summary: you and chris just had your baby boy, max, 8 months ago, and, although it can get hectic, its so full of love.

8 months. that's how long its been, 8 whole months, since you and chris and your beautiful baby boy, max.

you two had found out you were pregnant at 21, and, you both panicked, it wasn't supposed to happen, but, the aftermath, was honestly the best thing you two could've ever asked for.

right now, you had just gotten up to go to max's nursery, since he just woke up, but you got up so carefully and quietly, so you could let chris sleep. you quietly opened the door to the nursery, and, saw your little boy holding onto his crib railing, standing up. you smiled and walked over to him, "good morning, handsome." you said, picking up max, then walking back to your bedroom.

chris was deep asleep, since he insisted on getting up every time max cried. but, he slowly stirred awake, when he heard max giggling, and, you blowing raspberries into his belly, your laughs mixing with his, creating a melody chris could listen to forever. he lifted his head, and, smiled at you two. "what are we doing right now?' he asked with a chuckle, his voice a little raspy from sleep, you looked over at chris, and, gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. "mmm, we were waiting for you to wake up." you replied, setting max between you and chris.

you, chris, and, max, stayed in bed for a long time, because even though you guys didn't have peaceful mornings, or days in general, you two wouldn't trade this for the world, its not what you guys planned, but it was amazing, and, the early mornings, were always the best.

chris, was never big on commitment or relationships at all. he always said he'd never want a girlfriend because he has trust issues and has had people hurt him in the past. he didn't even believe in soulmates.

that was until he met you.

god, you... you were something else. you were friends with nick first, then he introduced you to his brothers. and when chris saw you, his heart literally skipped 2 beats.

you were so sweet, that if anyone simply walked past you, they would get a toothache. you had this infectious smile and laugh, that made chris fall for you hard. and you laughed at all of chris's stupid jokes, that nick and matt would usually grumble and complain at.

you were like an angel.

so, obviously, the more you hung out with the triplets, the more chris fell for you... and you fell for him too. and anybody with fucking eyes could see the tension and yearning you two had for each other. matt, was always teasing chris about you, while nick literally begged you to date him. but, you two denied your feelings. for months.

till, chris finally grew a pair, and asked you out. he said he wanted to hang out, which you gladly accepted.

chris always thinks about that chilly october afternoon.

you two had agreed to meet at a park. you were sitting on a bench, just talking, laughing, things that friends do. till, chris's laughs and jokes subsided and he looked more serious. "um...y/n, i have something to ask you." chris hesitated to say, looking concerningly serious, which was completely out of character for him. "of course, what's up?" you questioned, your voice having a hint of worry in it.

"listen, this is really fucking hard for me to say. but... i, uh, i like you... a lot." chris managed to stutter out, clearly nervous, till he saw your gorgeous smile. "really?" you asked, wanting to make sure chris wasn't fucking around. till you saw him nod, with a small smile.

"i like you, too, chris." you giggled, moving closer to chris, watching his face break out into a wide, goofy grin. chris just looked into your eyes for a moment, with the softest most affectionate look in his eyes. before he gently cupped your face, like you were porcelain. and leaned in to press the softest kiss to your lips, he was so careful with you, it was adorable. you giggled against his lips, before kissing him back with the same amount of gentleness he had. then, when he pulled away, he looked like he was on cloud nine.

but that was the day chris realized, he'd fallen in love, and it was an all consuming love. the one you heard about in those cheesy rom-com movies. the one people read about and yearned for.

chris found his soulmate.

you and chris have been friends with benefits for a long amount of time, it just seems that when you or Chris sleep with a new person you still come back to each other.

well, you have been feeling more...strongly for chris, and, it wasn't some lame middle school crush that was gonna pass over, no, this was literally consuming your life. if you were alone? chris was on your mind. hanging out with friends? constantly checking your phone for a message from him. at a party? looking around the room for chris.

today, you went over to the frat house and greeted some of the other guys before heading up to chris's room. the smell weed crept out of his door as you walked in. he looked up at you with hazy, red eyes, "oh- hey, doll face." he greeted you as you sat down next to him on his bed, "hey, um... i wanna ask you something- which is probably stupid 'cause i know you'll agree, but, uh- do you wanna like... be my boyfriend? like, all official and shit?" you asked him, with an optimistic approach thinking the obvious answer was yes. i mean, you were basically a couple, so, what difference does it make if you have a label or not?

well, apparently a whole bunch to chris.

his face dropped a little as he sobered up reaaal quick. "uh... look- y/n, you're a a great girl, amazing, perfect but, uhh, i don't do relationships. i already told you this already."

you felt your gut sink a little bit as chris spoke. yeah, you did remember that he said that he didn't so relationships before, but, you thought that would be different story with you. i mean, you were different than other girls, right? or was that all in your head?

chris seemed to notice the sudden change in your expression which caused his demeanor to soften a little bit, his cold expression becoming slightly sympathetic. he ran his fingers through his hair, sighing, "listen, baby, i like you a lot, but, i made a promise to myself a long time ago to never be in a relationship. i just don't get attached to people, y'know? I like being able to meet new people and whatever the hell i want. not having to worry about someone getting attached or jealous or whatever, it just- isn't my thing."

you nodded slowly, like, you were trying to process it all, but then you spoke up: "no, no, i understand." you looked into chris's blue eyes, biting your bottom lip, but, once you said that you 'understood', it seemed to have relaxed chris, as if everything was okay, when it wasn't.

"cool. so we're good?" he patted your shoulder like you were a friend, as if you weren't in his bed two days ago. but you nodded, forced a smile onto your face, acting like everything was fine. "yea, we're good. i think i'm just gonna go back to my dorm." you stood up, and chris didn't even stop you or tell you to stay, he just said a simple 'bye' as you walked away.

your heart was breaking with every step you took. you really were just another girl.
