HHHHHHHHHHHNGHHHHHHHHHHh YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Tokyo Ghoul x JJK best combo 🥹🥹🥹🥹
imagine! ghoul sukuna catching a whiff of you while he's knee deep ravaging in some deserving creep's guts. you've just been dropped off home by a cab directly in front of your apartment, and he's right around the corner, hidden in an alleyway, perfect for perching up and getting a view of you.
what kind of human are you?
sukuna has never wanted to fuck a human. they're weak and incapable of pleasure the way ghouls are, boring.
but the sight of you...
his bloodshot eyes hone in on the sound of your heartbeat from so far, fuck even the way it beats is turning him on.
and, is that, fear? he smells?
you seem to be taking a bit long in tapping in the code to your apartment building.
"you wanna give me a taste cheeky!" a slurred and cackling voice jeers and suddenly sukuna's head reels to the forty some year old cat-calling you from the end of the street. before he can even process the thought, he feels his body tense and get ready to defend you, watching critically as your eyes widen and you fumble with the door again.
and right just when the creep crosses a distance that might get close to you, you quickly zoom inside after a low buzz of your door.
and it's then that the creep is at your door, starting to yell at the building for you to come out. you don't hear it considering your apartment was rather far from where his yells could reach. and you don't hear him stop abruptly either.
the next morning, on your way to work, you don't even pay much attention to the small splatter of blood stains near the entrance of your building.
but what does catch your attention is the large and tall meat stack of a man that walks by you while you're on the way back home that afternoon. he's immensely handsome, scarily so. but he looks so serious and as if he couldn't notice the blatant stare you gave him in awe.
and everyday, you see him again at the same point in time. as if his schedule perfectly lined up with yours. except he never looks at you and you feel as if he's destined to never do so.
maybe its your own small obsession over him, but you start seeing him in your part of town more often. at the grocery store he's always buying packs of instant coffee and and what looks like regular groceries for his pantry. whenever you're on the metro, he's barely just escaping to another destination and off to the stairs. if he's at a cafe, theres a cup of coffee in his hands, black, from the one time you got an intense whiff of it in passerby.
but his obsession with you is anything but small. sukuna prides himself in eating every single piece of scum that has made you uncomfortable. it's worked out, considering his hunger's grown a thousand times more ever since he laid eyes on you and you're such a beauty that a number of men flock to you.
a month of this behavior passes, and sukuna had thought he'd already reached rock bottom until he catches a whiff of you, on your period.
his right eye almost twitches when he passes by you.
and it gets his blood boiling when the precinct's famous sleazy ghoul also passes by you, pheromones screaming that he wants to devour you.
sukuna devours him later that night after he spied on him spying on you the entire day. if anybody was going to devour you, it'd be him. and you were going to scream for only him, pleasure or not.
you belong to him.
this fan art of him on the left corner with blood on his mouth got me bad :(

You were a NewTuber who gained a large following by teaching martial arts with clear instructions, impressive techniques, and a charismatic personality. Your channel has turned into a popular destination for fans of martial arts, attracting viewers globally, including the famous Hobin Yoo.
One day, Hobin himself reached out to you, intrigued by your skills and eager to collaborate. He saw the potential for a dynamic and inspiring partnership that could benefit both of your audiences. While you were excited by the opportunity, not everyone shared the same enthusiasm. Taehoon, upon hearing about the collaboration, remained indifferent. He had his own standards and wasn’t easily impressed.
However, the rest of the HYC held immense respect for your moves and teaching methods. They had seen your videos and were keen to create content with you. Hobin, recognizing the value you could bring, arranged for a one-on-one session to showcase your talents. Gyeoul attended the session and was thoroughly impressed by your techniques and teaching style.
Despite the respect from the crew, you were aware of Taehoon's dismissive attitude and decided to challenge him to a sparring match. Confident in his own abilities, Taehoon accepted, exuding his usual cocky demeanor. However, as the match progressed, it became clear that he had underestimated you. Your skill, strategy, and precision in the fight ultimately led to his defeat.
Taehoon’s loss was a humbling experience for him, and he couldn’t get you out of his mind after that.
-
It was a regular afternoon, and you had just finished recording a video on how to improve your kicks. Feeling satisfied with the session, you took a shower to freshen up, then retreated to your room for some much-needed rest. As you lay back on your bed, you decided to grab your phone and check your notifications.
To your surprise, you saw a message from someone you didn't expect: Taehoon. His message was brief and to the point:
Taehoon: wyd
You quickly responded, curious about the unexpected communication.
You: Nothing much, I just finished a vid :D
You sent the message and noticed that he had read it almost immediately. But then, there was no reply. Minutes turned into a considerable amount of time, and you found yourself left on read. It was a strange occurrence, but you shrugged it off, figuring that Taehoon might have had other things to attend to.
Just as you were about to put your phone down, it buzzed again with another message from Taehoon.
Taehoon: fight me.
I want a rematch.
-
It turned into an almost regular thing; every now and then, you'd have a sparring session in the dojang with Taehoon. These matches gradually evolved into regular hangouts, where the two of you would spend time together outside of training. One day, you both decided to grab ice cream after a particularly intense session.
"As I was saying, those cramps worsened over time since I forgot to stretch." you said, licking your ice cream as you recounted your story.
"Huh, never had to deal with that even as a beginner." Taehoon remarked with his annoying smug expression. Suddenly, his eyes darted to something behind you. "What's that?" he pointed somewhere behind you.
Instinctively, you turned to look, and in that brief moment of distraction, Taehoon leaned over and took a lick of your ice cream.
"Why you-!" you exclaimed, smacking his arm playfully.
"That's what you get for being an idiot." he retorted with a smirk.
"I'm not an idiot!" you shot back.
"Oh yeah?" Taehoon raised an eyebrow. "Your ice cream's melting and dripping down your hand right now, and you don't even notice."
You glanced down and saw that he was right—your ice cream was indeed melting and making a mess. With a frustrated sigh, you tried to salvage what you could.
"Tsk, I can't with you." you muttered, shaking your head as Taehoon chuckled, clearly enjoying the moment.
You checked your phone and saw it was getting late. "Hey, I had a lot of fun today, but I need to go and study." you said, getting ready to leave.
"I'll take you home." Taehoon offered without hesitation.
"That's sweet of you, but I can do just fine."
"I'm not asking for permission. I'm taking you home. It's dangerous at night." Taehoon insisted, his tone firm.
"I can easily beat you in a fight. What makes you think I can't go home by myself?" you challenged him. Grrr, take the hint.
"I go easy on you sometimes, y'know?" he scoffed, not willing to back down.
You groaned and turned to leave, but he followed right behind you. "You should train in our dojang sometime." he suggested as you walked.
"Well, that's not really necessary. You already know I have somewhere else to train."
There was a brief silence between you, the sound of your footsteps filling the night air, until Taehoon broke it again.
"When can we fight again?"
"Not sure," you admitted. "I'll be putting off my vids for a bit since I have exams."
"I'll help you study." he offered, surprising you with his sincerity.
"That's nice of you, but we both know you're just gonna end up distracting me." you said, shaking your head with a smile.
"Yeah, that's right." he admitted, laughing lightly.
"Yeonwoo can probably be more helpful than you," you added, trying to gently let Taehoon down while keeping the conversation light.
"You're comparing me to a nerd? Tch, seriously?" Taehoon retorted, clearly annoyed by the comparison.
"A really kind, good-looking, strong nerd," you added with a smirk, knowing this would get under his skin.
"Tsk. Whatever." he muttered, but you could tell he was slightly flustered.
You seized the opportunity to tease him further. "Aww, are you jealous?"
"You're getting way ahead of yourself, idiot."
"I'm not an idiot!"
The two of you continued to bicker playfully, your voices filling the quiet night as you walked. The retorts and comebacks only fueled the banter.
As you finally reached your doorstep, you turned to face Taehoon. "Well, this is me."
"Yeah, yeah." he replied, his tough exterior cracking just enough to show a hint of a smile. "Don't stay up too late studying."
"I won't," you assured him. "Thanks for walking me home."
"Whatever."
"Good night~"
"Good night."
