Art and life reflect each other and are intricately linked. And they both implicate choices... . At first you might not be in control of much... You don’t understand how things work yet, or why they happen the way they do. You might feel like you’ll never be able to make anything, or you might blame things out of your control. But it won’t help you learn. You only have power over YOUR choices. Over what you have and what you do, right now. The more you learn, the more you realize, there’s a lot more in your control that you might realize.... in art, as in life. There’s always a part that you cannot control but you can always make something out of it, Learn from it. As long as you are breathing (N.B. : Don’t forget to breath !) Mistakes are part of the process . . Life is rich, messy, incredibly beautiful and complex. And full of opportunities ! But it takes work and energy. And trust. In yourself mostly but also in others sometimes... Every choice you make as an impact, sometimes bigger than you might realize. The good and the bad. . But life is also incredibly hard, heart wrenching... Ant It might feel at times incredibly lonely. You feel like you will never be able to overcome it and do something again... That you’ll never be able to learn anything from it, or make anything out of it. But you can, and you do... Because you have choices ! They might be hard, they might be blurry, but they exist. Always. Every second, as long as you breathe... . You choose how you spend your time, who you spend it with, what you focus on, how you use your strength... You choose to love, to hate, to fight, to be indifferent or to let go. You choose to focus on other people flaws or you choose to focus on yourself (because that’s what you can control). You choose to stay a victim of circumstances or you choose to free yourself from them and to stand up and carve your own way out. Choose another path. . I’d like my art to reflect all of that. I need it to be meaningful ! I need to paint, take pictures, sing, write... It’s my way of making sense of it all. I just don’t know if I’m there yet...
