephine, and I'm sorry. I went home with a ..friend, after school and completely lost track of time. I'll be home by tomorrow." I said, biting my lip in wait for her response.
"Tomorrow? My shift starts at six, young lady."
"I can't get home now, Josephine, there is no way, Eddie's headlights aren't functioning properly so it'd be dangerous to go at this hour."
"Eddie? So it's a he then?"
"Well, yes.." I said nervously.
"Do you even know this guy? That you're apparently going to spend the night with, I take it?" I rolled my eyes at her even though she couldn't see it.
"He goes to my school so we've talked long enough, he's not like any other guy- no we are not going to sleep together if that's what you're insinuating- plus, do you really think I would've agreed to stay if it was someone I didn't feel completely safe with?"
"Don't you take that tone with me, young lady. You are not an adult and I am responsible if anything goes wrong.."
"Goes wrong." I repeated. "Oh please, you mean me getting knocked up? You know I'm not that dense, Aunt Jo, cut me some slack..!" My voice lowered into almost a whisper-yell; I started to get really annoyed at this point. I took a deep breath to put myself together for a moment.
"Listen, I haven't touched a single drop of alcohol, smoked or hooked up with guys ever in my life. And you think you should be worried about me? How about you have a go at my wonderful brother instead?" I snapped.
"He is sixteen, Melanie."
"So what? Even more reason to keep track of his whereabouts. You know exactly what I'm talking about. I am twenty next year, Jackson's got a few more years with you in charge. Remember, I used to be the one stuck looking after him, it's your turn now. Don't let him end up like our dad." I finished the call, not even waiting for her response. I leaned against the wall, trying to cool down. My breaths were shallow and my heart was beating fast. It had been a long time since I lost my temper like that.
"You ok?" Eddie turned up around the corner.
"I'm fine. Just.. dandy." I replied. He didn't look convinced. He stepped closer, looking me over.
"I don't believe you, Princess, but you can tell me all about it later, you don't want cold food." He gently grabbed my arm and ushered me towards the dinner table. Wayne looked up from his plate.
"Trouble back home?" He asked. I sat down, letting out a sigh.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that, don't worry about it, she'll calm down, soon enough." I bit into a bacon piece, the salty, spicy taste allowing me to forget about my problems for a moment.
"Oh wow this is really good, Mr Munson..!"
"Uhm, "Wayne" works just fine, sugar." Eddie's uncle said, punctuating the sentence with his fork. "And thank you for the compliment, much obliged."
"No problem, just stating the obvious." I took another bite. "Have your nephew inherited those cooking skills as well?" This time it was me who pointed the fork, but at Eddie.
"I'm literally right here, why don't you ask me?" Eddie asked in an offended tone. I chuckled.
"Because, Eddie, I am not sure I can trust you with telling me the truth." Wayne chuckled at this, struggling slightly with swallowing as he put his glass of water down, once again giving his nephew a slap to the shoulder.
"I like this girl, Edward, she's good for you, maybe she'll be teaching you some manners."
"Ha-ha. How many times have I told you not to call me by that name, Wayne?" Eddie sighed and covered his face, clearly embarrassed.
"Enough times for me to smile whenever I see those cheeks blush." Wayne said proudly. I hid my smile for Eddie's sake and picked up another delicious bacon piece with my fingers, gently chewing on a corner before stuffing the rest into my mouth.
"Now, I am not blushing, uncle Wayne!" Eddie protested, his dark eyes peeking out from behind both of his ring-clad hands. But the faintest red tone spreading over his cheeks deceived him.
"I think it's cute." I popped a finger into my mouth, getting rid of any evidence regarding grease. Eddie looked at me instead of Wayne, with a stern look.
"I mean the name! Although, it's pretty cute to see you all flustered up as well.." I teased. I earned a groan from him at that.
The dinner went by smoothly, aside from really taking a liking to Eddie at this point, Wayne was also really nice. Charming, calm, plus I absolutely adored his heavy american drawl. He sounded much like any cowboy in those spaghetti-westerns I'd watched.