-
Exams were nearing, and you were studying your ass off, as promised, taking some time off from your NewTube channel to focus on your exams. The pressure was intense, and you spent countless hours buried in textbooks and notes. Despite your dedication to studying, Taehoon wouldn’t leave you alone. He seemed determined to keep you company, whether you liked it or not.
You found yourself sitting on the floor, textbooks spread out around you as you racked your brain over a particularly challenging problem. You sighed in frustration, feeling the weight of the upcoming exams bearing down on you.
Just then, Taehoon leaned in, his face inches away from yours. "This has the same solution as problem 6."
"A-ah, yeah. Thanks." you stammered, trying to focus on the problem at hand while your heart raced.
The day after your exams, you received your results and were thrilled to see that you had passed with a good grade. Eager to share the news, you sought out Taehoon and showed him your grades.
"Turns out the idiot isn't an idiot at all," Taehoon commented with a smirk, clearly impressed but maintaining his usual teasing demeanor.
"Huhuhu~" you laughed triumphantly, feeling a rush of pride and relief.
"So, are you free to—" Taehoon began, but you cut him off with a grin.
"Let's train together. You, me, at the dojang."
"Alright, let's see if that brain of yours can keep up with your fists."
"You'll be eating those words soon enough."
-
As you entered the mat, you could sense the well-known surge of adrenaline. Taehoon was positioned in front of you, staring intensely into your eyes with a competitive spark.
"Ready to get your ass kicked?" he teased, his usual smirk in place.
"Hah. You wish." you shot back, a confident smile tugging at your lips.
As the minutes passed, the fight grew fiercer. You managed to land a solid kick, but Taehoon quickly recovered, countering with a series of rapid attacks.
In a swift, unexpected move, you managed to sweep Taehoon's legs out from under him. He fell to the mat, and you followed through, pinning him down. Breathing heavily, you looked down at him, a triumphant grin on your face.
"Got you." you said, breath hitching.
Taehoon, still catching his breath, looked up at you with an expression of surprise and admiration. As the adrenaline began to subside, the intensity of the moment shifted. His hand reached up, and with a gentle touch, he brushed a stray lock of hair from your eyes.
-
Look, whatever happened after that fight might have slipped your mind, but for Taehoon, it was etched in his mind 24/7. It haunted him for weeks—maybe even months, who knows? The intensity of that moment had a profound impact on him, and despite his usual demeanor, he couldn't shake the feeling of wanting more.
He respected you as a fighter, admired you as a friend, but he was greedy. No matter how difficult or complicated it might seem, he wasn’t ready to let you go.
One day, as you were discussing various things, Taehoon suddenly interrupted. His tone was serious, and there was an intensity in his eyes that caught you off guard.
"Date me." he said, his words coming out with surprising bluntness.
You blinked in confusion. "Ah—Huh."
Then, it hit you, and your eyes widened in disbelief. "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHH?!?"
"You heard me."
"But—" you began, trying to process his unexpected confession.
"I'm not asking for your permission, I'm—" he started, but you cut him off.
"You already know my answer. You always call me an idiot. Hmph." you retorted, trying to play it cool despite the rapid fluttering of your heart.
"So it's a..." Taehoon trailed off, waiting for your response.
"A 'yes', you nutjob."
-
Being in a relationship with Taehoon didn't bring about significant changes; the main difference was the increase in intimacy.
While practicing alone, Taehoon occasionally observed you from afar, showing his admiration through his eyes. It was a fresh, more subdued method for him to display his backing and love–or like, whatever.
Still, his friends couldn't help but observe the change in Taehoon's behavior.
“Taehoon is a simp, haha.” Snapper said with a grin.
“Shut the fuck up, you're just sad you don’t have a girlfriend.” Taehoon shot back.
“Hey! That’s a little uncalled for!”
“Haha, you deserved that.” Hobin added with a chuckle.
“Seriously though, how did you pull a complete 10?” Snapper asked, genuinely curious.
“Simple, I’m not you." Taehoon replied with a smirk.
Hobin burst into laughter at the retort. Despite the teasing, there was a genuine sense of pride and happiness in Taehoon’s voice. His expression softened as he looked at you. Seriously though, he felt so lucky to have you. The light-hearted banter among his friends only underscored how much Taehoon valued you. It was clear that, despite his tough exterior, he was deeply appreciative of the connection you shared.
Taehoon felt incredibly fortunate to have you in his life. It wasn’t just about having a sparring partner, though that alone was something he deeply appreciated. Training with you was a thrill; the intensity and skill you brought to the mat pushed him to be better, and he enjoyed the challenges you presented.
But you were so much more than that. You were his cuddling machine. Whether it was after a grueling workout or during a quiet evening, the way you nestled against him provided a sense of peace and closeness that he cherished deeply.
You were a thoughtful listener to him as well, truly hearing him out when he talked about the latest fight tactics or shared thoughts about his day. Your capability to listen without criticism and provide considerate replies established you as a reliable confidant in every way.
On top of that, you were his favorite yapper. Your lively, animated nature kept things interesting and full of life, adding an element of fun and spontaneity to your time together.
Taehoon felt immensely lucky to see your face every day. Simply seeing your smile or witnessing the sparkle in your eyes when you were happy brought a sense of joy. All these moments, whether significant or minor, accumulated into a profound gratitude for the special and irreplaceable impact you had in his life.
He took immense pleasure in admiring your moves, both in and out of the dojang. Whether it was the precision of your kicks or the graceful way you moved, he found inspiration in every aspect of your skill. Watching you train, grow, and excel was a sign of how lucky he was to share his life with someone as talented and remarkable as you.
Taehoon felt extremely fortunate to have you as his. Every day he spent with you only reminded him of how unique and invaluable you were to him.
When you and Taehoon faced off, you couldn’t help but notice a momentary lapse in his focus. "You taking this seriously or nah?"
Taehoon glanced at you, refocusing his gaze. "Relax, babe. I was just getting started."

Chapter 3: 4,345 words
Tumblr media
Toji strode with you backstage, leading you through the maze of corridors until you reach a quieter area. He grabbed a stool and placed it in front of you.
“He’s gonna take a bit. Though, post-match interviews usually don’t last long with him.” he chuckles.
You sat down nervously. The gratitude you felt for Toji and his child was immense; without them, you wouldn't have known what Sukuna was up to all this time.
"Can I have your name?" you asked, curiosity getting the better of you.
"Toji Fushiguro," he replied, a hint of pride in his voice as he shook your hand. "I've been training Sukuna ever since I left the military. What's your name?"
You introduced yourself, and Toji smiled, the expression warm and knowing. Sukuna had never mentioned you to Toji, but it was clear you held a special place in Sukuna's heart. There was no way Sukuna would leave a framed picture of someone in his home if they weren't important.
"I can tell he's missed you."
"I sure hope he did." you replied, your voice soft. "I've missed him too."
You sit there, heart racing as you wait for the moment you’ve been longing for, hoping that this reunion would be everything you’d dreamed it would be.
Toji was partly right. Sukuna didn’t take long because all his responses to the interview questions were half-assed. Still, interviewers swarmed like ants, and there were more comments and questions than usual.
"Thoughts after the fight? I win, so I reign."
"What made me want to switch weight classes? Well, I wanted to, I suppose."
"This is different from my other fights because I'm fighting a different person."
Needless to say, the reporters weren't satisfied and they guess they never will be.
Sukuna scanned the crowd, searching for you, but you were no longer there. Some people had left, and staff were cleaning the place up. However, he spotted the same people you had sat with earlier—your friends, he assumed. He figured they might have answers, so he approached them.
Haibara and Shoko were chattering to themselves, discussing the intensity of the fight and then shifting to how cruel their professors were.
"The feints were so unpredictable, I didn't see any of them coming." Haibara muttered.
"Yeah, like how our prof tells us to study for a specific topic and add a completely new one on the actual exam, what a ruthless old jerk."
Sukuna towered over them, he figured you guys were friends, so he thought to at least show some manners. "Hello, you guys acquainted with—"
Haibara cut him off, unable to contain his excitement. "Yes, we are! She headed backstage with Coach Fushiguro."
Sukuna nodded. "I see, thank you." he said, and without another word, he rushed to go find you.
