Also I haven't realized it at first, but I haven't even said that Jet was worse than Zuko 😂 I just said that the two are not comparable (fun fact, another reason this post came to be Was because of a post that said that Zuko got the redemption arc that Jet deserved, like wut)
Now, why are we not counting the episodes where the combustion man was attacking the Gaang? (whopping 3 episodes, albeit in the third Zuko saved them). As far as I remember, Zuko directly hired him, and everyone knows it... All I'm saying is that Zuko's arc is good BECAUSE he was bad and evil little shit, not in spite of it. So, sure, he is no Zhao or Ozai or even Azula, I'll give you that (mind you, she was a direct antagonist to the gaang in just about the same amount of episodes). But he absolutely was The Bad Guy for a long time.
Also? Thinking Jet is somehow worse than Zuko in the big 2025?
I mentioned Combustion Man, with a little bit of humor because life would be dull without (even the Gaang laughs about Zuko chasing them by now and joke about it). But sure lets count these two Episodes too (not the third because Zuko saves them as you said). Would still only be 11/61.
If I wanted to excuse Zukos actions I would have explained in great detail why everything is Ozai's fault and Zuko had every right to Chase the Gaang. It wasn't and he didn't.
I saw many people saying that Zuko either only changed in S3 or how he spend ALL the Show doing bad things so I asked myself: "How many times was it actually ?" And as it turned out: Not a lot. Wether or not you see Zuko as a villain, antagonist or even anti hero br is up to your interpretation of a villain.
To me: A villain is not necessarily irredeemable evil but they are willing to reach their goal with all means necessary, not caring who or what gets in the crossfire. To me Zuko showed that there was certain things he put over the Avatar, we saw it twice in Book 1 when he was at his worst.
So Zuko didn't suddenly "turn good".
Also call it a controversial take but Jet was ready to kill a whole village to wipe out his enemies. Granted he only appeared in 1 Episode where he got the role of a villain but that was very bad to me.

So, I was wondering in how many Episodes Zuko actually antagonized the Gaang so (because I have no life) I got us all an Overview
1x1: Zuko's introduction and the worst thing he did was stalking them, while he remained on his ship to annoy his uncle
1x2: Classic capturing Aang moment. That's how the best friendships begin
1x3: No antagonzing here. Just kicking Zhao's ass
1x4: The Kyoshi Island fight. Yet another classic
1x5: No Zuko
1x6: Short cameo and kinda bad for taking the necklace, but he just picked it up so I let that slide.
1x7: Decided to save Uncle instead of following the Avatar *pats his bald head* Good boy
1x8: Again Zhao is the bigger asshole but he shot them and grabbed Aang for like 3 seconds.
1x9: Teaming up with pirates to be the perfect villain, oh yeeeah.
1x10: No Zuko here
1x11: No Zuko here
1x12: Here you got everything at once. Zuko being a little bitch (I love him so much), then this 13 year old mf had the balls to speak up against innocents dying and the Agni Kai scene killed me. My boy then let the Avatar escape yet again to ensure the safety of his crew. And that, my friends, is the reason why Zuko was never a villain to me, only an antagonist.
1x13: Zuko being vulnerable and losing hope and then saves Aang. I count that one as good because he could have chased him after but didn't (Yeah I know he was still injured and tired, BUT I LET IT COUNT)
1x14: No Zuko here
1x15: Again classic June team up with her whip.
1x16: No Zuko, Only mentioned.
1x17: Again no Zuko here.
1x18: Ahhh the very first assasination attempt. They grow up so fast.
1x19: Starts wholesome but shit got serious because Zuko has Aang. (And gets the most clichee bad guy line "Who do we have here?" Zuko no you are better than this).
1x20: Here we have both a bad thing and a good thing. Bad thing is ofc holding Aang captive for half the episode and good is trying to save Zhao (who hasn't deserved it a bit but Zuko is better than me IG)
2x1: Nothing to see here. Azula serves as the bad guy and Zuko is doing humanity a favor by cutting off his ponytail.
