Don’t worry- I do intend on one day returning to Magsev!

That, however, will not be anytime soon…as I’m working on other projects right now, namely writing an entire Hunger Games from the ground up! (If you’d like to see that, it’s on A03 under Arpeggi - The First Quarter Quell)

I just have stagnated on Magsev due to shifting motivations and interests- it happens to everybody! But trust and believe I’ll pick it up again one day when the whim consumes me and I’ll get s2 finished….one day…

Are rosie and Elias severed? I haven't watched severance so I don't know what characters they're meant to be. haven't read all of the fic yet either, and if it was said I missed it. Thank you if you respond :)

So, this raises a really interesting point I need to make, as only you've explicitly come to ASK me this question- but the long and short of it is that while there are characters that function as stand-ins for Severance characters, they aren't and 99% of the time wont function exclusively in the role they're 'supposed' to be in. Nobody in Magsev is 'supposed' to be anyone in Severance. For example, Martin has a wakeup scene simmilar to Helly R, but does not share her temprament, and Melanie makes up for that. Rosie fills a simmilar administrative role to Mr. Milchick, but Oliver also stewards some of Milchick's energy, so to speak, and thus doesn't concretely embody the character of Miss Casey, so on and so forth. You shouldn't read with the expectation of 1:1 series-to-fic adaptation, because i'm about to pull some EVIL shit from under your noses in the future just you wait.... As for the first part of your question? See the above (runs away cackling and giggling and cycling on my clown bike)

I haven't watched severance but I really want to read this au because I think it sounds super interesting 😭 could I hypothetically still enjoy this without any context from the show...? (I read the first post you made introducing the au, and it seems like I could, but I'd still like clarification/reassurance)

Hey there!! No doodle as I’m about to pass out but

I was asked this a handful of times during both former Q&A’s ran for this fanproject and the answer is a definite yes!

Things to consider, though:

- The plot to this fanproject includes spoilers that mirror plot points from Severance that, were you to watch Severance afterward, you’d get more of an inkling to the shows plot twists and reveals because of what I choose to include in this fanproject, thus potentially spoiling your future viewing experience just a little (or at least tainting it with the flashbang of ‘this happened in a fic I read wooaaghh’)

- Some plot conventions from severance, while I try to explain them naturally as best I can, tend to be a bit confusing sometimes! However; leaving comments can push you in the right direction because I like to explain further about the nitpicks of Severance terminology/processes when and if I can! (Sometimes I have to leave everyone in the dark for spoiler purposes…..necessarily evil I fear!)

However, if that doesn’t phase you, please feel free to jump in!!!

TLDR: Magsev is all about me putting the plot and characters of The Magnus Archives into the Severance worldbuilding, so you really only need to have listened to TMA (and maybe TMAGP if you want to be more familiar with the way this is being written (plot progression through observation etc))to enjoy it!

This marks the midseason finale of Magsev s2!! I'll be writing out a longer post about this hiatus sometime soon, but just know that I planned it this way, and this indefinite hiatus is to ensure i can now lean back and take a break from some insane burnout with this project, and so that i can come back from vacation hopefully in the right mindset to finish writing the season and get back to producing the artwork for it!

Saw the severance cast in person today 🥹 such a beautiful experience I love this show with all my heart and Adam Scott specifically I’ve been hyperfixating on media he’s been a main character in way before severance so . Yeah….color me misty eyed….
