Chapter 2: Why aren't they eating me?

“T-they…now know I’m human.” Iruma mentally screams to himself. Iruma waited but nothing happen. “They might still be in shock for seeing such a rare delicacy, it’s a matter of time before they eat me.” Iruma thinks to himself, trying to find reasons why his teachers weren’t attacking him. Iruma was so lost in his thoughts, that he didn’t even notice when another demon enter the room.

“Balam! Why are 2 of my students whining to me that you abducted,-” A familiar grumpy voice cut himself off when he saw the scene. Robin had Iruma’s shirt pulled up which reveal the awful condition of the boy’s back. Scars litter the boy’s body, old and new ones alike. Some were bite marks, some were craw marks, and some were varied in size and color. But the scar that haunted and angered the teachers the most was the longest jaggy-looking line that was located right in the middle of Iruma’s small back. Where his wings or at least wing roots were supposed to be, there was a large dark pink scar edge to his body that looked to be years old.

Being the torture art teacher in Babyls, Marbas can identify and have a better idea of what Iruma's upbringing was like. The methods of torture that were performed on the boy are awful even by Marbas’s standards, someone who performs torture as a full-time career. Marbas’s torture methods are for education purposes only, but it’s obvious that Iruma had experienced the most painful and illegal form of torture known to demon kind. Someone had Grounded him, meaning that a demon’s wings will never grow back. This is too much, how could anyone do this to a child, not just any child but the most considerate, innocent, sweetest, and selfless child that they had the pleasure of teaching. Children are considered treasures in the Netherworld, to think someone harming one to this extent is completely unforgivable.

All of the teachers who were currently present only had one thought race through their minds. “What kind of evil monster could have done this? Who had Grounded this child!” All of the teachers mentally scream in their heads. Iruma manage to calm down his breathing, realizing that his teachers weren’t going to eat him, for now. “I could of kill him, I almost murdered one of my own students ” Kalego mumbled to himself, remembering what he did to Iruma during the Flying exam. How could he, a teacher of Babyls, could be so wreckless?

Iruma finally escape Balam’s grip before putting on his uniform jacket that Robin subconsciously dropped onto the floor. Iruma then walked by his homeroom teacher. “Hi Kalego-sensei, nice seeing you here.” Iruma greeted the purple-haired demon nervously. Which got all of the teachers snapped out of their stung daze. Iruma then looked at his empty wrist in an exaggerated motion.

“Look at the time, I’m going to be late for Alice, Clara, and my study session,” Iruma said with his head lowered down as he try to make his way to the exit. Kalego and the other teachers couldn’t let the boy leave their custody until he at least had answered all of their questions. “Iruma, come here,” Kalego commanded softly in order not to frighten the boy.

But for the first time that all of his teachers had ever witnessed, Iruma didn’t obey, he only fasten his pace slightly. Kalego quickly walked and reach his hand out for Iruma’s shoulder in order to stop the small boy from taking another step. Unfortunately, that was the worst way to stop the boy because when Iruma’s father grabbed his son by the shoulder, that meant Iruma is going to get his usual beating. “I’m sorry, don’t hurt me, I’ll be good, I’ll be good, I’ll be good. Just don't hurt me, Dad.” Suppress memories of his father’s beating started to flood back to Iruma, forgetting that all of his teachers were there to witness his breakdown.

“Kalego let go of him, he’s having a PTSD episode,” Buer stated as he and the other teacher surrounded him, thinking that their presence could calm the boy by letting him know that he wasn’t alone. If only they knew the real reason that Iruma was in such a distressed state. They were surrounding him as a pack of wolfs. Since Iruma had spent most of his young life in the woods, he knows what it’s like to be surrounded like prey. “Oh my god, they really are going to eat me.” Those were the only thoughts that were running through Iruma’s head as his breaths become harder and faster. Iruma then clenches his chest in pain as he falls onto the floor. “Calm down Iruma,” Kalego said before kneeling down to his student’s eye level. “He’s hyperventilating. Balam, please take Iruma to the nurse's office quickly,” Buer ordered before Balam gently picked up the hyperventilating boy. “Should I contact the chair demon?” Robin asked, already preparing his phone to make the call. “Grandpa,” those were Iruma’s last words he could mumble before going unconscious.

“No, we don’t know who cause all of Iruma’s pain, for all we know it can be that crazy old coop or his insane cat servant. Until we know Iruma's so-called guardians are safe, no one is telling them what just transpired.” Kalego declare as he and the other teachers made their way to the nurse’s office.

Where are Your Wings Iruma-Kun?

Summary-

What if Ali didn’t think quickly enough to create Iruma a fake pair of wings?  What if Iruma actually got scars from his past hardships and trauma? What would the teachers of Babyls do when one of their beloved students tried to escape from their questions about his past? And to be honest, they really don’t know how to deal with a kid who has been through the most illegal form of torture in the entire Netherworld.

                  Chapter 1: Meeting Professor Balam for the First Time

“It’s most likely that Imaginary Creatures live in a peaceful environment. However, the Netherworld’s ecosystem is unforgiving.” Professor Balam stated after finishing his drawings on the chalkboard.

He then walked over to where Iruma was being held down by vines while talking to the class.

“ That's how we demons developed our wings.  In the race for survival, wings are essential tools.  Even without horns, you can escape safely as long you have…huh?!  ” There was a short pause when Balam try to search for Iruma’s wings. 

No matter how much Balam touches and felt around the young boy’s back, Balam couldn’t find any traces that Iruma had what pretty much all demons had.  The professor being shocked was an understatement, he was completely mortified at the chance that one of his students doesn’t possess any wings.