-
You expected to see Sukuna as soon as you saw fluffy pink hair, but you were mistaken. A kid emerged from the bathroom, holding what appeared to be a Nintendo Switch.
“Yuuji?!?” you exclaimed, recognizing the boy who had grown so much since the last time you saw him. You recalled the times where you played with Yuuji as a toddler while Sukuna worked on his part of a project.
Yuuji’s eyes lit up with pleasant surprise, and he ran to hug you. “I miss you!” he exclaimed, his arms wrapping tightly around you.
“You’ve grown so much!” you marveled, holding him close. “And you’re still as lively as ever. I'm glad you still remember me.”
Yuuji beamed up at you, his eyes sparkling with the same infectious energy you remembered. “I’m so happy to see you!” he said, his excitement evident.
To be frank, Sukuna was quite irritated by the fact Yuuji reunited with you before he did–jealous, even.
“I see you’ve reunited with this annoying brat.” Sukuna said, withholding a smirk as he approached.
You looked up, and there he was. “Ugh, my day just got ruined.” you joked, playfully throwing a punch at him.
“Shut up. Don’t deny the fact that you missed—” Before he could finish, you captured him in an embrace.
He was momentarily stunned. “—me...”
His initial surprise quickly melted into a deep sense of longing.
You felt awkward, your face pressed against his chest. It didn’t bother you a bit that he was sweaty and bloody after the fight, but he hesitated to return the hug.
You felt his body tense slightly before he melted into the hug, his arms wrapping around you with a firm, almost desperate grip. The contact was electrifying, his warmth seeping through the sweat and grime from the fight. It had been so long since you’d felt this close to him, and it felt as though the world had slipped away, leaving just the two of you in a bubble of shared history and affection.
Sukuna held onto you tightly as if he was afraid of letting you go, his breath hitching slightly against your shoulder. You could sense the raw, unspoken emotion in his hold— profound dread of being parted from you once more. He pulled you closer, his grip tight, as if trying to erase the years of distance and disconnection between you. His heart pounded steadily against your chest, a rhythm of relief and longing.
For you, the feeling was equally overwhelming. You missed this closeness— the bickering, the physical contact, the warmth of his body, the sense of familiarity and safety that only he could provide. Your face pressed against his chest, and you could feel the steady rise and fall of his breath.
As you looked up at him, you could see the mixture of emotions in his eyes—relief, happiness, and an unspoken plea for this moment to last forever. It was a fleeting glimpse of the connection that had always been there, buried beneath the surface.
“Congrats on the win, you big dope.” you said, looking up at him. “I’ll patch you up, just like old times.”
“Just like old times.” he huffed, a smile breaking through his irritation. “I’d like that.”
“Now kiss!” Yuuji teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
“EW, NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT.” You and Sukuna both complained in unison, recoiling from each other as if stung.
“Brat, just how disgusting can you get?” Sukuna added, glaring playfully at Yuuji.
You rolled your eyes, brushing off the embarrassment. “Seriously, Yuuji? What are you, five?”
Yuuji grinned, clearly enjoying the chaos he’d caused. “I’m eight, actually.”
Sukuna ruffled Yuuji’s hair, his expression softening despite his irritation. “Don’t get any ideas, kid. We’re just friends.”
“Yeah, super annoying friends. Especially Ryo.” you added, smirking up at Sukuna.
“Annoying, huh? You're the only annoying one here.” Sukuna’s eyes sparkled with amusement.
"Am not."
"Are too."
"Alright, maybe I am, now let me help you." you offered Sukuna, gently guiding him toward a more secluded area where you could tend to his injuries. He hummed in response, a low, appreciative sound that resonated through the still air.
Toji smirked as you and Sukuna headed to a more secluded area. He leaned down to whisper something in Yuuji’s ear. "Yuuji, I have a favor for you."
Yuuji’s eyes lit up. He agreed happily, keeping the secret for now.
Once alone with Sukuna, you began to gather the necessary supplies to tend to his wounds. The room was quiet, save for the soft rustling of bandages and the occasional clink of medical tools. The atmosphere was heavy with unspoken words, the air thick with the tension between you.
“You know, I’m a pro fighter now.” he teased, his voice dripping with mischief. “So I’m at least expecting a pro medic to help me out.”
You pouted playfully, dabbing antiseptic on a nasty cut. “I’m a med student. Isn’t that enough?”
Sukuna was taken aback for a moment. “A med student, huh? That actually suits you. You were always tending to my wounds after fights back then. Guess it’s not much different now.”
You smiled, touched by his words. “Yeah, I suppose it’s not. Though I hope you’ve learned to avoid getting into so many fights.”
He chuckled, the sound deep and rich. “I’m a fighter, remember? It’s kind of my job now. I even got myself an assistant, see them there?”
You rolled your eyes affectionately, wrapping a bandage around his hand. “Still, you could be a little more careful. I’d hate to see you get seriously hurt.”
This conversation felt like Deja vu.
"Don't worry, I knit during my free time."
"NO."
"I'm kidding, woman. Gosh, gullible as always." he chuckled, shaking his head. "But I cook."
"You can actually cook now?" you asked, coming off a bit condescending unintentionally.
"Well, duh, what do you take me for?" Sukuna shot back, a smirk playing on his lips. You were pleasantly surprised.
The both of you sat in silence for a moment.
"You were always good at patching me up after."
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through you at his words. "I guess old habits die hard." you replied, carefully cleaning a cut on his cheek.
As you worked, Sukuna watched you intently. "You know," he said softly, "I never thought I'd see you again."
You met his gaze, your hands pausing for a moment. "Well, I'm just glad we're back in business again. You kicking ass and me making sure yours doesn't get kicked. It's been too long, I don't intend to part from you again."
Sukuna leaned in closer, and he reached out to gently touch your cheek, his voice dropping to a whisper. “Then let’s make sure we never do.”
You finished tending to his wounds, and he looked at you with a soft smile. "Thanks." he said, his voice carrying a depth of gratitude and affection.
You nodded, feeling a lump in your throat. "Anytime, Ryo."
When you finished patching Sukuna up, he stood and stretched, wincing slightly but looking much better. "Now, how about I take you out and grab some food? My assistant reserved a place"
You smiled, feeling a flutter of excitement. "That sounds great. But what about my friends? I feel a bit guilty for leaving them."
Sukuna nodded. "They can come too after I get cleaned up and changed. What about you, Toji?"
Toji approached the two of you, smiling warmly. “I’d love to join, but I’ve been longing to see Megumi and my wife. I should head home.”
“Of course, Toji,” you said, grateful for everything he’d done. “Thank you for everything.”
Toji nodded and patted Sukuna on the back. “Take care, Sukuna. And you,” he turned to you, “don’t be a stranger. Visit us sometime.”
As you headed back to find Shoko and Haibara, Sukuna made a point to thank Toji. “Thanks for everything, Toji. See you soon.”
You both made your way back to where Shoko and Haibara were waiting. Toji, with a knowing smirk, said his goodbyes and headed off, eager to reunite with his family. Sukuna turned to Haibara. "You guys can follow us in your car. She'll ride with me."
Haibara looked between you and Sukuna, a mischievous grin forming. "Alright, sounds good. See you there!"
Shoko gave you a thumbs-up. "Don’t worry about us. We’ll be right behind you." You swore you could've seen them exchange suspicious glances at each other, like how you and Shoko would usually communicate with your eyes.
Sukuna led you to his car, a sleek, black vehicle that screamed luxury. He opened the door for you, and you slid in, feeling the smooth leather beneath you. He got in on the driver's side and started the engine. The night air was cool and refreshing, a perfect backdrop for the unexpected turn your evening had taken. The drive was quiet but comfortable, filled with the soft hum of the engine and the city lights flashing by. Yuuji, who had been playing a round of Overcooked on his Nintendo Switch, eventually dozed off in the back seat, his head resting against Uraume–the boy was probably drooling on them, but they seemed unbothered. He was probably tired of repeating "Are we there yet?" to Sukuna.
“I've missed this.” Sukuna began, glancing over at you as he drove, “Just being with you.” He reached over, giving your hand a gentle squeeze before returning it to the steering wheel.
"I’m glad you’re here.” You said quietly. You glanced at Sukuna, taking in the familiar features you hadn’t seen in so long. It was surreal, almost dreamlike, to be here with him again.
