Things/Songs I Associate With the Deities I Worship

(part 2)

I am back with this series, as I have said from the last post this is my UPG, and what I associate the deities I worship with things around me. However, there will be some that are just historically or popularly known to be associated with her.

For this post, I will be talking about Mother Hekate or Hecate.

I am her devotee, and since Kleidous-Agoge holiday has just passed, I would like to contribute this post to her.

Associations:

I associate her well with keys.

Cemetery and funerals.

Crossroads and highways.

Night and stars, as well as, dreams.

Books (ancient books too), road maps, and trains.

Dead and alive flowers, plants in general, especially poisonous ones.

Dogs (especially Black dogs), cats, dragons, snakes, crows, owls, swans, and wolfs.

Colors such as purple, black, green, blue, gold, and red.

Witchcraft, tarot cards, spirits, change, grimoire, mirrors, torches, and doors.

Love, duality, all that is within the human knowledge (math, science, literature, medicine, arts), self-empowerment, and anger/fury.

Genres such as mediations, indie rock, salsa, piano or violin music, and rumba.

Some songs that I genuinely feel her around are Quimbara and Luna Sobre Matanzas by Celia Cruz, To be loved, strangers by nature, All I ask by Adele, Moon River by Audrey Hepburn, Chiquitita by ABBA, and Would you Rather by Phoebe Bridgers. Also songs that dedicate to her such as; the call of Hecate Enodia (Dathura Suavolens), Orphic Hymn to Hekate (Ancient Greek, Sebastian Sanchez-Botta), and Hekate (An Danzza).

I associate Mother Hekate with secrets, the unknown, and shadows or shadow work.

Lastly, I associate her with transformation, haunted or new houses, storms and thunder, pomegranates and tea, coffee and garlic, eggs and olive oil, diaries and clocks, old and new family photos, the full/new/crescent moon, and the ocean.

That will be all, I enjoy reflecting and writing this post. I will say that I am very grateful to have celebrated the Kleidous Agoge holiday along with my friends from the discord, Sanctuary Of the Crossroads, hosted by @daggersandtorches and @enodia-polymorphous. As well as doing the crossroad ritual with Mother Hekate (including Deipnon), it was beautiful. My connection with Hekate has been deeply moving and wholesome as always :)). I hope the goddess knows how thankful I am to be her humble devotee and to have her on my side. And...

a spell meant to unbind you from a person, place, or situation. 

ingredients and items: 

two chime candles to represent yourself and what you wish to be separated from

carving tool 

string (long enough to tie around the candles with a few inches between them)

lighter 

basic fire safety knowledge

instructions:

carve your name into one of the candles, and something to represent the target or situation in the other candle

tie one end of the string to one candle, and the other end to the other candle, leaving a few inches between each one

as each candle burns down, it should also burn the piece of string along with it - this represents the separation of yourself and the situation or person you want to be rid of

meditate on your intent as per usual

once the candles have burned through the string, the spell is considered complete and you may extinguish the flames

please be wary that embers may drop from the string as it burns, so you may want to do this outside or on a fire-safe surface. in other words, don’t perform this spell on your favorite altar cloth.

- making a journal for Him (digital or analog) with prayers, tarot spreads, offerings and information about Him (I recommend this for every deity, honestly it’s really useful and a great way of showing devotion)

- learning more about Him and common misconceptions associated with Him (especially in Christianity)

- wearing clothes that radiate His energy and make you feel confident

In the end, any offerings you give Him are valid and will be appreciated, as long as you put some thought into it. Don’t worry if you can’t give Him the things you’d like to give Him, He will accept anything that comes from a place of love and devotion.

the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years

taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult

at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)

'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65

it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age

it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.

you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.

young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!

This meme is a MURDER ATTEMPT.

I am absolutely fucking serious. The original meme, without the big red denial, is someone's attempt to fucking kill people.

There is NO SAFE DOSAGE of pennyroyal oil. Even Mother Earth News says there's no reason to use pennyroyal essential oil for ANYTHING, even topically or as a fragrance, for fuckssake! That should give you some idea about how dangerous it is!

Pennyroyal tea, plant matter in hot water, is a traditional abortifacient. It is *incredibly* dangerous, induces abortion by bringing the body close to organ failure (and frequently pushing the system right over the edge, because dosage is impossible to meter), but I would drink a gallon of it before I took a half-teaspoon of pennyroyal essential oil.

Two teaspoons, taken across 48 hours, has successfully killed someone.

Three teaspoons taken as a single dosage killed the consumer within THREE HOURS.

There is NO SAFE DOSAGE! FOR PENNYROYAL OIL INTERNALLY! NONE!

The person who made this meme is PURPOSEFULLY, ACTIVELY, trying to get desperate people killed!