Right now I was flipping through one of Eddie's many comic books, whilst Black Sabbath was playing in the background. One of those classic superhero stories where they're saving the world and getting the girl out of their dreams, preferably after they've discovered their abilities and become famous.
"Once again the world was free of hatred, people strolled around the streets again like if recent events had only been a nightmare they'd finally woken up from. This is so cheesy!" I put the comic book aside and turned to face Eddie, who looked up from where he was sat, preparing joints for his deals. "Didn't take you as the "romance" and "good-vs-bad" vanilla-type, Eds. Thought you preferred dragons and demons and shit. Spells. Proper fighting."
"Wich one?" He asked, I showed him the cover and he nodded in agreement.
"I uh, didn't get that one myself, Wayne bought it for me sometime when I was a kid."
"Still, it's not exactly shoved away and forgotten about." I pointed out. And that was true, it had been laid on his nightstand.
"What can I say, Mel, it still has some value, as all gifts have in the end." I snorted, and flipped over to my stomach instead. His bed creaked as my weight made it bounce slightly.
"Yeah.. right."
"I mean it doesn't really matter what it is, even if it's genuinely "bad", the thought is what counts, right? Have you never been given something in your life or what?" Eddie asked with a chuckle as he continued his work. A pause occurred, I didn't know if I wanted to respond to that. I didn't want anyone to pity me, yet at the same time I hated lying and pretending like I was someone else. Friends don't lie, went in the back of my head, cause somehow, even though I never really had friends, it felt like a bad thing to do, despite it all being for their own good. And could I go so far as to call Eddie my "friend" rather than "acquaintance" after this short time of knowing him? Still, I had the feeling he didn't just bring any person to his trailer; his room, above it all. Eddie noticed the silence, this time his eyes looked at me with a different shine, they looked soft, yet worried. He put the half-rolled joint down.
"Shit, did I say something bad? I'm sorry, sweetheart, didn't mean for it to come off like that.." He raised from the floor, approaching me slowly. My gaze had landed on my own hands, that had unconsciously started to play with the ring I wore on my right. The mattress dipped down beside me, and I felt a warm hand across my back.
"I'm really sorry, Mel, I don't know your story and I had no right to just throw something like that at you."
"It's.. fine, you couldn't know." I said, a bit weaker than I would've wanted. "I don't really want to get into it, if that's okay with you.."
"Yeah, of course.." He paused. He fully sat himself up on the bed, retrieving his feet from the floor.
"You know- it's okay to fight your own demons, Mel. We all do, at some point." Another pause. I pulled myself up and back towards the wall, staring into nothing for a moment.
"You know, the only thing I was given was my younger brother. There was a time where I really hated him, for all the attention he got, for me always being the babysitter, stuck looking after him. Still am, but time changed and when we only had each other it suddenly became more important to protect him. However, right now he is too old for being protected and I can't always be there for him anymore. And it sucks, cause I feel like there is no place for me, I'm always on the edge, awaiting a disaster. I can't keep him away from the real world, can't keep him away from our name.." I muttered out the last bit. Eddie listened, not breaking his gaze from me for even a second. I saw it from the corner of my eye. He shifted and took his place beside me. His shoulder touched mine, and it felt good in a way, secure. I looked at him from the side, his hands laid spread out across his lap.
"Like I uh- I get the feeling of being lonely and feeling out of place. My mum.. she died when I was very little and my uh- My old man wasn't really living up to the expectations of being a parent. I understood it much later because I was just a kid. I worshipped him" He let out a bittersweet laugh. "He taught me things, things I shouldn't have been taught in the first place. Once I got older, before I went to live here, he promised me he'd change. But I knew he'd never do that, not even for me. And when the cops got him I- I was free, but was left feeling lost, angry and betrayed. At that time I didn't even care about all the fuss this was going to create, or about how much of an outcast I'd be." This time I looked at him fully, I could see the pain in his eyes as he met my gaze.