When you arrived at the restaurant, Sukuna handed the keys to Uraume and guided you inside. The place was cozy yet elegant, with a warm ambiance that made you feel instantly at ease. A waiter led you to a private table, and shortly after, Shoko and Haibara joined you, eyes wide with amazement at the upscale setting.
During the dinner, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and the sound of clinking glasses. The restaurant was cozy, with dim lighting that made the space feel intimate. You, Sukuna and Uraume sat at one end of the table, while Shoko and Haibara occupied the other–Yuuji in between them. As the night progressed, you found yourselves reminiscing about the past.
The dinner was filled with jokes and stories, with the discussion going smoothly. It was reminiscent of the past, but also filled with the delight of new moments forming. The unexpected reunion that had brought so much happiness made you feel thankful for the way things had unfolded.
Throughout the night, you couldn't help but steal glances at Sukuna, feeling a sense of warmth every time your gazes locked. It was evident that this was just the start, a fresh chapter in your lives that you were excited to discover alongside each other.
Uraume, Shoko, and Haibara, however, sensed something else going on between you two.
"Remember that time in high school when I got stood up?" you began, taking a sip of your drink. "And the guy who stood me up mysteriously couldn't attend classes the next day because he got jumped by someone?"
Sukuna smirked, though his eyes betrayed a flicker of guilt. "Oh, really? Sounds like he had it coming." he said, trying to sound nonchalant.
"And that someone was you, Ryo," you added, looking directly at him.
Sukuna scoffed, shaking his head. "No idea what you're talking about," he said with a smirk, though his eyes suggested otherwise.
"Sure, sure." you replied, rolling your eyes. "You're going to keep denying it, but I know it was you."
He laughed, "Pure coincidence. I had nothing to do with it."
It was a sweet, if somewhat over-the-top, gesture that he would continue to deny to this day.
Everyone else at the table was equally engrossed in their own conversations, learning more about Yuuji. Unlike Sukuna in his youth, Yuuji was an undeniably good kid, earning praises from everyone.
"And my teacher said I was the goodest boy in the world." Yuuji announced proudly, his eyes shining.
Sukuna rolled his eyes and groaned. "You're still the brattiest to me. Teach's lying."
"You're just jealous."
Yuuji stuck his tongue out at Sukuna, who just chuckled and ruffled the boy’s hair. Shoko and Haibara looked on with amusement, clearly enjoying the dynamic between the two.
You also learned a bit more about Uraume, Sukuna’s assistant. They’ve been working for me for a few years now. Started out as someone who could deal with his paperwork but they've become indispensable.
Throughout the evening, you and Sukuna were noticeably touchy. His arm would find its way around your shoulder, and your head would rest against his chest at times. It was natural and unspoken, yet it drew knowing looks from everyone else at the table.
-
After dinner, everyone gathered outside the restaurant to say their goodbyes. The night air was cool and crisp, a refreshing change from the warmth of the restaurant.
"You comin' with?" Haibara asked, looking back at you with Shoko by his side.
Sukuna glanced at you, a silent plea in his eyes. He didn't want to part ways just yet; he wanted to be the one to take you home.
"I'll be there in a bit." you replied, smiling at your friends.
As Haibara and Shoko waved goodbye and walked towards their car, you turned to Sukuna. The two of you exchanged contact information, a simple act that seemed monumental considering how long it had been, a small but significant step you should have taken years ago.  Along with the contact info he provided, he also gave you Uraume's and Toji's in case he was unreachable.
"I followed you on your socials, by the way." you said with a grin. "Malevolent Chicken or something along those lines on IG, here–"
Sukuna raised an eyebrow. "Huh, last time I tried searching for your name online, I couldn't find a thing."
"Were you... stalking me-?
"Don't get any ideas, you did the same."
You laughed. "Desperate times call for desperate measures." Saving his phone number, you told him, "I'll keep in touch."
"Yeah, you better." Sukuna scoffed, but his eyes were soft as he pulled you into a hug. "I will too."
In his embrace, you felt a wave of emotions. This was a moment you had longed for, a reunion that felt both comforting and exciting. As you pulled away, you looked up at him and smiled.
"See you soon, Ryo."
"See you soon."
"Be kind to Yuuji, hm?" you added softly, sensing that there was something more Sukuna hadn’t shared yet.
"I'm probably the only family he has for now. Though, there is Toji and-" he said, his voice low and serious.
"Count me in." you replied without hesitation. He decided to save this conversation for another time.
You pulled away from the hug and waved goodbye, walking towards Haibara and Shoko.
"Text me once you get home." He called out.
As you left, Yuuji looked up at Sukuna mischievously. "Do you have a crush on—"
"Shut up or you'll end up like Geto. Saw how I beat him?"
“Ooooh! You do like her!” Yuuji’s teasing voice cut through the night air. "You have to rizz her!"
"What the fuck is a 'rizz'?"
"Uhhhh… Whatever! You should kiss her and get married!"
“No, ew.” Sukuna grimaced as he pushed Yuuji’s face away, shuddering when the boy licked his hand. “Oh, you disgusting piece of—Ugh.” He muttered, taking Yuuji and heading back to the car.
"Uraume, can you drive? Let's go home. Something's wrong with this kid." Sukuna said as Yuuji clung onto his legs. The kid is fearless, he's gotta give him that.
"I, for one, think there is nothing wrong with Yuuji." Uraume commented. If they didn't know any better, they would say he was smitten with you.
-
As the car journeyed through the night, you gazed out the window, lost in thought. The city lights flickered past, each one a blur of movement and color.
“That went well.” Shoko remarked, breaking the silence.
“You think he has a girlfriend?” Haibara asked, curiosity evident in his voice.
You softly laughed, a nostalgic smile forming on your lips as you considered the idea of Sukuna having a girlfriend. It was nearly impossible to imagine, considering his mysterious charm and how he appeared to linger just beyond grasp. During your youth, Sukuna was the ultimate symbol of captivating charm– a powerful natural force that attracted admiration everywhere he went.
He always caught people's attention with his impressive presence, and he was definitely well-liked, receiving numerous affections–even if he was rude and reckless. However, despite the attention from admirers and sporadic dates, none of his relationships ever appeared to have much depth or lasting power. They were resembling quick bursts of light that flickered and disappeared instantly after appearing. The concept of him settling for someone who could genuinely hold his elusive heart, felt almost like a whimsical fantasy.
“Huh, I’d probably get into a relationship before he does." you scoffed, half in jest.
“Easy, girl. You’re saying this as if you don’t spend 20 hours a day studying.” Shoko pointed out, her tone both teasing and concerned.
“In my defense, I took the first step of getting out of my academic bubble!” you countered, pouting.
You leaned back in your seat, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over you. You had done more than just the first step. You downloaded social media, watched a live fight, and reunited with your best friend after so many years.
You smiled to yourself, thinking you deserved a lot more credit for breaking out of your shell.
As you looked out at the passing city lights, your thoughts drifted to Sukuna. The idea of him having a girlfriend didn't seem so impossible after all. As a prodigal fighter with a charismatic presence, it was only natural that he would attract attention and possibly even be involved with someone romantically.
The more you thought about it, the more you realized just how much you had missed out on over the years. Your knowledge about Sukuna’s current life was fragmented at best. You knew little about his personal affairs, his love life, or even his daily routines. The gaps in your understanding made you curious to catch up.
Lost in your thoughts, you hadn’t noticed that Haibara had been talking to you. “–Right? Yo, you good there?” Haibara’s voice broke through your reverie.
“H-huh? Oh, yeah. Whatchu say again?” you stammered, trying to refocus.
“Hmm, nothing important...” Haibara replied, his tone carrying a hint of curiosity but dropping the subject.
You nodded absentmindedly, the questions about Sukuna’s life swirling in your mind as the car continued its journey through the night.
Haibara and Shoko exchanged knowing glances, their faces lighting up with mischievous smiles. “Hmm…” they hummed in unison, their eyes locking as they communicated silently.
Shoko’s eyes narrowed playfully. “She might be whipped for him.”
Haibara raised an eyebrow, his grin widening. “It’s probably the other way around.”
“No, no. What if it’s both?!?”
