Happy Pokemon Day!

And what an announcement video this morning! So many cool this coming this year from Game Freak. Pokemon Legends ZA looking good! So excited for the end of the year release on that.

Speaking of which: here is my celebratory artwork for the day honoring ZA’s future release, featuring the Legendary Pokemon Zygarde, in all its forms! And yes that is indeed 95 cells within that border, which, paired with the 5 cores, makes the 100% Battle Zygarde. 10% is my favorite though, because it is the eternal Good Boy.

Countdown to Pokemon Day - 1

Tomorrow is Pokemon Day! These are the full arts from the end of 2024 for GottaDrawEmAll on Deviantart to celebrate Generation 9 with Scarlet and Violet. Gouging Fire (the fluffiest babysitter), Bombirdier (who is about to commit crimes upon the land), and Tatsugiri (who has so many different forms and colors, I had to show them all).

Countdown to Pokemon Day - 2

Only a few days left! Here are the 2021 Pokemon from GottaDrawEmAll, featuring GMax Charizard and GMax Toxtricity, along with poor Cursola. This year was also the year where the group moderator decided to take a break in holding these collabs for a few years, which is why there are so few. But it was ultimately good timing for me, as this was the year I started classes at PNCA.

2020, the year that shall go down in infamy, for many reasons… The GottaDrawEmAll Pokemon Collab on Deviantart was probably one of the few bright spots during that whole year that kept me going. Got to do a lot of legendaries for it, along with a full art for Rillaboom.

Countdown to Pokemon Day - 5.1

2018 was a busy year for me with the GottaDrawEmAll Pokemon Collab that I have to split it into 2 parts! I think Bergmite is my favorites even after of this lot. I remember trying out some different ways to show Ninjask’s and Cutiefly’s wings fluttering fast, though I don’t know how well that actually translated, especially since the transparent png kinda screwed with it, even if it showed up fine on a solid background jpg.

Here’s all the Deviantart GottaDrawEmAll Pokemon Collab artwork from 2017. I did a lot of texture experimenting with this year, but I think the Shiny Haxorus is still one of my favorites even after all this time. Love this shiny form and currently have one on my Pokemon Scarlet team (though he doesn’t have the greatest stats, now that I can finally judge them 😭).

Countdown to Pokemon Day - 7

I said yesterday I was going post up some old Pokemon art I did as a countdown celebration in the lead up to next week. And here it be! These are from 2016, which is when I really started getting into drawing Pokémon regularly and posting online. GDEA on DA was the driving force behind that. And the main reason I continued to draw during parts of my life during the following years.

2025 has been…a Lot already. There’s a lot of stuff going on personally that is piling onto everything else going in the rest of the world. Depression has sunk its claws in deep after the New Year and isn’t letting go easily, so the bad thoughts get overwhelming sometimes, even with the help I have in my life.

I haven’t been able to make any art while stuck in this pit, which sucks, but I needed to vent about this feeling in some way. And doing this did help, like cleaning an area that’s been dirty for weeks because there’s been no time. I am starting to feel better again. May take bludgeoning down some mental walls but I’ll get back into doing more again soon.

Starting with Pokemon Day next week. Gonna repost some of my older Pokemon art everyday going forward for the next week as my own celebration of that. Next year is the big 30 though. I have big plans for that February.

As of this past week, I am officially done with my college schooling! I am graduating with a BFA in Illustration from Portland’s Pacific Northwest College of Art. These past three and a half years have been a genuine joy, if occasionally stressful. I’m so thankful to all of my teachers and advisors.

Just before Thanksgiving, I presented my senior thesis project, the Monsters of Aslamere. More information about it can be found in the link to my website above!

I’ll post the others soon, but it’s apparently Tatsugiri Tuesday, so I’m posting this first. This is the third collab piece I did for Deviantart’s GottaDrawEmAll Gen 9 Collab. And with a Pokemon with so many forms and colors, I absolutely had to include them all! Also including a cameo from Dondozo!

Day 12 prompt for Mermay is none other than our favorite blue heeler, Bluey! Asked my niece to help me with the thumbnail idea, and she gave me the family at the beach, playing in the waves. Gave Bingo the spotlight on this one by having her see something in the distance.

Day 8 of Mermay is Kaiju, and so here’s a sea monster hanging out with a group of mers. Started this at 9:30 this morning on the way to school and worked on it between classes, so I’m really happy to have it done before the day ends.

Mermay has officially begun! Starting off with a leopard seal mer family making some jewelry. Got busy with school and couldn’t finish this in time, but I’m excited to dive in to the rest of the month.

Planetary Moon. Assignment from my advanced illustration class at PNCA. Had a lot of fun with this and so happy with the final result. Night skies are so fun to paint.

Note (in case anyone decides to make a fuss): using Adobe Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature was *required* for the assignment. That castle is the only part it got used for. Everything else was me.