"I had no idea.. My dad was.. is also a.. criminal. My mom well she's also.." I gestured with my hand, unable to finish that sentence. "I thought coming down here would be a fresh start, how stupid could I be, I was so wrong.. These nightmares are still with me, wherever I go. I can't run away." A single tear rolled down my right cheek. Great, now I was also crying on top of it all. I wiped off the tear with my thumb.
"Hey." Eddie's arm instinctively raised and wrapped around my frame. Without thinking much into it I let him, and my face automatically buried itself into the crook of his neck. At this moment I realized that I'd never really let it out. I'd kept my cool, for Jackson's sake. I didn't have any friends, I didn't have a mother to seek comfort from, she was dead.. because of my father. And I doubted that I'd ever let anyone know about it. Not even Jackson knew. It was better that way.
"You're okay, sweetheart.." Eddie mumbled into my hair, holding me tighter as he felt my body shivering against his. My throat felt weak, the air was heavy to breathe and my heart slammed furiously inside of my chest. Panic attack. It had been long since I experienced one, hence I didn't know how to control it. I felt bad for crying like this, at the same time, I couldn't do much else. Eddie smothered his hands down my back and arms, he kept mumbling that I'm okay and that I'm not alone. I had no idea how long I sat there with him, but slowly, his warmth made its way through my senses, so did the sensation of his cold rings against my skin and I could register the soft vanilla smell I'd first felt when I walked inside the trailer, but much more prominent. Now I knew the source of that scent, it came from Eddie's hair.
"I'm sorry.." I said low, embarrassed about my weakness. I was supposed to keep that side of myself bottled up and hidden away.
"Hush, I won't hear it. There's no shame in being human.. Doesn't it feel so much better now?" He asked while looking down at me. I felt his curls moving and I looked up to meet his amber eyes. My breathing finally evened out.
"Yeah, you're right." I said after a while.
"Thank you, Eddie, for you know, just being there." He squeezed my arm gently.
"Ain't going anywhere anytime soon, princess."

I Found You - Eddie Munson x Female OC
Ch.1 Ch.3 Ch.4 Ch.5
Chapter 2 - That Type
I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to that Monday when it finally came. However as it got closer and closer to lunch break I started to doubt everything. What would his crew say about a girl sitting at their table? Could I just, walk right up to them, just like that? With shaky legs I quickly picked out some food for myself, scanning the cafeteria. There he was. I swallowed the anxiety down well as I could and steered towards them. Eddie's gaze lifted as he heard boots approaching.
"Why, hello there, princess. Jeff, Gareth, this is a new addition to the club." His friends looked at me, like if I was an impostor. I was prepared to give an excuse for leaving, but Eddie would have none of that and saved the situation.
"Hey now, behave yourself, warriors. This is what we do- we help in finding the lost little sheep and offering them a home." He reached both his hands out to his friends, holding them by the back of their necks.
"Don't forget you were like her too once. Not so nice was it?" His voice suddenly sounded a bit more aggressive, but once he was sure the point was taken he let them go like if nothing happened. He gestured for me to sit down, so I did.
"So, welcome to the Hellfire Club, Melanie." He smiled. With that soft smile he gave it was such a switch from his earlier threatening tone.
"Thanks.." I said, a bit unsure.
"You know what this club is, right?" Eddie continued, popping an olive into his mouth, frowning slightly of the salty taste.
"Well.. I am not entirely sure, to be honest." That was my response to his question. And I truly had no idea, wasn't it just a group of friends?
"How much do you know about Dungeons and Dragons, sweetheart?" Eddie leaned forward, I now noticed the rings he wore on both hands when he clamped them together. They were of silver, and I could distinguish three shapes on his left hand wich was closest to me; a human skull, a pig's head and a crucifix surrounded by four smaller human skulls. No matter if there was a meaning behind them or not, they looked really fucking cool.