2x2: Good boys dont steal oastric horses from nice ladies, Zuko. Ts ts ts.
2x3: Azula serves as the worthy antagonist. I guess Zuko gave over his cepter.
2x4: Only one Zuko scene at the beginning. A shame. What ? No, Zuko didn't steal these guys swords, that was the blue spirit. PAY ATTENTION!
2x5: Zuko (steals) brings food on the table for Uncle. What a nice young man.
2x6: No Zuko here
2x7: Okay if I have to explain this one I'm not sure if you should stay here. Love How Avatar wasn't even mentioned.
2x8: Only one line of wanting to capture Aang and then making a fool out of himself against Azula (Zuko, I love you, but that really wasn't your best). And then they worked together. Also, my sweet, I get you have trust issues and all but dont throw fire at people wanting to help your injured uncle
2x9: The only thing he hurt in here was Iroh's nerves.
2x10: No Zuko here
2x11: Zuko and Iroh playing refugee simulator and minding their own buisness.
2x12: Zuko getting dragged into the criminal lifestyle by the bad influence of his new boyfriend -Uncle Iroh
2x13: I see a pattern but again Zuko and Iroh minding their own buisness.
2x14: Zuko and Iroh minding their own buisness but Jet comes in to ruin the fun and spill the tea.
2x15: Who needs honor when you can get a pretty girl.
2x16: Small cameo on the boat and Iroh watching over Zuko. Very wholesome.
2x17: Zuko tried to steal Appa: No bad Zuko, down.
Zuko frees Appa: Good Zuko.
2x18: Zuko is too sick to hunt the Gaang
2x19: Zuko is happy and him and Iroh minding their own buisness. Katara, I love you but why did you have to ruin it 😭
2x20: We... we don't talk about this. Lets just move on
3x1: Love how Zuko isn't even back for 5 minutes and Azula is already mentally torturing him.
3x2: Nice boys also dont sent assassins after his future best friend, Zuko. Ts ts ts.
3x3: No Zuko here
3x4: No Zuko here.
3x5: Zuko and Mai being an all time fighting couple and being assholes to each other but it has nothing to do with the Gang so I let it slide. And wow, Azula manages to have one moment with Zuko that felt honestly wholesome to me. Good Job 👍🏻
3x6: Backstory time. Again, nothing was done to hurt the Gaang so we are good so far.
3x7: No Zuko here
3x8: No Zuko here
3x9: Zuko living the life he deserves as a prince (too bad we have to take it away from him)
3x10: Few Zuko scenes here and there, each of them great.
3x11: Zuko standing up to his father as the GOAT he is
3x12: Zuko joins the Gaang
3x13: Zukaang life changing field trip
3x14: Zukka life changing field trip
3x15: Zukka life changing field trip part 2
3x16: Zutara life changing field trip and Zuko is officially their friend. I love a happy ending.
3x17: Zuko regrets that ponytail more than everything else (and sweet moment with Toph)
3x18: Yup, attacking Aang one last time for good luck but I let it slide.
3x19: If Zuko and Iroh's reunion is not one of your favorite scenes then leave.
3x20: Agni Kai, do I need to say more ?
3x21: All hail firelord Zuko
So, thats it. We only have 9 times where he was actually an evil force to be dealt with by the Gaang out of 61 Episodes. The rest of the times he either wasn't present, minding his own buisness, annoyed his uncle or was a straight up hero even while he was an antagonist.
And thats why to me he is I no way comparable to Zhao, Ozai, Azula, Long Feng or even minor douchebags like Jet.

A lot of things happened while I was away. One of the things is that I posted my very first Avatar ao3 fanfiction.
Hooray
It is still going and I noticed that my writing skills got a lot better since my horrible Harry Potter fanfiction days. I wouldn't win any awards with it, but the story actually makes sense and I even got a little bit of character depths.