Balam can't or will not believe that a demon as young as Iruma had gone through the worst type of pain known to demon-kind.   Without wasting another second, Balam picked up Iruma and run in the direction where the teacher's lounge was located.

“Master Iruma!” Alice called his master's name as he and Clara watched the white-haired teacher carry Iruma like a sack of potatoes.

When Balam loudly slammed open the door it got the attention of all of the teachers who were currently occupying the room.  Buer Blushenko, Morax Momonoki, Marbas March, Orias Oswell, and Bars Robin then turn their focus onto the 2 new incomers.

“Pardon me! Someone!!” Balam shouted when entered the teacher's lounge.

“What’s the matter, Professor Balam?” Robin asked worriedly, not used to seeing the giant teacher in such a panicked state.

“It’s an emergency!  This boy doesn’t have any wings.” Balam then pointed to the sweating boy.  Everyone only raised an eyebrow at Balam's statement, knowing that he can sometimes jump to conclusions.  Buer only scoffs at Balam’s statement, pretty much all demons in the Netherworld have wings, it’s even more ridiculous for Balam to think someone young as Iruma has none. Buer then made eye contact with the blond Astrology teacher. Orias Oswell was thinking the exact same thing as his coworker. 

It’s common knowledge in the Netherworld that the few demons who are wingless are usually strong full grown demons who can defend themselves.  Not children who are learning the basics of magic.  It’s simply impossible or a miracle for Iruma to last this long in the Netherworld without any wings.

 “Of course he has wings,” Robin stated in his usually cheerful tone.

“He might just tuck his wings into his body.” Momonoki tries reasoning with her coworker.

“Or maybe they're just really tiny,” Orias suggested nonchalantly.

 “He doesn’t have wing roots,” Balam exclaimed, which made all of the teachers a little more suspicious of the boy. To ease everyone's nerves and his own, Robin decided he would be the one to check if Iruma really didn’t have any wings. 

No matter how much he twist and turn his way out of the giant teacher’s grip, Balam was just too strong for the human boy to even stand a chance of escaping.

     So many emotions and thoughts were running through Iruma’s mind, realizing this may be the end of the road for him.

“Nooooo, If I knew I was going to be eaten today, I would tell just how much I appreciate Grandpa and Opera for giving me a great life.  And what would Alice and Clara do once they found out that their own teachers had eaten their friend?” Time moves slower for Iruma as he remembers all of the memories he made with his best friends. 

“I never even get to tell them how much they mean to me, I never got to tell them that I’m actually human. 

 Alice, Clara, I’m sorry that I couldn’t keep my secret for just a little bit longer.” Iruma mentally apologized to everyone who had loved and cared for him as he accepted his faith.

Iruma only closes his eyes, hoping that his teachers will devour him quickly enough so he won’t feel anything.  After  5 seconds went by, Iruma wonder why he wasn’t in the demons’s stomach already. When he looked at his teachers for the first time after they saw his back, he didn't see hunger or any type of blood thirst in their eyes    

No one had their claws out,  no bite marks, no pain, just empty tense silence.

A hand-covered Momonoki’s mouth, trying her best to hold back a gasp.  Robin’s knees gave out as his body shake in horror. 

“His wings?!” Buer whispered under his breath.

“Those scars,” Marbas commented only to himself.

If only the clueless blue-haired boy knew that in the Netherworld, if a demon doesn’t have wings that doesn’t automatically mean that they are human.  For all his teachers know, Iruma is a young demon boy who has been through the most horrendous and traumatic experience that even most seasoned demons couldn’t handle.

I drew this for a fanfic I have been reading called “For Sake of a Smile”

Summary: Iruma has a human adopted mother who sold herself to Sullivan, after finding out what Iruma’s shitty parents have done.  After arriving in the demon world, she soon found out that Iruma wasn’t suffering, but instead living the good life.  Knowing that Iruma was safe and sound, she willingly became Sullivan’s adopted daughter.  She later became the librarian of Babyls’s and had gotten very, very close to a white-haired demon who teaches mythical creatures.

I worked and talked to the author, and I drew a picture of the main character in their fanfic.

History

Millieanne use to be classmates and best friends with Kalego and Balam.  She meets the duo by planning a secret ambush attack against  Kalego. By using the element of surprise, it was easy for  Millieanne to restrain Kalego with Chain magic and use her bloodline magic to remove his magical abilities. The reason why Millieanne attacked Kalego was that a gang of 5 boys tricked her into believing that Kalego take secret pictures of girls in the locker room.

But they are just using the clueless girl in order to beat up Kalego while he is in a weakened state.

  At the time,  Millieanne didn’t know that Kalego was innocent, so Balam stepped in and completely shatter Millieanne ’s arm.  Before a fight between Balam and  Millieanne could break out, multiple arousing pictures of female students which included Millieanne , fell out of one of Kalego’s attacker’s pockets.  Knowing who the true guilty party was,  Millieanne teamed up with Balam and Kalego in order to give the gang of liars and perverts true hell.   In the end, both Balam and Kalego became friends with  Millieanne when she asked them to sign her cast.  Within the first month of school, the 3 of them became best friends,

Balam grew a massive crush on Millieanne , having a lot of common interests in animals and humans.   Balam was going to confess his feelings to Millieanne   on graduation day but chickened out at the last minute.

After Kalego, Balam, and Millieanne from Bablys, Millieanne becomes a well-known explorer in the Netherworld.  When she was given the opportunity to become a teacher at her old school,  Millieanne retired from the life of an explorer and joined the teaching staff of Babyls Demon School a year before Iruma enrolls.   After Balam became friends with Iruma, that gave him the courage to finally confess his long terms feelings for Millieanne.  Now they are happily married and had started a family together. 

FyI- I got lots of pictures of my oc and Balam being cute together, I’ll post them in the future
