LFW AW18/19, Designer Showrooms, styles linked together by Moi and a general rant!

As usual I am posting these pics several months after the event. Reasons: life, busy schedule, other priorities, being silly and waiting to edit all the pics rather than posting them in stages, bla. bla, bla... Oh, and most imporantly it is about 3am here, I am slightly tired but not sleepy, hence why unable to do any physical garment making, which I am preoccupied with recently. Plus next LFW is in couple of weeks and I want to get rid of the backlog of picas to post. Total procrastinator, ha... I am doing much better though :P I did search: Is tumblr dead 2018', before I posted these. Not that I care but I am sipmy curious. I have not written anything longer than a tonne of hashtags on insta recently and this is a great opportunity to practice, even if it is just a random rant. Ok, now to the fashion week.

I banged these together as I decided that if I owned these items today I would wear them together. Hmm.. maybe they will arrive in the next post. Tomorrow I would probably wear these differently. It would be cool to grab a banch of clothes and style them differently every day - same clothes. Maybe that should be my next project.

Back to the story...I walked through designer showrooms with my mates, having a few, super tasty, free drinks, talking to industry people, looking at funky new clothes and photographing only things that i love. I do it for my entertainment and my pleasure. I adore vibrant colours but I also enjoy a more muted palette if the garment' shape or textile structure/texture is interesting.

'Cosmic Girl' AW18 by designer Laurie Lee at Designer Showrooms, LFW. Laurie loves 70s vibe and wants the 70s rock chick style to take over the streets! Laurie is super fun and friendly to chat to and a riot of laughs. I have learnt a thing or two about reatil and costing of clothes. Her clothes are sold at Selfridges and via her own website. Check them out peeps!

The Sustainable Angle at DesignerShowrooms, LFW AW18. Intersting new materials. Garments from Pinatex, leather like material, created from reprocessed pineapple husks. Biogedradable sequins, still in development.

The Vin+Omi times! We met Omi from Vin + Omi and Florence Hughes Finney at the brand's stand. I fell in love with the powder pink, super lightweight, knitted dress. I got totally drawn to it. This also prompted our conversation with super freindly Florence and Omi. We chatted with them daily when visiting designer showrooms at London Fashion Week. The pink dress is made from recycled plastic bottles and the yarns is air dyed. The latex dress worn by Florence is sustainable. We got enchanted by their work, types of materials and the brand's story relayed to us by Omi. Coming back to the stand daily, we got to learn more and more about their work, inspirations, enthusiasm and the drive to keep making fashion.

P.S. Omi drinks tea in nightclubs :P