It's a Zutara fanfiction, but it isnt the the main focous. Rn Zuko and Katara only just met. It all started when Zuko was a 10-year old and Ozai was being a horrible dad, but whats new. Sooo because I am a huge fan of Lu Ten ( or the the concept behind Zuko and him being very close, thank you NATLA for that wonderful funeral moment) he steps in and saves the day. Now these two, a child and barely an adult, are on the run for their lives.
It has 18 chapters and still get updated. If anyone is interessted, they could check it out.
I plan to write even more fanfiction about Zuko, because there can never be enough of him.

YES ! To all of what you just described. Also, cant believe I forgot to mention but they also seem to have a very distaste of Ursa and that doesn't sit right with me either.
I feel like they hate anyone who shows any compassion towards Zuko and calls Azula out on her bs.
I cant help but notice that quiet a lot of people who dont like Zuko and/or Uncle Iroh happen to be Azula stans. Now I am the last person to put everyone in a Box because that sucks so I want to make clear that I am not putting every Person who like her with these Kind of people.
But it gives me an icky feeling when they somehow make Azula the victim and Zuko the abuser when it was very clearly the other way around (never read the Comic but in my humble opinion there is nothing Zuko could do or say that would even be close to the abuse he suffered from Azula).
Also somehow giving Iroh crap when All he does during the show is protecting Zuko from Azula and only calling her crazy and she needs to go down after she almost kills him
Kinda a rant but I just blocked one of these Zuko hating Azula loving Accounts because due to the Zuko Tag they repeat to show up on my feed and it was nagging at me.
I would love to hear your thoughts on that matter. (Sorry if you already talked about it)
I don't like putting people in boxes either, but the tumblr fandom is infested with Azula stans, and what I've found is that if you scratch almost anyone with a bad take, they will turn out to be an Azula stan. Funnily enough, when people say the fandom is toxic, they don't mention this. But it isn't a surprise that people who are fandom bullies with victim complexes overidentify with a character like Azula and that they dominate the conversation. They even have been known to use sock puppet blogs to make themselves seem like their numbers are larger than they are and that many people agree with their opinions. It's just a shame because she's such a great character, but the discourse around her has been shaped by these people.
When Azula stans say that Zuko or Iroh are really the abuser, they're engaging in classic DARVO behavior: deny, attack, reverse victim and offender. It's a common abuser tactic to make the victim think that they are actually the abuser or that they have some kind of mutual abuse dynamic. I've read The Search, where most of those accusations against Zuko come from, and as badly written as that comic is, it pretty accurately depicts this kind of abusive relationship. Azula accuses Zuko of mistreating her because she no longer has complete power over him like she did before. Ozai also does the same thing to Zuko in The Promise. And the kicker is that even from her diminished position, Azula still has psychological power over Zuko, which is how she's able to convince Zuko that he's mistreating her in the first place. Zuko believes Azula because he's been subjected to this crap his whole life and is terrified of being like his abusers. Essentially, the reason he falls for Azula's attempts to convince him that he is like her is because he is not like her. Azula is able to convince Zuko to let her go free and trusts her under the guise of giving her "dignity" when she's actually been lying to him and manipulating him the whole time, along with insulting and degrading him and putting him and his friends in danger.
Iroh's great sin is that he won't let Azula harm Zuko, yes, but also, like Zuko, the reason he is hated by these people is because he got redemption and Azula didn't. Sometimes he is more hated than Zuko because he's an adult and didn't change until well into adulthood, whereas we should give Azula leniency for being a kid. What these people fail to realize is that all the leniency in the world will not make Azula change, and she has never expressed any indication towards redemption.
Whenever people are like "but Iroh did bad thing," I just don't know what the argument is here. Is it that nobody should ever change for the better?
