These are pictures from a lovely old haunted cemetery we visited recently in western Kentucky.  It’s a fairly old cemetery, probably from around the turn of the century. The main tale associated with the cemetery is of that the angel; apparently she will move, cry, or try to attack people when they enter the cemetery at night.  There are also stories of an apparition of a women wearing a blue or a white dress that is seen pacing in front of the angel, though no one knows who she is or how she is connected.  Whether you are able to see the apparition or not, the cemetery itself is pretty unsettling; the energy of place is noticeably off, which we feel has influenced the look of the local flora, as noted by the tree of many eyes (feel free to let us know how those actually got there). While it should be noted that this cemetery in particular is quite lovely, we will refrain from giving its exact name and location to avoid giving it too much publicity; it has been a victim of vandalism in the past.  Pro tip: When leaving a cemetery, walk out backwards so the ghosties don’t leave with you.

So, in the late 1800′s, a woman visiting the Harrodburg Springs Hotel died tragically during a dance due to unknown reasons.  While dancing, her unlucky partner noticed that she had passed away in his arms.  Her traveling companion disappeared in the ensuing chaos, never to be heard from again. Knowing nothing of where the woman came from or what her true identity was, the town banned together and buried her on the hotel grounds; the gentlemen who danced with her that fateful evening served as her pallbearers. From that day forth, there have been reports of that pour soul dancing the night away near her lonely grave. This is that grave. If you look closely, you can see that there is no longer a hotel on the premises (it burned down) and a playground is now in it’s place. Not gonna lie, it’s a pretty good playground, the kind I imagine teenagers hanging out at late at night - wonder how many of them she’s scared the hell out of?

A Brief Introduction

Hello tumblrs! My name is Laura (I’m on the right in the picture on our avatar) and that lovely lady next to me is my bestie, Stephanie, and we have decided to start a blog about the trips we take to odd places in Kentucky (mostly) in search of ghosties, monsters, and fun!  With each trip we take, and each post we make, we will try to include pictures and information on the haunted places we go to, including how easy it was (or wasn’t) to travel to our destination, what we found once we arrived, and whether or not it was actually worth the trip.  If anyone ever has any questions about the trips we take, please feel free to ask!  We hope to have new posts up every couple of weeks or so, so keep an eye out for new adventures!
