So the new True Detective season is...good?

It has:

the return of the supernatural, thank god

the return of the humour, thank god

mysterious, dyatlov pass type disappearances, animals doing weird shit

Jodie Foster and Kali Reis facing off and Reis absolutely holding her own against Jodie fucking Foster

a plotline about missing and murdered Indigenous women that so far doesn't feel gross or exploitative

female mains that actually act like women and not men but then they switched the gender

environmental concerns

a ton of mixed race families, which is so common for towns like this but I think a lot of people from cities don't know that?

If you liked the first season of True Detective you should watch it, but I'd also recommend it to those who like arctic horror like The Terror or The Thing