Nope, the real problem is that Zuko and Iroh changing for the better highlights how Azula didn't. That Zuko did what Azula couldn't gives the lie to the "she's just a kid" excuse, and that Iroh did what Azula couldn't gives the lie to the idea that her age means she's more likely to change her ways and that we should judge her on that.
It is true that it's harder to change the older you get, but that only highlights that redemption has to be chosen, it can't be forced. Anyone can change no matter who they are or what they've done, but Azula simply hasn't and doesn't think she needs to.
It's also very easy to imagine a redemption for her and use that idealized fantasy to judge the characters who actually got redemption in canon. But this is just more of engaging in abuser-logic fantasies.
It's not shown a lot, but there is evidence in atla that Ozai also thought he was a victim, and used that to defend his own abusiveness, even sometimes directly to the son he burned. He had to teach Zuko respect, didn't he? His own wife committed treason, didn't she? Nevermind that Ozai manipulated both of these scenarios so that they would come out in his favor. He certainly thinks of himself as the victim and that's the reason he won't change. Iroh knows this, too ("I've never known my brother to regret anything"), which is the other reason Azula stans hate him. He sees right through Ozai and he sees through Azula when she lies and manipulates, too.

Listen, I love villains. Villains are amazing.
They are awesome. 9/10 times they are more interesting than the "good" Characters.
You have an Evil Character on your Nr 1 Spot ? Thats great, dont let anyone tell you otherwise.
You feel sorry for a villain because of their tragic backstory ? Me too, thats relatable.
You want to see a villain getting a good redemption arc ? Yeah totally get that feeling
But it does get complicated for me when you invent a hundret head canons for that Character to point them in a better light and ignore the terrible Things they did.
(Headcanons are totally fine but if your headcanon is: "Their Dad used to b*at them every day and they were basically a S*x Sl*ve their whole life and thats why they k*lled all these people then....nah)
And it gets especially fucked up for me when you point fingers at their victims and somehow make them the bad guy or get mad at them for not forgiving them right away or not at all.

Yes, of course. I apologize if it came across as if I would be saying you would downplay their sacrifice or anything, because that Was not my intent.
And I totally agree about everything you just wrote about Yue and Ursa.
(Also side Note but I hate how Suki wasnt included on the List either not even honorable mention. )
I just came across a Top 10 most heroic Avatar characters and Zuko wasnt one of them. Their reason Was apparantly that "Zuko only turned good in S3 and couldnt be seen as a hero before". Idk that left a very bad Taste in my Mouth especially considering that Bumi made Nr7. What are your thoughts on this ?
Lol I read the article and I think the bad taste comes from the idea that being a hero means you have to have a spotless record? It's the problem I have with most Zuko discourse that usually comes from people trying to diminish his importance in the narrative. I mean, Kya, Ursa, and Yue also make the list but like, they are barely in the narrative and their roles are mostly to be innocent and idealized and then die or disappear.
Tumblr media
Well, then, I vote the papaya Katara ate in the fortune teller episode. It gave its life for that girl even thought it was hated.
Tumblr media
I don't get the logic of "someone who only appears briefly can be a hero, but Zuko wasn't a hero long enough." Yue appears in two episodes. Zuko may have started out as a villain, but he was fighting the baddies and demonstrating qualities of compassion and sacrifice by episode 3. I'd say what got him banished itself was an act of heroism and that Zuko was actually a hero long before he himself knew it, and even when he is free to be a true hero he spends most of the time denying that he is one.
Not to quote that edgelord line about heroes from The Dark Knight, but if a character gets labeled as a hero just because they didn't live long enough to have their actions scrutinized while another character can't be labeled as one because they survived the world trying to beat their heroism out of them and came out stronger then idk what a hero is.
Here's what google has to say about the definition of a hero:
Tumblr media
"...especially excessively or unexpectedly so."
In fact, I'd argue that one of the reasons Zuko stands out as a hero in the story is because we don't expect it of him. But it's a far more realistic and relatable heroic ideal than the idea that people are good or evil from birth and the hero saves the world because destiny says so.