"Well I, I know what it is, kind of, I think." I was slightly embarrassed. Eddie raised from his chair and without a thought he bent down over my right shoulder, speaking close to my ear.
"Now that's an issue but fear not, our fair maiden! We are all going to teach you how it works. Isn't that correct, boys?" His arm protectively laid over my shoulder as he gave Jeff and Gareth a stare, they both nodded obediently.
"Sure." Jeff said, biting into his food without another word.
"See? They're not so bad." Eddie gave a sarcastic, sugar sweet smile to show his annoyance with the two other boys, and he placed his hands on both of my shoulders now when he raised up. He returned to his chair after a final, gentle squeeze.
"Anyways, we should go." Jeff said and shot Gareth a meaning look. "See you around." They both left the table, leaving me and Eddie alone.
"Jesus Christ, such sourheads.." Eddie muttered. The conversation never had a chance to continue, before I spotted the two younger boys I saw last week, again on their way towards this table. Now I could see them clearer, one of them was really tall and skinny, with slightly wavy curls of black hair, while the other one was shorter, chubby, with dark brown, really curly hair. The shorter boy had a friendly, joyful smile all over his face as he caught sight of Eddie.
"Is that my two lost little sheep I am seeing?" Eddie leaned back in his seat.
"Shut up. We're not lost sheep anymore, we're warriors and explorers!" The little guy said. He had a cute lisp, and I noticed that he wore braces. Eddie's face lit up.
"Dustin Henderson, did you just tell me to shut up?"
"Yes. I think I did." "Dustin" said, looking ever so proud of himself. Then his eyes landed on me.
"Hi." I said, smiling at him.
"Hello." He greeted me back with a smile too.
"Melanie, Dustin Henderson, Dustin, Melanie Angels, Mike, Melanie, Melanie, Mike Wheeler." Eddie quickly introduced the kids to me. I don't think he took a single breath in between.
"I'm impressed by that one, you must be used to speaking a lot, Eddie." I teased.
"See, that's what I'm saying! He needs to rest those vocal cords sometimes." Dustin said, resulting in Eddie showing him his tongue like a child. Dustin giggled happily.
"Now now, Eddie, how old did you say that you were?" I mocked. I couldn't help it, it was way too fun, with him being the mighty leader and all.
"I like her." I heard Dustin say, while I held Eddie's eye contact for a few moments.
"I didn't." He finally spoke. "And who, in this LAME, godforsaken town would even stand acting like a MONOTONOUS adult anyway?" Again he spoke out loudly to get his message acknowledged.
"Fair point." I shrugged my shoulders and bit into my french fries. Mike seemed quiet, and didn't touch the food on his plate at all.
"What's wrong with you, Wheeler?" Eddie nodded his head towards him.
"It's nothing." He said low, not sparing us a glance.
"Come on, Mike, you're acting like Steve when he's not getting to make the plans his way." Dustin pushed. Mike dropped the fork he was holding onto with a slam and exhaled.
"Fine. I'm going on a trip to Cali in two weeks to see El."
"That's why you're moping?..And what's the problem? She's your girlfriend, shouldn't you be happy?" Dustin looked puzzled.
"It's not her, it's.. it's Will, okay? He's been acting different. Or.. Not at all."
"So? Talk to him then? I'm sure they have a lot going on over there, they moved, remember? They're trying to make a new life for themselves and it's probably not very easy to just start over."
"I know but.. Why is it my job to keep in touch all the time? He have called maybe like, a couple times under this whole time." Mike muttered.
"Don't think so much into it, Mike. I'm sure you two are fine, why wouldn't you be?"
"I don't know, I guess I just don't want to lose him, Dustin. We're all growing up and changing."
"You won't. You'll see, I'm sure you'll have a great time, okay?"
"I hope so." Mike says.
"As much as I enjoy hearing you two talk out like teenage girls on a sleepover, I really have no idea who these people are and my throat is starting to get dry from not talking." Eddie hopped into the conversation.
