Theraprism comic series part, idk!! Fear of Venetian Blinds

My longest one so far!! The support I have gotten over these has been AMAZING and I'm so thankful for it!! any suggestions for Bill theraprism comic ideas PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! Shoot me an ask! I would love to make this a continuing series if I get enough ideas for concepts for it!

I haven’t seen anyone explaining why bill would have a fear of Venetian blinds, it kinda seems to be an odd thing for him to be afraid of. Perhaps you could have a theory as to why that is?

I have my theories!

The main thing I think could be it is that the blinds remind Bill of Euclydia since they are flat- since they are slightly raised I also think it reminds Bill of how he saw the stars in his dimension maybe? Since he would be living on a flat world, the sky could be tilted up??

This is also why I'm so interested in this fear, too! It's such a strange one, but it definitely means something. It can also hint at how Euclydia looked, since it's mashed together with other things relating to Bill's home dimension/trauma from destroying it.

My main theory for now is that it's a hint to Euclydia (obv), but specifically, the perspective of how it looked to Bill. It's flat, while also slightly raised because of his ability to see the third dimension.

What I do know for sure without theory is that it reminds him of home <3

I think the idea of Bill Cipher fankids are especially very interesting considering everything we know about him now and his parallels to Stan AUGHHHH… Bill’s sense of what a family is and should be must be so messed up and seeing Stan from his perspective as a guy who messed up countless times and still got forgiven… how would Bill even treat a kid. I REALLY WANNA KNOW,,,

THE ANSWER TO THIS IS NOT WELL!!

Bill as a dad is such an exciting concept because I KNOW he would have the most MESSED UP PERSPECTIVE OF A FAMILY. Bill has absolutely no patience with ANYTHING and easily gets distracted (ADHD king) and most importantly, gets angry FAST. I can only think the Bill fan kids grow up with the most insane projections of themselves because of how uncaring Bill can be most of the time. I think Bill dad could go so many ways. I would love to hear everyone's different thoughts on this one because like- Bill as a dad has so many paths to me. There's the option of him actually trying, which would be the good dad path, but I think even if he really wanted to have a family, it would be messy either way. He talks about how much he hates kids so much in the book that I can't even imagine how he would treat his own if he HAD to take care of one or multiple.

The only way I could see a kid even getting out semi-normal from Bill is if Bill started facing himself and the past. A partially redeemed Bill could be the only way he could actually ATTEMPT at being an okay parent. Even then, it still would be SO DRAMA.

My Bill kids are pretty messed up because of their dad. Bill tries, but he's also a liar. Hes overprotective to an extreme amount and lashes out when they rebel. Hes angry and easily gets overwhelmed. He locks himself away when he gets reminded of his past too much. There are those good moments when he teaches them powers/about the world, tucks them into bed, and plays/teaches them piano. He can be a fun dad, letting them set things on fire and taking them on small field trips. On the occasions when Bill lashes out too much, he comforts them. He tries. It's not the best attempt. And he will even apologize and open up on the most rare of occasions. There are so many bad moments, though. Bill hides his past ENTIRELY from them and lies when they see something. He excuses why he pushes them so hard to learn to protect themselves. Bill is also VERY passionate about his opinions. Anyone going against his own will get Bill annoyed and upset. Because of the Bill kids' image of their dad, they try to hide away their Euclidean forms. AND THEY HAVE SO MANY COMPLICATED FEELINGS!! The main reason Bill is such a childish parental figure is because HE NEVER LEARNED HOW TO GROW UP. Hes immature, so he could never correctly parent a kid. (BUT ITS STILL FUN TO SEE HIM TRY!!!)

OMG YOU HAVE BILL KID OCS??? 👀 PLZ CAN I KNOW ABOUT THEM?

I DO- The gist of it was its an au of beyond the falls (has no name) but in this case Loretta and Bill accidentally ends up with quadruplets (I haven't fleshed out HOW accidentally happened it just did LMAO) and they decide to co-parent to try to be better than their own parents- They reside somewhere in a stable part of the nightmare realm/outside of gravity falls and its kinda like a tangled situation where the kids don't go out much BECAUSE of the reputation of their father (and you know being a wanted criminal).

I mainly focus on the dynamics of the siblings because I think it's silly. Bell (the pink one) is the most fleshed out of all the siblings because I had a storyline back in the day when she ran away to try to figure out her father's past because of how mysterious it is. She wants to get in touch with her own roots as half/Euclidean/Flatlander and half human.