The best heroes are the ones who do it even though it's hard, even thought destiny tells them that heroism wasn't meant for them. The whole thing about heroic sacrifice is that it has to be a sacrifice, meaning that they have to choose it consciously. It's not a heroic sacrifice if a character just suffers or has things taken from them.
I'll also provide one of my favorite definitions of a hero, from Quest for Glory 2. Hold onto your seats, because I'm busting out a poem from a computer game from 1990.
And they ask "What is a hero?"
Though the answer's very clear.
He's the one who faces danger
When the darkness hovers near.
Tumblr media
He will face the fiercest foe
When another needs his aid,
He will dare to defy death
Even though he is afraid.
Tumblr media
He works not just for glory
And he does it not for gain,
but because he knows that others
will be spared a greater pain.
Tumblr media
He won't always follow orders
For he dares to answer "why?"
Tumblr media
And unless he likes the reason
He refuses to comply.
Tumblr media
He will brave the battle boldly
Even though he may not win.
He will face his fate unflinching,
For he is a paladin.
Tumblr media
And they ask, "What is a hero?"
Though the answer's evident.
He's the one who faces death
Knowing that his life's well spent.

This is such an awesome take, thank you so much for such a long and spot on answer.
I am not only New to the Avatar Universe, but also to analyzing so forgive me if some of my thoughts maybe "wrong" or far fetched
As you said Zuko showed signs of heroism in S1 and I think Zhao is a very good contrast to Zuko. According to IMDB notes he was created because Zuko was too "sympathetic" to be a real villain and I totally see why they include it. I would argue that he was the one that brought out the Real hero in Zuko, because saving good people is easy. Not by action-wise but by deciding to help them. But Zhao is a terrible Person by any means and Zuko had a lot of Reasons to see him go down. But he doesnt, he showed kindness and mercy not once but twice to a man who doesnt deserve it and who even tried to have him bombed up by pirates.
Now I would never downplay Ursa and Kyas actions or Yues sacrifice. After all what is more honorable than dying for your children/your people ? But the thing is Zuko did the exact same thing, even if his sacrifice was not death. The 41st Division were his people and as a prince it was his place to protect them. Even after Iroh warned him not to speak up, he did it anyway with confidence in his voice. And I fail to see how getting half off your face burned off, losing honor, home, throne everything, just as Zuko said "for talking out of turn" is any diffrent from dying for them. I would even argue it was a Fate worse than death for 13!!!!year old Zuko.
(I cant stress the fact that he was 13 at the time enough)
"A hero protects his friends, a true hero protects his enemies".
And thats what Zuko did. Not just with Zhao but also Aang when he choose not to go after him twice in Book 1. Sure, it was because he had more Important Things to do as I saving his Uncle and Crew but it Was still an act of bravery, choosing what is right over your lifegoal.
And of course in Book 2 when he saves a whole village only for them to turn against him. Of course it makes sense, but we as an audience know and already sympathize with Zuko at this point so it still hurts. Helping these people gained him nothing but hatred from them but he didnt care because it was the right thing to do.
All in all what is more heroic than a child (even if he neither looks or acts like it Zuko is still a child) sacrificing their future, physical wellbeing and comfort (as much comfort as you can get with Ozai as your Dad) for their people?
Whats more heroic than a child facing their abuser and telling them what they did Was cruel and wrong, knowing said abuser will kill him instantly (he tried)
And of Course jumping in front of lightning to protect someone else, even if it means having another scar from a Person of their own family.
And thats why to me Zuko is not just one of the heroes but THE hero.
I just came across a Top 10 most heroic Avatar characters and Zuko wasnt one of them. Their reason Was apparantly that "Zuko only turned good in S3 and couldnt be seen as a hero before". Yes, Yes of course and I agree 100 %. It wasnt meant @ you, it was aimed at the people who fancast him as Tim or other attractive actors and maybe they dont even know that a face of Regulus exists. I mean its a blink and you miss it moment in the movies.
