But for now, here's one -
What brings u misery?
Oh anything really,
A careless whisper,
An unkind stare,
Lack of greetings,
Smtimes care.

I adored the waters for its melancholic beauty,
The way it was almost see-through.
I fell in love with the way waves crash,
I fell in love with its blue.
I realised my life was mirroring the ocean,
Down to the depth and the hue.
The silence, the sorrow, unpredictable tomorrow's,
And everywhere i looked it was blue blue and rue.

If only we'd help each other,
As quickly as we criticise,
And don't harshly judge each other,
Without knowing their side.
If only we'd still applaud,
Even if its not perfect.
If only we would overlook ,
The minor little flaws.
If only we'd lend helping hands,
Just as we do for handshakes.
Without a second thought for what they did to deserve our kindness.
If only we stopped saying I , and focused more on WE,
Maybe then we'd see that mankind prospers in unity.

Her eyes,
Like a dream and its meaning,
Like an ocean and its waves,
Like the sun and its rays,
A hypnotising gaze,
A moment and a memory,
Chaos served in trays,
Its sorrow and its remedy,
A look that makes u sway,
A calculated timely blink,
Almost liked a wave.
The stories swimming in the black,
And ode to all its witnessed.
A promise to take u on a ride,
Its all your wild adventures.

I met God one afternoon.
He asked me "How's life ?"
The question was almost comical so I took my time to reply.
I told him "I've got a question, it's bout the working of life."
God told "ask away my son, what do you have in mind."
I asked him about the 16 year old who asks if life gets any better,
The 4 year old who lives in a battle zone with no parents in sight
The 20 year old who thinks he's a failure and won't ever succeed.
The 40 year old who thinks his life went down the gutter.
God smiled at me and said " You ask about joy and sorrow, why I didn't give joy in abundance and why I didn't ban sorrow."
He offered me a glass of lime then, it was sour, it had no sugar.
When I asked for some he said, "you see now how one compliments  the other. "
"The balance of life", god continued," isn't in eternal pleasure."
"Its your ability to feel the pain that bring out joys sweet flavour."

The world isn't just,
Fairytales are fake,
Justice is an illusion and karma was a lie.
I see good people stuck in deep pain,
Bad people getting away,
Good and bad and justice are just ideas that people made,
Actions with no consequences,
But life was never fair was it ?
They say devil has a hand in it,
But he was once an angel.
All the ugliness I see on earth
I dont think heavens make it .
The cruelty and tyranny,
That we see down on earth,
Its too much that even the devil himself shed a tear.

She found him bleeding,
Where the world left him to die.
He was still standing,
But also was needing,
So she became his reason,
To express, to cry.

We cry for the dead,
No tears for the living.
We preach about God,
Then live like there isn't.
Life's not about what you win,
Its about what you give.
Lucky are the dead ,
They escaped to heaven.
Left hell below,
Earth is home to the devil.
You preach about God like you've
seen him,
Yet you drown in sin.
We shouldn't be unkind,
Love is what binds us together,
We forgot our ways,
And thats what has doomed us.
If War is the way you bring peace,
That peace is on lease.
Man killing man,
Soil drenched in blood.
Enough tears spilled,
To create a great flood.
God was never able to guide,
Coz we embraced the bad.
Maybe we were always doomed to end thus,
As unworthy a creature to roam these places.
Maybe our end is welcome,
Suffering will end.

They told me i was soft,
So I carved myself in glass,
Painted myself darker hues,
But Mostly white and black.
It was really great to look at,
But easier yet to break.
It looked hard but all it took to
take it down was a crack.
A little crack for total collapse,
and glass dont crack quiet,
And beware when u handle it,
Glass cuts you bad.

Now I'm dying,
Chasing dreams ,
Bleeding time I never had
Broken dreams, broken clocks,
Its the end of life but no applause,
Lost in time, lost in space
In the end what did I gain.
Now I lay wasting away,
In a mansion far away,
I've got a crown and robe of gold,
But they don't matter now no more,
It is just a crushing weight.
In a bed I myself made,
The last sleep isn't calm or quiet.
Its pretty quiet, im alone,
But in my head it's screams and roars,
Now here I lay, wasting away,
In the end what did i gain.
All the times I never had,
All the friends and all the meals,
All the fun I never had,
Not another chance i have,
This one I spend chasing gold,
And also glory I never got.
And so I lived now so I die,
In a mansion that I build,
Step by step, brick by brick,
But now I curse each brick I laid,
Tell me now before it's late,
Is it death if you didn't live ?

Ever seen ducks in the rain ? They just stand in the rain. They don't move or seek shelter. They let the rain come down on them when they could easily move. But before you judge the ducks for standing there while they could get away, don't we do that too ?. Don't we also stay in situations that can break us even though we have the power to walk away ? To move ? Don't we also brave the rain and just stand there when we don't need to get wet ?

Does a perfect man exist ?
You could carve yourself from stone,
But even stone erodes with time,
Your heart could be sculpted from ice,
But even ice melts when the heat is right,
Your beauty could be bright as sun,
But even the sun is too hot sometimes,
Your hair could be flowing like river,
But rivers do dry up,
Your eyes could shine like silver,
But silver does lose its shine.
You could chase an ideal,
Try to be perfect,
Like chasing the horizon,
Its an unattainable quest.
The moon isn't perfect,
Its got craters and big holes,
Marble has got lines on it,
But even through that they shone.

I just came across something. It said every great building we see, ever home, every bricks was once part of something else. Meaning everything we made is made out of ruins. The birth of one thing is death of something else. And I can't help but feel it's the same thing with humans. Everything we are is a result of something done by people who have passed on. We are the result of whats happened before us. And once you hear that, you can't help but feel more responsibility and more as if nothing matters. Everything you're doing now is going to be used by someone else to build their castle. Or, everything you're doing now is going to affect someone else's home.

I wrote a whole novel. Gave it to a beta reader amd she pointed out an obvious plot hole. So stupid of me. I'm rn rewriting the entire novel
When you're just casually writing, far enough along that you're not encountering any major issues, and then you come across the kind of plot hole where you have to close the doc and stare at a wall as you rework the entire plot

They say energy can never be created nor destroyed, its just transforms from one form to another. but so are feelings and emotion. Our emotions aren't destroyed. They just transcend forms. Our happiness when we hug people passes onto them just like how two colliding bodies pass on kinetic energy. Our anger when we talk to people becomes sadness in them just like how cars turn chemical energy into mechanical energy. So really, our emotions are energies. And that's probably why we are sometimes so possessed by it.