All the siblings bear a different piece of their father's abilities. They all have the pyrokenesis but they all are strong in their own abilities. Bell is the dream entering/mind stuff, Ace is strength and form changing (the violent stuff), Wyatt sees the future, different timelines, and has the sight stuff, and Cytherus (or Cee for short) has the intelligence and duplication ability!

PS: THIS IS NOT CANON TO BEYOND THE FALLS LOL. I highly doubt if Loretta and Bill could they would have kids. Both have their own issues revolving around parents, and both are WAY too afraid to face that. Also in the BOF timeline they have SO MUCH GOING ON. No kids for them. Although the concept of Bill being not the best dad is something I enjoy from time to time :))

I do need to redesign them though- I originally thought Bills top hat was apart of his body so I made it his genetics FOR the kids. I don't think that would be the case anymore. Wyatt and Ace can keep their top hats though (because Ace likes to copy his dad anyway and would) and Wyatt copies his brother Ace-

I dont think Bill would feel guilty about killing his parents, which might be the only thing hes ever actually felt guilty about, if they had been shitty.

I absolutely don't think Bill's parents were entirely shitty, or Bill ACTUALLY resenting his dad. It's super complicated. Because relationships with parents are complex in real life. They could have had evil ways of reacting to Bill's visions (which is canon), and they probably lashed out, neglected, or said the wrong things. In the end, Bill LOVED his parents, like many of us do despite parent issues. And Bills parents loved him (which is canon that Bills parents loved him despite him having his weird habits and strange eye).

Euclid, in my headcanons, is a shitty dad, but Bill still wanted to make him proud and love him. I'm sure Bill had his complicated feelings about his dad (theory AND headcanon-wise), but he loved him :( And Bill's dad could have been cruel, but I like to think parallel-wise with Stans dad, Filbrick only wanted the best for Stanley. He was SO cruel and so harsh and a bad dad, but he tried to do things because he thought it would toughen Stan up. I think it was the same with Bills dad, even if it doesn't make it right. Plus I think Bill doesn't JUST feel guilty about his parents- I mean, an entire dimension. THE GUILT GOES SOO DEEP ITS WILD. I LOVE THINKING ABOUT HOW COMPLICATED BILL IS!!!! WOO!! I actually do it makes me so happy.

All of this is not canon info btw!! Just thoughts I have about the possible dynamic of Bills family. Alot of it is speculation/headcanon stuff.

THANK YOU !!! This is EXACTLY what I want to do when it comes to my Gravity falls ocs/sonas. I was always so embarrassed by it growing up, but over time, I learned it was so much more fun to find others who ALSO enjoyed doing the same thing. fan ocs/self inserts SHOULD NEVER BE BASHED ON. I genuinely think it's one of the coolest things ever, and I enjoy SO much talking about others' fan ocs/my own. It is one of my biggest passions, and expanding on an already existing story is done all the time in reader/canon fanfics, so why not ocs/aus revolving AROUND OCS!! This is a topic I'm SO passionate about.

FACTS

Bill kid OCs are a guilty pleasure of mine (and that's why I have four of them), but they aren't canon to my au at all and are more like nostalgic things I draw occasionally. If anything, they are an au WITHIN another au. I don't have a lot of info on them because I don't think about them much,,,but be cringe be free !!!

Is the Bill having a shitty dad thing based only on your headcanons? because isnt it implied that both of Bills parents were pretty good to him?

Its mainly a headcanon of mine :). Although I do think it could be canon Bills dad was an absent one. I also think there was definitely some bad parenting from both of them, though canonically, with the whole medicine situation and doctors trying to blind Bill. Especially because its implied it happen to Bill as a baby. His parents had to be compliant with that.

Alot of my thoughts are theories or headcanons though :))

So what does Loretta mean when she says she's "releasing the weirdness?"

Just like rehabilitators do with animals in real life! Loretta captures them, does some tests (and documents their behavior) and finds a safer and more secluded area in gravity falls to release them in. Loretta knows weirdness has more to it than just being weird. Many creatures have thoughts and feelings and are usually lost when they get too close to the town. Sometimes she has to detain them with combat if they are too feisty. She TRIES her best to communicate, though. A cool fact about Loretta is that intelligence-wise, she is pretty smart (not as smart as Stanford) but smart enough to learn multiple languages! It's a skill of hers. Especially the language of different creatures in Gravity Falls. She finds out where they best would thrive in and puts them back into the wild.

I love her job because it leads her to many wacky situations in Gravity Falls. And this is where bill comes into play. With the most dangerous creatures, Loretta needs to be stronger to deal with them. Shes only mortal and human. Theres only so much a bat and unicorn hair can do.

BUT, Bill is! Which is how he helps out with her work.