"B—but... Snivellus is a death eater..."
Listen here, you little shit. For Severus, he got neglected by BOTH parents (and it was implied that he was abused both physically and mentally as well.), gets bullied by two boys because he wanted to go to Slytherin (who sneers back and ends up getting bullied), almost gets killed and Sirius nor Remus gets any consequences other than detention (Really? Is his life worth detention and not Azkaban?), James flexes it to Lily and Lily starts believing James over the victim, Severus accidentally calls his bestfriend a mudblood over the heat of the situation (Lily was about to smile, when James literally used scorgify in his mouth), loses the person thay cared for him the most compared to others (Which Lily isn't even a good friend, so his life is messed up), with Remus and Sirius not maturing (Sirius still calls Severus "Snivellus", and Remus and Sirius spreading lies like "Severus was jealous of James" or "Lily never hated James," when it's the other way around!!! James was jealous of Severus because he existed and Lily was his best friend!
Now his blood supremacist friends are basically recruiting him, and helping him on the way! Basically, the "bad side" is his good side! They are the only ones who "cared" for him when he needed help! He was a death eater for a reason, and people manipulating him because he was vulnerable is a reason.
The audacity of stans trying to make a hotter version of Severus—Regulus? Regulus is basically a walmart Severus but Timothée Chalamet dressed up in wizard robes! If Regulus was told as ugly, nobody would boohoo care about him.
Tumblr media
Y'all only hate Severus and love Regulus because J.K. Rowling never made a Marauders era movie! Regulus is basically a blood supremacist with Voldemort shrines and posters who'd call Lily a mudblood! While Severus is basically bullied on a daily basis.
You guys got to see Severus's good and bad things! Like him "bullying" children, but saved the wizarding world. Literally, maybe he targeted children, but so did Minerva! Minerva literally targeted Neville and locked him outside of the Gryffindor common room when there's an apparent psycho killer, and humiliated him infront of everyone! But we all never see that because we are in Harry's POV, she favours him—she only took points and she was apparently fair because Harry's BIASED!!! Just like how all Slytherins are portrayed because of Hagrid and Ron!!! She favours Gryffindor just like how Severus favours Slytherin, except she takes big points away (which is from Gryffindors she doesn't like) and when she's infront of the professors!
Severus is a morally grey character, and Regulus? We basically time skipped him, we skipped all of the bad things he has done while we never skipped Severus's, that's why you don't have a bad opinion about him, but really! In the Marauders timeline, Regulus was a Voldemort fanboy while Severus literally had stuff happening.
This is why you don't hate James Potter, you guys basically skipped HIS timeline and moved to Harry's, which Severus is portrayed to be this big bad bully until DH! And that's why Harry "Snape's #1 Biggest Hater" Potter's vision changed to "Snape's #1 Biggest Defender", just like how his vision changed from "My father is a great man" to "I fucking hate my own father".
But you guys are so deep into these fanfics like CR (Crimson Rivers) or ATYD (All the Young Dudes) that you all forget about canon lore! He physically assaulted, sexually assaulted, and mentally exhausted Severus! We're not throwing the SA word around, because lets think of this:
———
Lily let out a stream of mixed swearwords and hexes, but her wand being ten feet away, nothing happened.
“Wash out your mouth,” said James coldly. “Scourgify!”
Pink soap bubbles streamed from Lily’s mouth at once; the froth was covering her lips, making her gag, choking her —
“Leave her ALONE!”
James and Sirius looked around. James’s free hand jumped to his hair again.
It was one of the boys from the lake edge. He had black hair that fell to his shoulders and startlingly onyx eyes.
“All right, Snape?” said James, and the tone of his voice was suddenly pleasant, deeper, more mature.