Caught off guard, you glanced between them. “Are you guys communicating with your eyes? Shoko, I thought that was our thing!”
Haibara chuckled, her eyes dancing with amusement. “No, no. It’s also OUR thing,” he teased, glancing at Shoko.
You threw your hands up in mock frustration. “I feel betrayed.”
"Just discussing how cute you and Sukuna are together."
"More like how both of you are completely smitten," Shoko added, winking at you.
You rolled your eyes, a small smile playing on your lips. "You two are ridiculous."
"Ridiculously right." Haibara quipped, earning a laugh from Shoko.
You shook your head, finding their assumptions about you and Sukuna absurd. "You two can't be serious. Falling for Sukuna? That's just ridiculous."
"You can't just touch each other like that and expect us to think you're 'just friends'," Haibara insisted.
Shoko nodded in agreement. "Yu, your wording is all over the place. You make it sound like—"
"Okay, sorry, sorry, but you get my point!" Haibara interrupted.
You scoffed at their words, rolling your eyes.
"Yu, focus on the road," Shoko said, gently reminding him.
Haibara glanced at you in the rearview mirror. "Think about it like this: would you think that me and Shoko are 'just friends' if we acted the same in front of you?"
You hesitated, trying to find the right words. "But Ryo and I are indeed 'just friends'. We've gone on separate dates and—"
"None of them lasted!" Shoko pointed out quickly.
"Oh, please," you retorted, feeling cornered.
Haibara leaned in, his tone softer yet insistent. "Then is Sukuna like a brother to you?"
You paused, considering his question carefully. "I wouldn't say yes, but I wouldn't say no either."
"Because it's weird!" Shoko concluded, her voice tinged with triumph.
You let out a sigh, feeling the weight of their observations. "Fine, maybe it's a bit weird. But that doesn't mean I'm in love with him."
"Yet." Haibara added with a smirk.
"Come on, guys. I've been friends with him for years. I haven't seen him since my last day in high school. It's a bit odd that I'd develop feelings like that," you said, trying to sound convincing.
"Maybe give it some time," Haibara suggested, glancing at Shoko, who nodded in agreement.
They didn't want to push you, but they knew how much you had on your plate with college and everything else. If this meant you could focus on something outside your academic life, maybe you'd be able to unwind a bit.
"But y'know," Shoko added gently, "whatever your decision is, we support you."
You appreciated their support, even if you weren't entirely convinced by their perspective. The idea of developing romantic feelings for Sukuna after all these years seemed unlikely, but you couldn't deny that your recent reunion had stirred up emotions you hadn't anticipated.
-
As Uraume drove home, the rhythmic hum of the engine seemed to resonate with the storm of thoughts swirling chaotically in Sukuna's mind. The idea of seeing you in any way other than a cherished friend was inconceivable. Stupid Yuuji and his stupid little ideas.
Not in a thousand lifetimes would he ever view you as more than a best friend.
You might be the most captivating person he’s ever laid eyes on, the sweetest and most loyal companion he could wish for, but nothing more than that. He would go to great lengths for you, spend the rest of his life with you but never see you as anything more than just a best friend.
“Hmph. There’s no way."
Even though your eyes were something that could break his very soul yet hold an affectionate gaze,
“That’s just ridiculous.”
He brushed off the way he questioned his resolve when it came to your touch, warm and comforting on the coldest of days,
“How preposterous.”
He won't bring himself or even learn to see you that way.
"It's outrageous."
Because maybe, just maybe, staying friends was the best thing for both of you. It was better this way, he told himself, it had to be. It would be okay.

Chapter 3: 4,341 words

Yuuji stuck his tongue out at Sukuna, who just chuckled and ruffled the boy’s hair. Shoko and Haibara looked on with amusement, clearly enjoying the dynamic between the two.
You also learned a bit more about Uraume, Sukuna’s assistant. They’ve been working for him for a few years now.

"–Yet." Haibara added with a smirk.

Chapter 2: 5,555 words
Tumblr media
The living room was spacious and tastefully decorated, evident to Sukuna’s success. Sukuna and Toji sat on opposite ends of a sleek, modern couch. Sukuna casually tossed a can of beer to Toji before cracking open one for himself. The sound of the tab snapping echoed in the room, mingling with the faint noise of the kids playing.
Toji cracked open his beer, taking a long sip before leaning back. "So, Sukuna..." he began, his tone casual but his eyes sharp. "Have you been finding the latest matches more difficult?"
Sukuna scoffed, rolling his eyes as he popped open his own can. "Tch, no." he replied dismissively, taking a swig of his drink.
The hint of irritation in his voice was clear; the mere suggestion that he might be struggling was almost insulting.
Toji nodded, unfazed by Sukuna’s response. "I see." he said thoughtfully. "Well, if it’s becoming too easy for you, maybe it’s time to switch weight classes. We could put on a little more weight on you, I'm sure you can transition well."
Sukuna’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn’t argue. He respected Toji’s opinion; after all, Toji was the one who trained him and knew his capabilities better than anyone else. "Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that." he admitted. "I’m game."
Toji took another sip of his beer, his gaze steady on Sukuna. "However," he began, his voice taking on a more serious tone, "this will mean you’ll be dealing with more difficult opponents. Faster and stronger ones at that."
Sukuna’s pride was a fortress, impenetrable and vast. Admitting any struggle was not in his nature. Toji knew this well, and he chose his words carefully, aware of how much Sukuna valued his image. He had seen Sukuna’s last match, had witnessed the brief moments where his opponent’s speed had been impressive enough to cause a flicker of frustration on Sukuna’s face. Nothing Sukuna couldn’t handle, of course, but it had been a slight challenge nonetheless.
Toji continued, listing off potential opponents, which some Sukuna thinks aren't really a challenge. "Then there’s Masamichi Yaga. Intimidating and remarkably strong. He’s a force to be reckoned with."
Sukuna’s expression remained unreadable, though Toji could see the flicker of interest in his eyes. He pressed on. "And there’s Suguru Geto. Steady and relentless. He can easily knock teeth out with a single punch."
Sukuna’s grin widened, his cockiness shining through. "Psshh, let 'em come." he said, his voice brimming with confidence. "I’ll take them all down. Yaga, Geto—doesn’t matter. They’re just stepping stones."
Toji knew Sukuna thrived on competition, and these names were already fueling his determination. "And finally, Gojo Satoru." Toji said, his voice dropping slightly.
"Known for his speed and his ability to dodge and tire out his opponents. His strength can easily send opponents stumbling back. Almost seems unfair. 'Untouchable'."
Sukuna’s eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of Gojo, but the cocky grin never left his face. The thought of facing someone with such a reputation was both daunting and exhilarating.
"Gojo, huh?" He scoffs. "Sounds like a real challenge. But you know what? I’m going to enjoy breaking him down. I'll split him in half, heh."
Sukuna’s jaw tightened slightly, his pride flaring at the possibility that he might struggle. "I can handle it." he said firmly, almost defensively. "I don’t care how fast or strong they are. I’ll fucking take them down."
Toji’s lips curled into a faint smile. "I don’t doubt that for a second. But we need to adjust your training to match the new challenges you’ll face. We’ll focus more on speed and agility, on top of your usual strength and power routines."
Sukuna nodded, his mind already shifting into gear, thinking about the changes and the new strategies he’d need to adopt. "Fine" he said, his voice resolute. "Let’s do it. I’m ready for whatever comes next."
Toji raised his beer in a toast, his eyes gleaming with approval. "That’s the spirit," he said. "We’ll start tomorrow. Get ready to push your limits."
The atmosphere in the living room shifted as Toji moved on to the next topic. Sukuna could feel the weight of it before Toji even spoke. He glanced over at the play area, where Yuuji and Megumi were engaged in a game, imitating their favorite superheroes. The sight brought a faint smile to Sukuna’s lips, a rare moment of softness breaking through his usual tough exterior.
Toji took a deep breath, his expression serious. "How’s Yuuji holding up?"
Sukuna’s gaze lingered on the two boys for a moment longer before he turned back to Toji. "He’s... managing, I suppose." Sukuna said slowly. "In the beginning, I didn’t know what to do with him. He’s my nephew, but we’ve never been that close. He always reminded me of my brother, and we had our share of petty fights and teasing."
