Strangerville was made with the sole (and explicit) purpose of making cash off the hype surrounding a TV show (which I won't name because I don't like it and I do not want to get sent anthrax powder by the fanbase). The Strangetown premades were re-created for it because EA figured they'd get $$$ from that nostalgia bait. The original intent was not to make it a TS4 version of Strangetown and I will die on that hill; the Strangetown premades were an afterthought, which is why they're... odd, to say the least, kind of like someone tried to re-create them from memory, and why they're glitchy as can be (Pascal's baby doesn't have a second parent, Maxis UBB type beat).

We're FINNALY back with the final version of the Strangeview - new playable neighborhood based on @budgieflitter crazy idea to mix Pleasantview and Strangeview into one.

UPDATE 1 (11.02.25 3p.m. CET): -fixed family ties so PT7 is NOT a sibling of Nestor Caliente (lmao) -added family flag for Alexander and Cassandra so they're recognized FULLY a family if You don't want to redownload whole hood, just "set (them) as siblings" in InSim, and it could be fine -Fixed description of neighborhood in both versions -Added missing neighborhood storytelling in "missingBella" version UPDATE 2 (11.02.25 9p.m. CET): Huge thanks to @grottydotty for checking out the neighborhood and letting us know about some oversights. We fixed a lot of "aesthetic" oversights, mostly in sims memories.

The neighborhood comes in two versions:

V1 With Bella as a townie as in Clean Pleasantview

V2 With missing Bella as in OG Pleasantview (based on April Black video, debunking how it's actually done, that Bella is missing)

The neighborhood is for UC or LC; it is a maxis match neighborhood, except 4 recommended mods/CC below.

The townies and sims have slightly updated looks to match the Strangetown vibe.

Almost every lot was build by @peanuttysims and I think he did an AMAZING job. He've got such a talent!!!

Every house is a combination of both family houses of OG sims.

The Neighborhood comes with a few new lots, every one of them is done in Strangetown vibe. There is crappy "Gas Station"; Trailer Park as a apartment lot; Club/Restaurant in the old factory; a Strangeview Cemetery with a few graves of the deceased; a Pleasantview park made into Strangetown climate.

Welcome to Pleasantown !

People move to Pleasantown hoping to find peace and tranquility... and not knowing about the nice mess they just got themselves into. Rivalries, tension and strange events are a common sight in this town... is it true that aliens live among us? Did people really go missing? Can anything be done to get the neighborhood feeling good again, or will the drama drive all the inhabitants away?

This was inspired by a post by @budgieflitter and I thought the idea was super cool. I added some townies, gave the lots a refresh, and here we are. Our favorite Sims from Strangetown, in an alternate timeline where they live in the Pleasantview setting and their lives took an entirely different direction. The only big difference between Budgie's Pleasantown and mine is that Ajay is deceased in this hood ; I tried to make the rest as faithful to their post as possible.

 INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS : • For the main hood, copy the PLST folder to your [Your Name] / Documents / EA GAMES / The Sims 2 / Neighborhoods folder. • For the subhood, copy the SPST folder to your C: / Program Files (x86) / EA GAMES / The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection / Best of Business / EP3 / TSData / Res / NeighborhoodTemplate folder. You will have to add it to your primary neighborhood as a business district.

The hood has seven playable families, all the townies from Maxis Strangetown and the NPCs from the DS game. I rebuilt the Pink Flamingo with some pics I found as a reference, and it is owned by none other than Hoot Howell ! Yup, he's there.

The hood also comes with a French version, for those whose game is in that language (j'ai pensé à vous les mecs, j'ai même fait l'effort de faire des jeux de mots pourris avec les noms des ex-maris d'Olivia Chimère, ce que la VF originale n'avait pas fait).

Nah, apparently the cutscene starts and just abruptly ends without the UFO fully showing up. Someone in the LazyDuchess server tried to get Vidcund abducted and he just went in the kitchen to cook spaghetti after the cutscene failed to load.

Day 2 of the sims legacy:

I've added the Ikea stuff pack and missing music in. The devil works fast but simmers work faster. Thankyou to all of the dedicated modders already tackling this shit.

I've added back about 15GB of CC (which is tame for me - someone please stop me lmao). Loading was still lightening fast. I'm going through my hairs catalogue in CAS now (absolutely ginormous selection) and there's no stuttering, lag or pink flashing. On the ultimate collection I couldn't get to the end without manually freeing up my standby memory.

Speaking of which that process is still running automatically in the background every 5 minutes or so which does help with game performance in general for me.

I believe alien abduction is broken? They need to fix that ASAP, Pascal and Nervous get 85% of my playtime.

why are people saying that they're finally able to play ts1 and ts2 again soon? the installers exist, you'll be spending money on stuff that you can have for free with community fixes.

Welcome to Wolfsbane Academy !

Wolfsbane Academy is quite the spooky place, but it has a very good reputation for being accepting of any students, including the non-human ones... and mostly the non-human ones ! Here, normal Sims are a very rare sight. Rumors have it, ghosts are roaming some of the campus buildings. Do you feel like you will survive here ?

This is a small university, which I created with Greenwood in mind, but I think you could make it work in a Strangetown or Middle of Knowhere save. Or if you feel particularly daring, you could send teens from any 'hood there and see how they survive when surrounded by occults.

The playable families are : • Unhinged Undead : Undead Greek House. Two vampires, two zombies, three girls and a guy.

• Alpha Omega Beta : Werewolf Greek House. Two girls, two guys.

• Students of Space : Alien Greek House. Two girls, two guys. Three of them are half-alien; the new guy is an actual alien.

• Magic Motley Crew : Four witches living in a dorm with a zombie dormie. Two girls, two guys.

• Sandman : A witch living all by herself in a rental house.

The community lots include a swimming pool, a club, a coffee shop, a lounge, a small shopping center, a park, a library, a pub and a student union building.

Just some reminders for my sweet swimming friends in the TS2 community:

1. Modern EA are the most talented disappointers I have ever come across. Expect little, be pleasantly surprised if there's a higher quality than that. I have been consistently let down by EA for the last 10 years and I doubt that's going to change any time soon. Hype is RARELY (dare I say never?) met 🤣

2. "Re-Release" is not the same as "Re-Master". "Optimised for Win10/11" may just mean we don't need to let Graphics Rules Maker update the GraphicsCards.sgr file with modern GPUs, maybe GRM won't have to unlock higher screen resolution, and maybe the Sim shadows won't be black boxes without DXVK or a mod. Woo 🎉

3. Let's all agree to either ignore the "Big UTuberz" playing TS2 very badly (i.e. no idea what a cheat code is) for "the nostalgia" and then promptly dropping it again, or go comment on the videos to point out the sheer stoopid 🤦🏼‍♀️

4. Sims 2 has been available to play for the last 20 years regardless of EA, and if they put it behind a paywall, it will no doubt still be available to play. (Same with TS1 for that matter) 🥸

5. Best case scenario in my head? If I "DARE to dream"? - Maybe we won't all need to continue switching to Linux to get rid of Pink Flashing. Lol. But I doubt it. 🙈

It is nice to see that Sims 1 and Sims 2 are actually being recognised for the 25th anniversary of this franchise. Better than the usual tactic of trying to pretend the games never existed. But let's all keep our heads screwed on straight here.