"Oh, so just because they are boys with "feelings" to discuss, they're being girly and dramatic?" I said, turning my head towards him.
"That's not what I meant." Eddie put his hands up in surrender. "But there are funnier things to discuss that all of us can partake in."
"Like what?" Mike said, staring at Eddie, face pretty much expressionless.
"Like Mel's character." Eddie smiled at me.
"You actually play D&D?" Dustin asked me.
"No, I have never done but I am willing to learn." I answered him.
"You should tell that to Max, make her change her mindset. She never wants to play."
"And who is this "Max?" Eddie asked, interrupting with his hands landing in the middle of us all.
"Max Mayfield. Our friend. Lucas girlfriend, sort of, I don't know what they are now, they used to be together at least. Anyways, she hates anything we come up with as pastime. She calls us "stupid boys" at least once a day when we hang out." Dustin explains.
"Sinclair's girl.. Huh. Not surprising, they're a snug fit.." Eddie frowned.
"Have I missed something?" I asked.
"You could say that. Lucas, who's also an active member of this club, has gotten far too wrapped up with the basketball jocks lately, he blew us off last week when we had our game night and we brought in his sister to take his place."
"Ah.. Well that sucks." I said.
"Traitor." Eddie stuck his fork into the sausage on his plate and let it sit there. His luscious, plump lips were turned into a thin line and his teeth were tightly biting together. His big, dark eyes made him look even more pissed off.
"It's no biggie, Eddie. He'll come around to his senses. Eventually." Mike said.
"Alright boys, enough with all the complaints and sour faces. I'm curious about this character thing you talked about, Eddie."
"We'll come to that, don't worry, Angel. But right now is not the time. Meet me in the woods later today; after school, we'll discuss it then, 'kay? Sorry, I'll leave you to it for now. See you later." Eddie took his tray and left. I looked after him, a bit shocked. He seemed excited about talking about the character creation at first?
"Is he.. always like that?" I asked Dustin and Mike.
"Like what? Grumpy, on edge, easy mood swings? Yep, sounds just like Eddie Munson to me." Dustin said. So they didn't even react to what just happened like it was normal. Interesting.
"He seem really nice though, he took me under his wing at once." I said.
"Well, he is a bit of an outsider himself and don't like seeing others suffering like he used to do. He can lash out, out of nowhere, sometimes, and yell at people like they're stepping on his nerves." Mike explains. "But most of the time he is really fun to be around. Especially when we play D&D, he's a fantastic storyteller with a lot of imagination."
"This D&D thing is really huge, huh?" I say, after taking a sip of water. Dustin's eyes shines.
"It is! It's not just like any game, Mel, it's a secondary reality, where there are no limits in terms of what you can create and be and explore." Dustin chirps happily.
"So it's like, a made up story each time you play? Or the same one, continuing?"
"Depends on what kind of story it is. It varies. But Eddie usually has new ideas ready each week."
"That sounds amazing." I agree. "But isn't it so tiring, though? At least for him, having to prepare for each week."
"Nah I don't think so. He loves it, especially if he is high, wich he is, most of the time." Dustin laughs.
"Hmm. I see." I pause. "Was he bullied a lot?"
"I believe so, yes. He became Eddie "the freak" Munson, and people either avoided him or made fun of him. Now he doesn't care, I don't think he does, anyway. Why?"
"Drugs are usually taken to relieve stress, anxiety and pain. They can also affect the mood easily and make you more sensitive." I explain to him.
"And how do you know all that?" Mike asked. "Have you done drugs?" I shaked my head. I took a few moments before replying.
"I never did but, my dad was a drug addict. I know all the effects from the things he took. Sounds much like Eddie's temper, and you confirmed he is using drugs pretty much every day so.."
"I'm sorry, that must've not been very easy.." Dustin said.
"Yeah well, it's over now isn't it?" I brushed him off, not wanting to go further into it.
"Yes.. ..But you know you can talk to us about it if you have to, if you feel like it, we're not kids anymore."
