Process of that Lisa Frank-ish Kagome I did! Was nice to work with a reference for the pose so I could really focus on pushing myself with color palette. Funny how it feels like “oh man this’ll be crazy” but at the end things just need a little tweaking to work.
Old dtiys for @auwkaktusek (thanks again for blocking me, Instagram)
I rarely capture the process of drawing because it's a big distraction for me from the sheer chaos. I have to think about what the process will look, not the result, and the fact that people are going to see me redraw the damn eye seven times. But on the other hand, people should see someone redraw the damn eye seven times, so that they can do the same thing with a clear conscience and absolute self confidence. Redrawing the damn eye seven times is normal ✨👌
Goes without saying but Puss In Boots The Last Wish is a masterpiece. Haven't been this in love/impressed by an animated movie since into the spiderverse and the mitchells vs. the machines 🥰
Enjoy the process video as well!:
for @capriston3's comment on this post - here ya go! tumblr wouldn't let me add a video in a reblog so i had to make a new post for this unfortunately.
i'm still figuring out my preferred process; sometimes i integrate the sketch more into the final piece, sometimes i paint over it completely as i did here. dunno why i started adding colours on the plain white background, i usually pick a uniform coloured background before that, to influence my colour choices/make them more cohesive.
A mini watercolor of Karlach!! 🥰 (It's her datamined face btw hehe) I'm not really into timelapses but I was testing the camera on my phone and it was SUCH a pain in the ass working with these files so you WILL look at all of the footage... lol.
This is a sample of a new commission size I'll be offering. I think there will be ATC size (2.5 x 3.5 inches), the size above (kind of like an "extended" ATC, roughly ~3 x 4 inches), and then something between these and my standard commission size, so maybe... 4 x 6?