He paused, his thoughts drifting back to the early days when Yuuji first came to stay with him. The kid had been resilient, putting on a brave face despite the loss. Sukuna had tried to keep things normal, but he could tell that Yuuji was hurting. Truth be told, Sukuna was saddened by the passing of his older brother too. Sure, they might have not been the bestest of brothers, but they still cared for one another.
Toji nodded, his expression understanding. "It’s not easy; raising a kid who’s lost so much. But you’re doing your best, Sukuna. And if you ever need help, you know my wife and I are here for you. We’re more than willing to care for Yuuji if you need a break or anything else."
Sukuna sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I appreciate that. It’s only been a few weeks since his parents passed, and I can tell he’s putting up a front. Acting like everything’s fine when it’s not. I just... don’t know how to break through to him."
Toji’s eyes softened with empathy. "Grief is a tricky thing, especially for a child. He might not even fully understand what he’s feeling. Just keep being there for him, even if he doesn’t always show it. He needs to know he’s not alone."
Sukuna nodded, his gaze drifting back to Yuuji. The boy was laughing now, pretending to fly around the room with Megumi. Despite everything, he still found moments of joy. Sukuna’s heart ached at the thought of how much Yuuji had lost, but he was determined to do right by him.
"I’ll do my best," Sukuna said quietly. "For him."
Toji smiled, reaching over to give Sukuna’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "That’s all you can do, my friend. And remember, you’re not alone in this either. We’re here to support you both."
Sukuna tore his gaze from Yuuji and looked at Toji, appreciating the offer.
Toji smiled reassuringly, then chuckled. "You know, Sukuna, your assistant–Uraume, right? Yeah. They've been complaining. They say you’re not giving them real work lately, just telling them to handle Yuuji."
Sukuna nodded thoughtfully, his mind racing with possibilities. "You’re right. Uraume’s great, but Yuuji needs more than just someone to keep an eye on him. He needs someone who can support him emotionally."
 "He’s a good kid, Sukuna."
Sukuna leaned back, looking unfazed. "If it’s about finding me a date, don’t bother. The last one was a nightmare—crazy and annoying. Stupid bitch didn’t care about my boundaries."
Toji took a sip of his beer and then set it down, his gaze becoming more focused. "There’s one last thing I wanted to mention."
Sukuna raised a brow, "Oh?"
There was this woman–" he began, his tone more serious.
-
It had been a long day of training, and Sukuna was looking forward to a quiet evening. Uraume had convinced him to give dating another shot, setting him up with someone they insisted was "perfect" for him. Reluctantly, Sukuna agreed.
The evening started off smoothly enough. The woman, a striking beauty with sharp eyes and a confident demeanor, had seemed promising at first. The restaurant was a picture of elegance—a grand chandelier hung from the ceiling, its crystals casting a warm, golden light over the pristine white tablecloths. Each table was adorned with a small, delicate flower arrangement, and the soft notes of a grand piano played in the background.
He was dressed in a sharp suit, the dark fabric accentuating his formidable physique. Despite the sophisticated atmosphere, he felt out of place, as if the grandeur of the place was mocking his discomfort.
She was already seated at the table, her attire elegant and her posture poised. She greeted him with a bright smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. Sukuna, "it’s so nice to finally meet you."
"Likewise." he said, though his tone was curt.
As they sat down, she immediately dominated the conversation, her voice loud and grating. She spoke at length about her own life, her achievements, and her exes, barely pausing to ask Sukuna anything about himself. He tried to interject a few times, but she steamrolled over his attempts to steer the conversation.
The night took a turn for the worse when the food arrived. She complained incessantly—about the texture of the steak, the seasoning of the vegetables, the temperature of the wine. Her shrill voice cut through the ambient noise of the restaurant, drawing the attention of nearby diners.
Sukuna’s patience wore thin as the evening dragged on. He could feel his temper rising, but he forced himself to remain calm, not wanting to cause a scene.
Things escalated when she started probing into his personal life. "So, why don’t you have a girlfriend?" she asked, her tone dripping with condescension. "A guy like you should be swarming with women."
Sukuna clenched his jaw. "I’m busy with my career. It doesn’t leave much time for relationships."
She laughed, a harsh sound that grated on his nerves. "Oh, please. Everyone makes time for what they want. Maybe you’re just afraid of commitment."
Sukuna’s eyes narrowed. "Or maybe I just haven’t met anyone worth my time."
Her expression darkened, and she leaned forward, her voice lowering to a dangerous whisper. "You think you’re better than everyone else, don’t you? Just because you’re some hotshot fighter."
Sukuna remained silent, his gaze steady. She reached across the table and grabbed his wrist, her grip surprisingly strong. "Let me tell you something, Sukuna. You’re not as special as you think you are."
Sukuna stood abruptly, pulling his wrist free. "This date is over." he said coldly, throwing a wad of cash on the table to cover the bill. He walked out without looking back, feeling her furious gaze burning into his back.
-
Before Toji could elaborate, Sukuna cut him off. "No, not happening. If I want to let my sexual frustration pass, I can just do it myself or hire a—"
"The girl in the picture over there," Toji interrupted, his eyes flicking towards the TV stand. He walked over and picked up a picture frame. "I thought she looked familiar."
Sukuna’s casual demeanor faltered as he followed Toji’s gaze. His eyes widened in surprise. "What?"
Toji turned the picture frame so Sukuna could see it. It was a photo of Sukuna with you from years ago, back when you both were inseparable. "I saw her today in 7/11 with Megumi. He told me he showed her a video of your match with Mahito last year. It seemed like it was her first time seeing you on screen."
Sukuna’s heart skipped a beat. Memories of you flooded his mind—your laughter, your shared moments, and the way you used to look at him with such genuine affection. He hadn’t seen you in years, and the thought of you stumbling upon his current life, completely unaware of his fame, was almost surreal.
"She looked... well?" Sukuna asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Toji nodded. "Yeah, she seemed alright. Just a bit shocked when she saw the video. It was like she didn’t recognize you at first, according to Gumi."
Sukuna felt a strange mix of emotions—relief that you were okay, anxiety about how you’d react if you saw him now, and a deep yearning to reconnect. He'd always wonder what had happened to you after all these years. The possibility of seeing you again was both exhilarating and terrifying. He knew his life had changed drastically, and he wasn’t sure how you would fit into it now.
"Do you... know where she is now?" Sukuna asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Toji shook his head. "No, but if she’s around here, you might run into her again. Maybe it’s time to reach out."
"I’ll figure it out." Sukuna said finally, his resolve hardened. "Thanks, Toji."
Toji smiled, clapping Sukuna on the back. "Good luck, Sukuna. Sometimes, the past has a way of catching up with us for a reason."
As Toji and Megumi left, Sukuna stood there, staring at the picture in his hands. He couldn’t help but feel that this unexpected encounter was the universe’s way of giving him a second chance. And this time, he wouldn’t let you slip away.
-
"Let me just stalk her on social media real quick–" He chuckled to himself. Now, unfortunately, you haven't even created one yet. So after a while of searching for your name online, he found nothing.
He gave up.
The steam from your bath still lingered in the bathroom as you sat at your desk, wrapped in a cozy towel. You had managed to get clean and relax for a short while, but now you faced a new challenge.
You stared at your laptop screen, your fingers poised above the keyboard. The faint scent of lavender still clung to your skin, a soothing contrast to the whirlwind of thoughts in your mind. You took a deep breath, trying to focus on your mission.
After much deliberation, you decided to go with your full name. It was straightforward but effective, something that would hopefully catch Sukuna’s eye if he ever happened to scroll through his notifications.
"Okay, let’s go with this." You clicked "Create Account" entering your name and choosing a profile picture from an old photo album. It was a picture of you and Sukuna from years ago, one where you were both smiling and happy. It seemed to fit the mood you wanted to convey.
Once the Twitter account was set up, you downloaded a few other social media apps. You created new accounts under your old Counter-Strike username, to match the one that you had chosen for Sukuna as a joke all those years ago.
As you went through the apps, you couldn’t help but get caught up in the sheer volume of content surrounding Sukuna.