"Thanks, Dustin." I said, giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze. Out of consciousness my gaze drifted over Mike's head and landed on the wall, the clock, more exactly.
"Well shit! I've gotta run, guys.. But we'll speak another time, yeah? Like, probably tomorrow?" I quickly gathered my stuff.
"It was nice meeting you, Melanie!" Dustin said as I began to make my way out.
"Likewise, Henderson!" I called out back at him.
~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know what was making me so nervous about all this. He wasn't a complete stranger at this point after all. But my palms felt sweaty as I slowly steered my steps towards the trees. No reason to chicken out, Melanie. It's just a guy. That you'll spend some time with. Alone. And you've never been with a guy alone, like, ever.. Stop! I told my head to shut up with its unreasonable nonsense. You'll probably look like an idiot and most likely a creep if you keep looking at him when you think he is not noticing. Only a question of when he is going to catch you eyeing him up. Enough!
"Woah there, Angel, now what could've gotten you so riled up?"  I turned around on the spot and Eddie stood there, just like clockwork. The blood rushed up to my face, fuck, did I say that shit out loud? I stared at him, still a little shocked.
"Hmm?" He waited for my response. He shifted his weight onto his right foot. "You"  hastily ran through my head, but I softened my expression out and erased any sign of what I was thinking about.
"Ah, nothing important, Mr Dungeon Master, now, what is it you wanted to discuss? Out here, in the woods.." I emphasized the last word, a small smirk, barely visible making its way onto my face.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to kidnap you out here, princess. I just like to be out here, breathe, you know. Speaking of.." He fumbled with his jacket's pockets. He fished up a pack of cigarettes, taking one out for himself, immediately placing it in between his lips, before holding the pack in front of himself. "You want one?"
"I'm good.. I don't smoke." He snorted audibly and put it back into his pocket again.
"Okay." He shot me a quick glance "We'll have to work on that too, I guess.." He mumbled as he worked with his lighter.
"What?" I asked him, even though I clearly heard what he said.
"Huh? Nothing." He finally succeeded with lighting up the poisoned stick. I had to admit that I couldn't not stare when the flame illuminated his face in that soft warm glow. He looked pretty, kind of. Oh shut it! I looked around us, a little nervous. And feeling slightly awkward.
"So eh.. Do you have papers or something to scribble down the ideas for the character?" I asked him. He laughed, a genuine, honey sweet rumble coming from within his chest, as he couldn't fully laugh with the cigarette blocking his mouth from opening completely.
"Oh no sweetheart, we're not doing that here; I asked you to meet me here as this is where you'll find my sorry ass most afternoons."
"O-okay.. so where are we going then?"
"I was thinking my place, but.. ..only if you feel comfortable with that, sweetheart." I contemplated his offer for a moment, until I finally made up my mind. "Yeah I'm okay with that."
"You sure? Okay.. let's get going." He continued smoking the whole cigarette until we reached the parking lot, where he took out his keys and unlocked a white van. He took one final drag of his cigarette and dropped it to the ground, stomping on it with one of his white shoes. Reebok, nice.
Eddie opened up the passenger door, gesturing for me to get in like a gentleman. I accepted the gesture and climbed inside, closing the door after me as Eddie jumped in on the other side. He quickly looked around, with his teeth biting into his bottom lip. He quickly started to gather the visible junk laying around, throwing it to the back of his vehicle.
"Sorry for the mess, I'm not uh.. really used to escorting fine women." He snickered.
"Don't worry about it, I'm not that "fine". I repeated his words, earning a snort from him as he started the engine. I settled back against the seat, taking in the soft vanilla scent that was spread in the air, seemingly coming from the two yellow wunderbaum trees hanging by the rearview mirror. As we hit the road his sound system came to life, Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" filled up the silence, starting right in the middle of the main guitar solo, drums working like crazy among the rhythm guitars. Eddie shot me a look and went to turn the volume down, but I stopped him with my hand on top of his ring-clad one.
