#MarchMeetTheMaker ✂️ •Community• Norwich and Norfolk have a fantastic creative community. I used to run my own gallery so I had the benefit of meeting and working with some amazing artists. One of the best things about my job is getting out of the studio and meeting up with other makers and enthusiasts. Doing craft fairs is a great way to speak to other makers, share stories and advice or just have a good moan! #MarchMeetTheMaker ✂️ •Organised• I feel like I’m organised but people around me might disagree. I do have my own systems though, most of it is done with pen and paper. I make lots of lists and then turn them into smaller lists. I didn’t train as a screenprinter so most of my methods have been developed through trial and error. The first is @soodle_street, she produces beautiful paper collages of architecture from recycled magazines, Flyers and newspapers. The images she produces are incredible and she can even make one of your house! The second is @jessicaalicecraft, who produces absolutely beautiful hand-painted Russian dolls with wildlife imagery. She can produce stunning sets that are tailored to your own taste or favourite animal. Finally @ellie_vallerini_hats is an incredible milliner who has previously worked for the late @johnboydhats. So a lot of my favourite books are heavily visual. This book is called ‘In Flagrante Collecto’ and is about different collections. I have tried audiobooks and podcasts but it’s hard to concentrate when you’re printing. #MarchMeetTheMaker ✂️ •Achievements• My biggest achievement came last year when the brilliant @alexhreece wrote an amazing feature on my work in @countrylivinguk 🌿 I received so many emails from people who’d seen it and liked my products, it was great to have some recognition after years of hard work. It sounds a bit silly but I still get a little thrill every time someone buys something I’ve made, i still appreciate every sale.