On Instagram, you found fan pages dedicated to him—photos of him in action, clips from interviews, and memes featuring his fiercest fights.  People often gushed about his strength, his looks, and his charisma.
"No lube no pr-"
"Ong zaddy😫😫"
"He can punch me, I would not complain"
"That kick was so fatal I felt my spine crack"
"I think I'm home essential"
On YouTube, you watched highlights of his past matches. The comments were filled with praise, and edits glorified every punch, kick, and victory. The scale of his fame was overwhelming, and you felt a pang of nostalgia for the simpler times you had with him.
You followed him on all of his handles, but notifications were likely lost among thousands of others. As a celebrity, Sukuna’s social media was a cluttered mess of fan interactions and spam. It was clear that being a celebrity came with its own set of challenges—his inbox was filled to the brim with requests, messages, and fan mail.
-
Several weeks and then a few months passed in a blur. The relentless pace of med school continued, and before you knew it, you had finished your finals with a high mark. Shoko, on the other hand, had managed to perfect everything with a grace that seemed almost effortless.
Your attempts to reconnect with Sukuna had dwindled over time. Messages left unread, notifications buried beneath a mountain of fans—your efforts seemed wasted. The excitement you had felt when making that first contact had given way to a resigned acceptance of the distance that now lay between you and your old friend.
One afternoon, as you and Shoko walked across the campus grounds, you couldn’t help but exclaim, "Zayum, woman!" at the sight of her glowing with pride over her perfect grades. Shoko smirked at your reaction, basking in the moment of triumph.
"Well, somebody had to set the bar high." she said with a grin. "But don’t you dare slack off now. We’re done with this phase, but there’s still a lot of work ahead."
You rolled your eyes playfully, glad for the reprieve from the constant stress of exams and assignments.
As you walked towards the nearby café, a familiar figure came rushing towards you and Shoko. It was Yu Haibara, and his usual cheerful demeanor was more vibrant than ever.
Before either of you could react, Haibara collided with Shoko, nearly knocking her bubble tea out of her hand.
"Hey… H-hey, guys!" Haibara said breathlessly, holding up a pair of tickets in his hand. "Guess what? I’ve got something amazing for you guys!"
Shoko shot him a glare, clearly taken aback by the sudden impact. "Haibara! Watch where you’re going!"
Haibara waved the tickets in front of her, a grin spreading across his face. "Sorry, sorry! But you won’t believe this—look at what I have!"
You and Shoko’s eyes widened as you both stared at the tickets. In unison, you both spat out your bubble tea, your mouths dropping open in shock.
You exchanged a look with Shoko, a silent conversation passing between you through a glance.
'Girl, it’s an opportunity!' She thought, excitement bubbling up.
'I know!' Your eyes reflected the same exhilaration.
Haibara watched the two of you with a puzzled expression, clearly confused by the wordless exchange. "If you guys don’t wanna go—"
"WE ARE SO GOING." Both you and Shoko said in unison, your voices brimming with enthusiasm.
Haibara grinned, clearly pleased with your reaction. "Awesome! I'll pick you guys up later."
-
A few hours later, Haibara arrived at your shared apartment, ready to take you and Shoko to the arena. The three of you piled into Haibara’s car, the excitement in the air noticeable as he began the drive.
"So, didn’t know you guys were fans of Sukuna." Haibara said, glancing at you through the rearview mirror.
"Oh, not really," Shoko replied, her eyes glinting with mischief. "I just thought this was the perfect opportunity for a certain someone to reconnect with an old friend."
Haibara’s eyebrows shot up. "Oh? Your friend is coming too?"
You started to respond, but Shoko cut in with a grin. "Well, he’s actually—"
"—SHE’S LITERALLY FRIENDS WITH RYOMEN SUKUNA!" Shoko burst out, unable to contain her excitement any longer.
Haibara swerved the car in surprise. "What? Are you serious?"
"Careful, Yu. We might get into an accident before we even arrive there." Shoko murmured.
You bit your lip, feeling a flush of embarrassment as Haibara stared at you through the mirror in disbelief. "Yeah, it’s true." you said, trying to sound casual but failing miserably. "It's been a while."
Haibara’s eyes widened as he turned to look at you more closely. "AND HOW DID I NOT KNOW ANY OF THIS?!?"
Shoko leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Manifesting he notices you in the crowd, just imagine how sweet that would be."
Haibara grinned, clearly thrilled by the revelation. "Well, I guess this is even more exciting than I thought! I mean, getting to see Sukuna fight and also have a chance to meet him again? That’s amazing."
You nodded, "Yeah, it’s kind of overwhelming. I hope this goes well."
Shoko patted your arm reassuringly. "You’ll be fine. Just be yourself and see what happens."
Haibara chuckled. "With this kind of luck, I’m sure it’ll be an unforgettable night."
As the car continued its drive through the bustling city streets, the neon lights casting a kaleidoscope of colors on the windshield, you gazed out the window, trying to steady your nerves. The arena loomed ahead, its towering structure illuminated against the night sky, drawing nearer with every passing moment. You took a deep breath, bracing yourself for the evening that lay ahead,
When you finally arrived at the arena, the buzz of the crowd was electric. The air was filled with the hum of excitement, and you could feel the anticipation radiating from the throngs of people heading towards the entrance.
Haibara confidently walked ahead in the busy crowd, showing his excitement with his quick steps and big smile. "Let's go, we need to locate our seats!" he shouted, his voice almost drowned out by the noise.
You and Shoko hurriedly followed, feeling your hearts beat fast as you entered the arena and took your seats. The constant roar of the crowd served as a powerful background to the significant event that was about to happen. The large stadium was packed with excited spectators, all ready for the show to start.
You tried to ignore the flutter of nerves in your stomach as you focused on the ring in front of you. This was it—the chance to see Sukuna again, and hopefully, the opportunity you had been waiting for.  While you sat down in your seats, you looked around at the enthusiastic faces and lively talks of the fans nearby. The arena grew darker as the lights dimmed, and the excitement peaked, a surge of energy that made your skin crawl.
The lights above the ring began to shift and the announcer’s voice boomed over the speakers, setting the stage for what would be a night to remember.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the announcer began, "welcome to the battle of the evening!"
The crowd erupted into cheers, the noise almost deafening as you strained to see through the sea of people.
You took the chance to search the ring for any sign of Sukuna.
"Prepare yourselves for the fight of the century! In the red corner, hailing from the shadows, the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna!"
The crowd erupted as Sukuna stepped into the ring, his presence alone commanding respect and fear. His heavily tattooed body was a canvas of power, his eyes gleaming with a feral intensity that promised destruction. With a smirk that sent chills down spines, he looked around the arena, enjoying the excitement for the upcoming fight.
"And in the blue corner, we have the enigmatic and calculating genius, The Supreme; Geto Suguru!"
Suguru's entrance was a contrast to Sukuna's, his movements fluid and graceful, like a predator stalking its prey. His calm demeanor masked a cunning mind, and the air around him crackled with latent energy. He locked eyes with Sukuna, a silent challenge passing between them.
The referee stepped forward, giving the final instructions, but neither fighter paid him any mind. They were already locked in their own battle, a war of wills that would soon erupt into a clash of titans.
"Are you ready?" the referee asked, but it was a redundant question. The crowd knew these two warriors had been ready their entire lives.
"Fight!" 👹
The bell sounded, and Sukuna shot forward with immense power and aggression, moving like a blur. Suguru confronted him directly, displaying fluid and precise movements comparable to a dancer. The initial conflict was a flurry of punches and anger, with no one backing down.
You observed Sukuna delivering quick punches, each one targeted with lethal accuracy. Suguru effectively blocked and countered; his defense remained unyielding and impenetrable. With each successful strike, the audience's excitement grew.
Sukuna feinted a left jab, then swung with a powerful right hook. Suguru ducked just in time, his counterpunch grazing Sukuna's jaw. The impact sent a ripple of tension through the crowd. Sukuna shook it off, a fierce grin spreading across his face. He thrived on the challenge, the thrill of a worthy opponent.
In the midst of the action, Sukuna glanced towards the crowd. His eyes scanned the faces, there he saw you–and for a moment, he paused. "Call me a child again for imagining you so vividly…" he muttered, not realizing you were actually there, watching him with a mix of pride and concern.