"No I like it, you can keep the track on." I reassured him, and I could see the actual confusion spreading across his face. I slowly removed my hand and so did he.
I rested my head against the passenger window, the song still playing loudly, both of us quiet, taking in the rhythm and feel of the music.
Hell is worth all that, natural habitat
Just a rhyme without a reason
Never-ending maze, drift on numbered days
Now your life is out of season
I will occupy
I will help you die
I will run through you
Now I rule you too
"Who would've thought.." Eddie chuckled as the track faded, seemingly laughing to himself. I lifted my head up and looked at him from the side, meeting his gaze that studied me curiously.
"What, you're that surprised that a chick is actually enjoying this type of music?" His right hand let go of the steering wheel and flew out in a shrug.
"I mean.. Yeah, I am, actually. I didn't really take you as.. that type." He said.
"Well, Eds, just cause I'm not dressed like a metalhead like you doesn't mean I can't appreciate good music."
"I'm not complaining, sweetheart." He looked me over again for a bit. "But.. please let me borrow you one of my t-shirts so you look the part, so people won't assume you're one of the usual ones.. As you're clearly not.. That'd be such a shame, such a tragic waste." I laughed.
"Eddie!" He chuckled as well.
"Only speaking the facts, angel."
I Found You - Eddie Munson x Female OC
Ch.2 Ch.3 Ch.4 Ch.5
Melanie "Mel" Angels had just moved down to Hawkins to live with her aunt. It seemed like the regular, boring, slightly forgotten town, where nothing interesting really seemed to happen. She couldn't have been more wrong.
She also had a brother, Jackson. They both came with a rough past that always seemed to catch up with them. Back where she came from, she was always lonely and forever followed by the rumors that was spread about her and her family. Was this her chance of getting a fresh start? Where nobody knew her, where her corrupted family couldn't reach out to her or her younger brother.
Nobody truly had an idea of why she decided to move to this godforsaken place, not even her own aunt, and she was sure she'd keep the real reason within herself forever.
Then, an unexpected person shows up into her life, and a bond is forming between them. Was it just a distraction from their own demons, or could there be something more?
Chapter 1 - Doe Eyes
His whole personality seemed to stand out, he was careless with how loud he spoke, completely immune against the weird glances he received. His head was bowed down behind a magazine at the moment. I studied him curiously, or well, the mop of hair I could see. His mullet was rather long and dark. It was curly and thick, in a rockstar type of way. He wore a denim vest, with a leather jacket underneath. From where I stood leaned against the wall behind him, I had a perfect view over his backside, a cutout from a Dio shirt had been printed on the back of his vest. So, he was a metalhead.. of course.
"The Devil has come to America. Dungeons and Dragons. At first regarded as a harmless game of make-believe, now has both parents and psychologists concerned. Studies have linked violent behaviour to the game, saying it promotes satanic worship, ritual sacrifice, sodomy, suicide, and even... murder! The dark haired guy dramatically put his head out of the magazine, erupting a wave of laughter among all his buddies at the table. I noticed two younger boys approaching his table, they looked slightly nervous as they sat down.
"We're the freaks cause we like to play a fantasy game. But.." The metalhead hopped up on the table, graciously stepping all over the place as he continued to speak. Loudly. "..As long as you're into band or.. science or.. parties.." I could hear the dislike in his voice at the last word. Not much of a party guy then, I took it.
"Or a game, where you toss BALLS into laundry baskets.." He spoke unbelievably louder this time, making sure to deliver his point to everyone nearby as he stood there in the middle of the cafeteria.
"You want something, freak?" Jason Carver (who I'd learnt the name of pretty much instantly in gymnastics class) asked, staring the guy down with a death-glare. He wasn't intimidated at all by it and made devil horns at Jason, who turned back to his team quickly. I thought the commotion was over with, but nope, he continued talking as he stepped his way back.