“Leave her alone,” Severus repeated. He was looking at James with every sign of great dislike. “What’s she done to you?”
“Well,” said James, appearing to deliberate the point, “it’s more the fact that she exists, if you know what I mean...”
Many of the surrounding watchers laughed, Sirius and Wormtail included, but Lupin, still apparently intent on his book, didn’t, and neither did Severus.
“You think you’re funny,” he said coldly. “But you’re just an arrogant, bullying toerag, Potter. Leave her alone."
Behind her, the Impediment Jinx was wearing off. Lily was beginning to inch toward her fallen wand, spitting out soapsuds as he crawled.
“Bad luck, Prongs,” said Sirius briskly, turning back to Evans. “OY!”
But too late; Lily had directed her wand straight at James; there was a flash of light and a gash appeared on the side of James’s face, spattering his robes with blood.
James whirled about; a second flash of light later, Lily was hanging upside down in the air, her robes falling over her head to reveal skinny legs and a skirt.
Many people in the small crowd watching cheered. Sirius, James, and Wormtail roared with laughter. Severus, whose furious expression had twitched for an instant as though he was going to smile, said, “Let her down!”
“Certainly,” said James and he jerked his wand upward. Evans fell into a crumpled heap on the ground.
Disentangling herself from her robes, she got quickly to her feet, wand up, but Sirius said, “Petrificus Totalus!” and Lily keeled over again at once, rigid as a board.
“LEAVE HER ALONE!” Severus shouted. He had his own wand out now. James and Sirius eyed it warily.
“Ah, Snape, don’t make me hex you,” said James earnestly.
“Take the curse off her, then!”
James sighed deeply, then turned to Lily and muttered the countercurse.
“There you go,” he said, as Lily struggled to her feet again, “you’re lucky Snape was here, Evans —”
“I don’t need help from filthy little Mudbloods like him!" (Severus is canonically a Mudblood because he has dirty blood—Muggle blood)
Severus blinked.
“Fine,” he said coolly. “I won’t bother in future. And I’d wash your skirt if I were you, Evans.”
“Apologize to Snape!” James roared at Evans, his wand pointed threateningly at her.
“I don’t want you to make her apologize,” Severus shouted, rounding on James. “You’re as bad as she is.”
“What?” yelped James. “I’d NEVER call you a — you-know-what!”
“[...], walking down corridors and hexing anyone who annoys you just because you can — I’m surprised your broomstick can get off the ground with that fat head on it. You make me SICK.”
He turned on his heel and hurried away.
“Snape!” James shouted after him, “Hey, SNAPE!” But he didn’t look back.
“What is it with him?” said James, trying and failing to look as though this was a throwaway question of no real importance to him.
“Reading between the lines, I’d say he thinks you’re a bit conceited, mate,” said Sirius.
“Right,” said James, who looked furious now, “right —”
There was another flash of light, and Evans was once again hanging upside down in the air.
“Who wants to see me take off Evans’s skirt?”
———
Now, let's see if this isn't messed up. This is humiliating! Why did Severus leave his female best friend when she was being PA'd and SA'd by a male! Why did he take out his wand too late? Why is he such a coward?
Gender roles do matter in this context, no matter if Severus considers this as SA or not, it's SA and he got his pants stripped down, but it doesn't matter, he's a boy isn't he?
If this was Lily, everyone would care, but no! It's greasy, slimy, old Snape, and he's a boy.
Sirius nor James used dark spells, but they were pretty much using hexes so it doesn't matter—they are basically baby DE bullies but Gryffindors.
Stop attacking Severus and start thinking about this, because he was just a boy.
A lot of people (Not all) cared for Harry when Myrtle basically tried to SA him, why not Severus? He was stripped infront of the whole school! (Not invalidating Harry's trauma), this is just so messed up.

Btw just so this is clear: This is Regulus
Tumblr media
(I actually find the character of Regulus Black very interesting on his own but not at the expense of Snape)
