hi! I’ve been working on something but i’m worried there wouldn’t be an audience for it; i know the whole “If you like what you’re working on others will too” but i’m just nervous, sooooo…
would anyone be interested in listening to an audio drama/horror fiction podcast about a small town surrounded by haunted/possessed forests in which people go missing?
Like a Gravity Falls meets Magnus Archives meets Old Gods of Appalachia! Classic “interview/on-tape recording/statements given” thing.
Jack Weaver is NOT a paranormal investigator. He’s just a normal teen, trying to help his detective father solve missing peoples cases in his new town. Realizing there’s more to the woods that surround the town, he starts collecting rules by which to abide when interacting with the terrifying forest.
just wondering if it feels like it would have an audience, just wanted to see what people think :) thank you!
#YES im so down#i love the works youre taking inspiration from and comparing it to#so this sounds right up my alley

Hi! What is Whalefall about? I'm super excited, literally always craving a new horror podcast. Also, the artwork is cool!
Hello! So Whalefall is still in the works but I will be launching a pilot soon.
It's about a young woman named Ophelia Colt from Philadelphia who is sent to a remote mountain town by the name of Lake Fargo, Arkansas. Her family won't tell her why she's there, but insist on her sending back her field notes on tapes.
The longer she spends in this little town, the more strange and unnatural things start showing themselves. She begins finding mysterious files around the town containing stories of those who faced monsters and some by those who never made it out alive.
Who is leaving these stories? Why was she sent here? What is lurking beneath this town? She must figure all of this out before the monsters and her family come knocking.
(Also thank you i did the art :) )

Hey, this is going to be a blog for hopefully useful content warnings for those with misophonia, or any other auditory sensory sensitivities, for audio dramas and fiction podcasts,
mostly horror, as that’s what I’m currently into.
Posts will be separated by season (or chapter/year/whatever format the series uses) with warnings for each episode relating to common misophonia triggers or sound sensitivities, and links to episode transcripts if available.
If you have sensory issues relating to noise, please pipe in with some recommendations for content warnings you’d find useful.
Shows I currently plan on covering:
Malevolent
The Magnus Archives
The Magnus Protocol
Podcasts I will get around to eventually when I finally listen to them
Welcome to Night Vale
Camp here & there
I Am In Eskew
The Split Verses
Old Gods of Appalachia And more!
Expect longer series to take more time to cover, as some of these series have a whole lot of episodes to go through, I'm only one person after all.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! We are at $1,830 dollars- that's 20% of our goal. We are only $445 dollars away from our next milestone of 25%!!
As an incentive, I have promised to write and post a Eel Poem when we hit $2,275. I am not a poet, and I expect seasoned poets @fayrobertsuk and @doctorloup to mock me mercilessly, but I will DO IT FOR YOU!
If you want me to embarrass myself, you can donate at

the communal way in which podcast spread is something i adore so much. it requires you to share your love for the series, bc in gatekeeping it you diminish its chances of even continuing. they’re passion projects and they thrive on the passion of others
on that note, i found and listened to “the gospel of haven” today and ITS SO AMAZING. it’s everything im looking for in horror, i love how the themes of religious and body horror interact and also how it so far creates the horror of societal control, imposed on both body and mind. the mental image of the world is both beautiful and grotesque. i can’t wait for more!!!!!! and i can’t recommend it enough!!

I cannot more emphatically recommend The White Vault. My fav of all time. also seconding TMA. I’ve given Don’t Mind Cruxmont a try lately and enjoyed it!
Some other bangers:
- Red Valley
- Old Gods of Appalachia
- The Penumbra Podcast
- Syntax
- Out of Place
Edit: pulled the trigger in the post button a smidge early LOL
All of these fit the genres if horror except imo The Penumbra Podcast, which actually follows a few separate stories in a couple genres.
TWV and Old Gods is kinda like… eldritch horror ish? This classification needs peer review. Red valley, Syntax and Out of Place (sorta) i think fall better under sci-fi horror. I havent finished Dont Mind Cruxmont yet so I’m not sure where itd fit in the horror subgenres.
Old Gods is a long story but one thats sort of set up like an anthology. It all comes together. TPP again is a couple long stories in different settings. Out of Place is more like anthology. Everything else is long story.
Fiction podcast recs?
Malevolent is coming up on its final season (SOB 😭), so I will NEED something to fill the void. I'm partial to horror but open to any genre. Preferably no anthologies, I want something with a longer plot, but I'll check out any recs!
Good sound design is a must.
Some other ones that I've previously listened to and enjoyed include: Limetown, Hymns for the Road, Welcome to Night Vale, Batman: The Audio Adventures, Batman: Unburied, and SCP: Find Us Alive.