"It's forced conformity, that's what's.. killing the kids!" He hopped off the table in a rushed motion, landing just a few inches away from where I stood. He bowed for some girls while they passed him, with questionable looks on their faces. It gave me the time to appreciate his lean frame, he was pretty tall, too. In the rush of his adrenaline kick, a wide closed smile was spread across his face, he glanced at me for a few seconds before he turned around again and went back to his seat. My heart stopped for a second and I swear I forgot to breathe. His eyes looked completely black.. I could feel them staring through my soul. They reminded me of those of a doe, big and expressive. I'd never seen eyes like that before. I detached myself from the wall and made my way out of the cafeteria, shaking my head at myself in disbelief. That guy, whoever he was, was nothing but trouble.
The day passed by, and eventually it was over and done with. This was my one week mark of being a senior here, still, not a single person had been speaking to me. Not that I expected anybody to do so, I knew no one and hey, I could be a serial killer for all they know. I laughed at myself on that thought, I wasn't intimidating enough to have such rumors being spread about me. Hell, I could barely walk alone in darkness without going flying at every little sound. I sighed deeply as I closed my locker and grabbed the keys. I walked through packed corridors, my low heeled boots definitely drawing attention with the aggressive steps I took. This was such a stupid fucking time to switch schools. March. What the hell was the point, it's summer break in barely three months..! In that time I'll learn nothing, and I won't get any grades worth speaking of. The hell was I supposed to do all summer? Study? Look for work so I could pay for a ticket away from here soon as possible? I was so caught up in my head arguing that I didn't pay attention to my surroundings, resulting in a solid form bumping into me as I turned around a corner. I stumbled at the unprepared situation, I would definitely have tipped over if the stranger hadn't caught me. My clumsy ass..! "Sorry, I should've looked where I was going.." A pair of strong arms steadied me up, like if to check if I was alright. "It's quite alright sweetheart, no harm done, no bones broken either." I recognised that voice and looked up from the floor, having been too embarrassed to look at the one I smashed into. I was met by a pair of dark eyes looking at me. The metalhead. Again. "Oh hi.." "You ok?" His face looked at me with slight concern as he loosened his grip on me. I felt if anything was off or hurting but no, everything seemed to be good. "Yeah I'm fine, thankfully I didn't fall on my backside. Thanks for preventing that to happen by the way." I said, cheeks burning a little of the embarrassment still. The guy chuckled slightly but still looked worried. "No I mean, with that force you slammed into me at, you definitely had your head somewhere far away from here." He gestured dramatically with one hand at the end of his sentence. "I'm alright, don't worry." I said, not really sure why this guy asked about my well-being, therefore I had no idea what or if to respond, even. "Oh no, you should be worried, new girl, walking around like that, next time you might not be so lucky." There was something about the way he spoke that drove me in. I exhaled. "Yeah well, I'm a dreamer by default so I think I'm bound to be elsewhere most of the time." I said, backing off slightly so I could look at him properly. He snickered openly. "Well I, couldn't say I don't know what it's like to be one, but, be careful is all I'm saying." "Alright, I will, ...?" I trailed off, as I didn't know what to call him by. His arm flew out and he bowed theatrically. His dark hair flew all around his face as he did that. "Edward Munson to your acquaintance. Eddie. Also known as "The Freak" in this here helltown." His eyes looked sad for a moment, but it quickly faded. "Alright, I think "Eddie" cuts it the best." I said, now smiling fully. He responded with a smile back. "So who is this fair lady then?" He asked with a made up gentleman voice. "Melanie Angels is my name, good sir. Mainly just called "Mel". "Pleasure to meet you, Mel. Um, I saw you were looking kinda lost during lunch, if you want, you can join my crew next time. But, beware.." He leaned forward. "..They're very.. ..particular." He stared at me intensely. Most people would've found that scary, but for some reason, I didn't. He seemed really cool, from what I could tell. "Looking forward to it, Eddie. So, see you Monday?" He smiled softly. "See you Monday, Angel." We waved to each other as we went our separate ways. Maybe this town wasn't so bad, after all.