Suguru took advantage of Sukuna’s momentary distraction. A roundhouse kick to Sukuna’s side. Pain flashed across Sukuna’s face. He staggered but didn’t fall. Determination replaced the surprise. His eyes locked on yours. Realization dawned. You were really there.
With renewed focus, Sukuna pressed forward, his attacks more calculated. He aimed a high kick at Suguru's head, forcing him to block high, then swiftly transitioned into a low sweep, catching Suguru off balance. Suguru stumbled but recovered quickly, his movements agile and controlled.
The round continued with both fighters exchanging blows, their skills evenly matched. Suguru’s strategy became clear as he started to wear Sukuna down with precise, energy-sapping strikes. But Sukuna’s endurance and sheer willpower kept him pushing forward, each strike more powerful than the last.
As the first round neared its end, Sukuna landed a solid punch to Suguru's ribs, the impact echoing through the arena. Suguru winced, the pain evident, but he didn’t back down. The two warriors continued their dance of combat, neither willing to yield. Fortunately for Sukuna, he landed a blow with a satisfying impact, driving Suguru back towards the ropes.
The bell rang, signaling the end of the first round. The crowd erupted in applause, the noise almost deafening. Both fighters retreated to their corners, breathing heavily, their bodies marked with the evidence of their fight.
You watch Sukuna take a deep breath. His eyes scan the crowd. This time, his gaze locks onto yours. Recognition dawns. Fierce determination sets in.
Shoko nudged your elbow, "He's looking at you, he knows you're here." You glanced back at her, smiling faintly.
The one-minute break ticked away. Sukuna never took his eyes off you. He knew you were there. With that realization, he was ready to give this fight everything he had.
Round 2 started with Sukuna and Suguru both being cautious and alert, their actions hesitant but poised to spring into action. The bell sounded, and Sukuna rushed ahead with a determined expression on his face. Suguru expected and dodged Sukuna's first attack, then responded with a rapid series of hits targeting Sukuna's abdomen.
Sukuna made a grunting sound, sensing the force but not giving in. He responded by delivering a spinning kick that barely touched Suguru's shoulder, causing him to be pushed backwards. Suguru quickly reorganized himself, his gaze sharpening with renewed concentration. He feinted left, then drove a knee into Sukuna's abdomen, forcing him to double over.
The crowd roared with each exchange, the energy in the arena electric. Blood dripped from a cut on Sukuna's brow, mixing with the sweat on his face. Suguru's movements were fluid, almost effortless, as he continued to press the attack.
Sukuna's mind raced, weighing his options. He needed to change the momentum, regain control. With a sudden burst of speed, he closed the distance between them and delivered a series of rapid punches to Suguru's torso. One connected with a satisfying thud, knocking the wind out of Suguru momentarily.
But Suguru recovered quickly, his expression hardening. He stepped back, assessing Sukuna with a calculating gaze. They circled each other, the tension thick between them.
Sukuna lunged forward again, aiming for Suguru's head with a high kick. Suguru ducked and swept Sukuna's legs out from under him. Sukuna hit the mat hard, the impact reverberating through his body.
The crowd gasped as Sukuna struggled to regain his footing. He rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding Suguru's follow-up strike aimed at his head. Adrenaline surged through him as he sprang back up, determination blazing in his eyes.
Suguru smirked, sensing Sukuna's frustration. He feinted left, then launched a devastating spinning back kick that caught Sukuna square in the chest. Sukuna staggered, the breath knocked out of him.
The seconds ticked by agonizingly slow as Sukuna fought to catch his breath. He locked eyes with you in the crowd, drawing strength from your presence. With a primal roar, he charged back into the fray, his movements fueled by sheer willpower and the desire to prove himself.
The round neared its end, both fighters battered and bruised but refusing to yield. They exchanged a final flurry of blows, each strike carrying the weight of their determination and the consequences of victory or defeat.
Suguru's eyes gleamed with intensity as he landed a final, crushing blow—a spinning backfist that sent Sukuna crashing to the canvas. The referee stepped in, calling the round. The arena erupted with applause, the air thick with tension and disbelief.
Sukuna rose slowly, determination etched on his face. He wiped blood from his split lip, his gaze never leaving Suguru. The fight wasn't over yet.
The bell rang, signaling the end of round two. The crowd erupted once more, the noise echoing through the arena. Sukuna and Suguru retreated to their corners, breathing heavily, their minds racing with strategies for the next round.
On your side in the stands, Shoko and Haibara clung to you, their expressions reflecting the tension in the arena. "Nervous for him?" Shoko asked softly, her voice barely audible over the crowd's murmurs. You only nodded, unable to tear your eyes away from the ring where Sukuna and Suguru were catching their breath between rounds.
Haibara patted you on the back, a reassuring gesture that did little to ease the knot in your stomach. The first round had been intense, but Sukuna faltered during the second, and Suguru seized control. Now, with the momentum against him, Sukuna's endurance was being put to the ultimate test.
In the brief respite, Sukuna stood in his corner, chest heaving. He wiped sweat from his brow, his mind racing. Toji's words echoed in his head—changing weight classes brought fiercer competition. He hated to admit it, but Toji was right. He adjusted, recalculated, finding the flaws in Suguru's technique, the chinks in his armor.
The referee signaled the start of the second round. Sukuna squared his shoulders, eyes locking onto Suguru with renewed focus. He had a strategy now, a plan to turn the tide in his favor.
Round three began, Sukuna and Suguru met in the center of the ring, both fighters showing signs of wear from the previous rounds. The crowd roared, sensing that this round could decide the outcome of the match.
Sukuna moved with calculated aggression, his movements sharper than before. He feinted left, launched a blistering combination of punches. Suguru defended, but Sukuna's strikes found their mark, forcing Suguru to retreat.
The arena trembled with each exchange. Sukuna's strategy became clear—he was aiming to overwhelm Suguru with relentless offense. He drove Suguru back with a series of powerful kicks and hooks fueled by determination.
Suguru countered with his trademark precision, weaving through Sukuna's attacks and landing precise strikes to vulnerable spots. Sukuna gritted his teeth, absorbing the hits while seeking openings of his own.
As the round progressed, both fighters showed signs of fatigue, their movements becoming slightly slower. Sukuna dug deep, drawing on his reserves of strength and resilience. He unleashed a spinning back kick that caught Suguru off guard, staggering him momentarily.
The crowd erupted as Sukuna pressed his advantage. He closed the distance, delivering a punishing knee to Suguru's abdomen. Suguru doubled over, gasping for breath, but managed to deflect a follow-up strike from Sukuna.
With each passing second, Sukuna's confidence grew. He ducked under a wild swing from Suguru, delivering a punishing uppercut that snapped Suguru's head back. The arena vibrated with the force of the impact.
Suguru struggled to regain his footing, but Sukuna didn't let up. He continued to press his advantage, his attacks relentless and unforgiving. The crowd was on its feet, swept up in the intensity of the battle unfolding before them.
In a final, decisive move, Sukuna unleashed a devastating combination that left Suguru staggering. With a powerful finishing blow, Sukuna sent Suguru crashing to the mat. The referee stepped in, calling the fight. 👹
The arena erupted in thunderous applause as Sukuna stood victorious. He raised his arms in triumph, chest heaving with exertion. The battle had been hard-fought, but Sukuna's determination and strategic prowess prevailed.
On your side, Shoko and Haibara cheered, their voices joining the chorus of celebration. You couldn't help but feel a surge of pride and relief as you watched Sukuna bask in his hard-earned victory.
You waved eagerly to Sukuna as he stood victorious in the ring, his gaze scanning the crowd. For a brief moment, his eyes lock onto yours, a flicker of recognition crossing his face. Mission accomplished.
Toji Fushiguro strode purposefully towards your area, his presence commanding attention amidst the celebratory atmosphere. He locked eyes with you, a knowing expression on his face.
"It's you, been a while." Toji said, voice low but firm. "Come backstage."
You exchanged quick glances with Haibara and Shoko. This unexpected invitation from Toji, Sukuna's coach and confidant,  carried a weight of significance.
"Well, hurry up," Toji had smirked, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Sukuna doesn't have all day."
