Hmm.. dropped this one. I know it’s one of the most popular anime out there, but I am very picky with art-style (though I can overlook it if the premise of the anime sounds very promising). I do know that sometimes things can be a little bit stale at the beginning and then everything gets better, but I heard the rumours that the ending of Bleach manga was very disappointing, so I decided not to invest time into 366 episodes of it lest I really end up disappointed (it already kind of happened with another long-ass anime).

I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved this anime! It had everything - amazing magic, action, humor (!), bits of romance, heartbreaking scenes, character development, history and lore… I shipped Mustang and Hawkeye so much… Ed’s personality never ceased to amuse me, and Izumi Curtis is my mother, ok?

Recommendations for thriller/mystery animes >:3

and I just realized that I need more of thriller/mystery animes myself o_o but I found 4 that I would recommend (though, I bet they are quite popular, thus you might have seen them already).

Another - mystery, horror, supernatural, thriller, school

Ah, the gem that got me hooked on anime… my only regret is that I watched it dubbed. I am seriously contemplating rewatching it. I liked it cause it wasn’t blood and gore just for the sake of making viewers queasy (though, there are some rather shocking deaths). The mysterious curse that was taking the lives of high-school students because of the so-called “extra” student, in my opinion, was well-crafted and maintained the suspense until the very end when the real culprit was revealed - honestly, I didn’t see that plot twist coming. 

Death Parade - game, mystery, psychological, drama, thriller

Love love love the aesthetic of this anime! To build that bar in sims is still something I wanna do. I really enjoyed the psychological aspect of this anime and how it depicted the most primitive human emotion and how people act when their own lives are on the line. The games that bar visitors played were also super interesting and pleasing to look at. And I will just add that I fucking love Nona, she’s mood and aesthetic. 

Mirai Nikki - action, psychological, supernatural, thriller, mystery, shounen

Boy… I feel like you either love or hate this one. Watching this myself I was often put off by the behavior of Yuno Gasai (main female protagonist) - I think she’s the character after which a “yandere” (cute-looking homicidal psycho) trope began. But in the end, I still like her… or that might be just me and yanderes in general. If you can get past her always yelling and moaning “Yukkii”, the anime has a pretty decent plot with enough mystery and thrill. Plot twist? Check. Killing other game participants for the right to become a god? Check. Badass female character? Check. Romance? Weeeeell, it’s there, but it’s so twisted that I can’t bring myself to consider this a romance. My only complaint about the plot is that towards the end it is a little bit too stretched. It could have been shorter and better.

Gosick - mystery, historical, drama, romance

Not a thriller and the most light-hearted of the four, but I really enjoyed the detective feel of this anime. In a sense, it felt like Scooby Doo, cause all the mysteries were uncovered to be non-magical, non-supernatural - kinda advocating that everything could be explained rationally. I guess I did like the main heroine, though most of the time she was a major (tsundere) brat :D the main male character is your typical mr. nice guy who gets involved in some crazy shit - so no points from me there. Though, for me (oddly enough) this anime had a really satisfying ending… like it didn’t feel forced nor too cheesy. So even with weak male character, this romance wasn’t a total disaster (probably because romance wasn’t a huge focus in this anime).

Death Note x

ah, the anime itself is something I really want to sit down and finally watch, but I think I have been put off by the fact that I have already seen the movie (Japanese one, I think?) But all in all, yes, it definitely gets a passing grade from me for its themes and storyline, and I totally understand why it has such a high score.

My favorite character would probably be the apple-eating death god ^^

omg, thank you <3 but do you mind if I laugh at the irony? I mean one corner of my laptop is completely ripped off of its hinges, while the other I keep in place with super glue and a piece of a carton? I don’t know what gods crafted it, but I want my money back, lmao. 

Well, anyway, it’s an old computer and its specifications aren’t the best. I have my eyes set on a new one, but I don’t see having money for it anytime soon T_T  

 My GPU is integrated (Intel HD graphics 500-something?) and other specs that matter are:

I still play sims on high/ultra settings (I think some things I have set to medium or off cause I use reshade) and have a rule not to put more than 4-5GB of CC in my game (at the moment I have ~2.5GB and I need to delete some stuff). I don’t use HQ mod cause it’s too much work for my lazy self ;_;

How long did it take for you to learn how to edit like a goddess? ❤ I need to learn too!

sweetie ;_; I am no expert (goddess who? o.o) by a long shot in editing, but I will always try my best to share some “cheat” or two.. 

As far as the length goes, it’s hard to estimate cause you kinda improve with each and every edit, and there are always mistakes left in my edits that due to my time spent staring at them, I just couldn’t quite understand what might have been wrong (*cough* shadows *cough*). So instead of destination (”I am now editing like a pro”) it’s more like a “process” (I am editing worse today than I will tomorrow).

My biggest cheat is reference pictures, like literally most of my edits are based off some random anime art or manga screenshot. Sometimes it’s just the pose, sometimes the lightning or more than that. In the beginning, my edits were nearly identical to the reference pictures, but at some point, I realized that even if I get an idea from a picture, my own edit just doesn’t end up anything like it anymore? Like my hand and eye got confident that they can make something work without needing a visual aid. Anyway, it was a huge help when it came to lighting and shadow, there’s still tons of room left to improve in that department, but at the very least I can get some basic shadows down without needing to find a similar photo. I also sometimes watch speed drawing, not just other people editing or manipulating photos.
