Thanks to these kind recs, I read Dimpleverse because I'm French and we don't have a lot of Indian media.
And it was great !! Purest teen romance without being disconnected from real life. Characters feel so real. Don't know if it exist but i would have like an audio book just to hear the right pronunciation of names (you know).
It made me think so much more about this differente family organisation where parent have so much input in there children life. I love how we could see parents that love there children but maybe could be better at expressing it.
I really made me wish I have parents who love me and know me so well they could pick a perfect partner. (Lol im not even unlucky in love.)
I was just a little disappointed by the last book, it resolved so quickly, i was hoping to see more.
And of course, the Brown Sisters serie is a gem that I re-read when i feel the world lack of love - very often.

Book Rec time!
3 of my fave romance trilogies with woc leads🥰🥰
The Brown Sisters Trilogy by Talia Hibbert (black)
The Dimpleverse by Sandhya Menon (south asian)
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (east asian/white)

I thought that as a politician, Paul would reveal the conniving side of him, to help Georgia.
But he deflated because it was not some easy-to-fix difficulty and he was in danger. Even if he looked to have Austin custody, he didn't try to see him or anything similar.
And Paul took each bad decision he made on other (Georgia and Nick). I hope Georgia and Nick would team up in the future, they worked great together.
Stop Defending Paul Randolph
(💥SPOILER FOR SEASON 3💥)

Because abandoning someone at their lowest isn’t “reasonable.” It’s cowardice.
Paul didn’t make good choices.
He had good choices.
Options. Privilege. Reputation.
He walked into Georgia’s world with all the advantages and ran the second it stopped serving him.
Georgia was losing everything.
Her kids were taken by CPS.
She was being framed in the court of public opinion.
She was staring life in prison in the face.
She needed Paul.
Not as a savior but as a shield.
And he left.

Let’s be clear:
Paul didn’t just walk away emotionally.
He walked out physically and publicly.
In front of the town. In front of the cameras.
In front of Georgia’s children.
He humiliated her when she had nothing left.

Yes, Georgia lied about being pregnant.
But it wasn’t to be malicious or cunning.
It was a survival tactic.
She was desperate. She was cornered.
She was trying to protect what little she had left.
Paul’s response?
He nearly hit her.
He called her “the most selfish person he’s ever met.”
He told her she’d go to prison.
He said her kids would be better off without her.
Let that sink in.

Paul isn't evil.
But he is a coward.
He doesn’t know how to love what he can’t control.
He doesn’t know how to show up when things get real.
He wanted Georgia to be pretty, polished, and manageable.
Not human.
And here’s what really infuriates me:
The world still sees him as the victim.
People excuse Paul because he looks respectable.
They condemn Georgia because she’s chaotic.
But here’s the truth:
Paul never loved Georgia.
He loved the idea of her.

Georgia was never perfect.
But she’s a mother who fought like hell.
Paul didn’t want to get dirty.
So he threw her away.
Don’t call that mature.
Don’t call that noble.
Call it what it is: a betrayal.

A lot of people say the writers “ruined” Paul. I disagree. They made one of the best choices of the season.
They didn’t ruin him they revealed him.
Paul was never a hero. He was just a man who looked like one until the mask fell off.
Whether it was intentional from the start or something that evolved, it worked. It gave the story teeth. It showed us what happens when women like Georgia put their trust in image over substance and it hurt, because it was real.
I'm glad they didn’t protect Paul.
Because men like him get protected enough in real life.
Stop defending Paul.
He’s not a good man.
He’s just a man who had the option to leave and took it.

I woke up at 4 am to watch the new season of Ginny and Georgia
And it was actually mind-boggling
I laughed, I cried, I yelled, I crashed out
I need a few days to recover from this honestly.

Review about Rewind It Back
Mood : not impressed
Spoiler above
So not a big fan of this book despite the fact that I love the previous stories so much. But several things don't work for me
First, I spent most of the book waiting for the story. It doesn't feel as cohesive as it should. The intrigue was blurred, themes not fully explored
Second the characters are not as well defined. There so much telling and never showing, sometimes I just thought the writer doesn't know who she's writing about.
Hallie and Rio don't scream social butterfly, they seem isolated and secretive. Ryan Shay was more with people even at the start.
Hallie seem washed, we don't see or spend time with the things she care about : music, family, friends, work, artsy inspiration...
I liked seeing why Rio and Indy are good friend though.
Rio decision process doesn't make sense for me : why do one date only if you know that you have to spend time with someone to have the possibility to fall in love? When you said several times you want to know this kind of love again.
I like that he didn't want to talk negatively about Hallie but how did he avoid completely talking about her? She is in all of his childhood memory, all his hockey life. Logistically, I don't understand.
I'm just disappointed by this book and a bit mad because I really wait for it. But it's ok, glad I'd pay L. Tomford for her work, next time will be better.
(I was so glad I well-guested with who Rio father cheat on his wife, it was easy tho)

Me suis encore faite piéger à regarder une série juste parce que ça me rappelait un bouquin : aujourd'hui c'est Running Point / La meneuse.
Vraiment marrant, énergique et chill.
Les scènes de danse plus longues que celles de basket : hilarant

Character analysis of Sakura
No bashing nor shipping here (I try)
I try to find the main elements of Sakura and why she disappointes me in Naruto Shippude.
1. Sakura is a Naruto
Yeah, truly. I find that their similarities are really underlined in the first part. They both have a lot of doubt and childish humor. They hide their feeling because they want to be viewed as good shinobi. They have loud, in-your-face personality.
But, Sakura is closed to everyone. During the manga, she seems mostly lonely. She did not become friend when she meet someone. And most importantly, she seek the approuval on only one person Sasuke.
She always insecure about her self-worth but nobody seems able to reassure her. Not her friends (Naruto, Ino, maybe Lee), not her sensei (Kakashi, Tsunade, maybe Shizune but that's a hc). She waits Sasuke so she stay deeply insecure. (Sasuke is really not in the mood to emotionally help somebody else, at any point of the manga. )
2. Naruto and Sakura are complementary...
They both take care and love Sasuke differently. Naruto seems distant but truly values him, he relies on him and trusts him, sees him clearly.
Saura is more on the care side. She gives meds, food, talks about his security, and so on.
Narratives seem to imply that both behaviour are valid and good. For me, a young traumatized Sasuke could appreciate their interactions and value his teammates.
3. Naruto Shippuden change the wrong thing about that.
Yeah Sakura changes a little but deep down she's still the same. She wait for Sasuke's approuval and is insecure.
Only this time, Sasuke is in a darker place and she cannot reach him with ordinary acts of care. (It makes sense. )
The worst for me is that her arc is static but when we actually see her, she gives only the bad sides thanks to her insecurity. Even if it's IC, it's annoying. Even more annoying when the narrative seems to compare Sakura and Naruto like their are a good and a bad way to handle Sasuke.
For a manga who preach for teams as much as Naruto does, it's pretty sad.
I would have prefer that thanks to Naruto, she overcomes slowly her insecurity and allows people to be valuable parts of her life (she seems to have people who care about her but she does not listen). It the effect he has for everybody else.
(I do not understand that she is here since the begining and have so little evolution or impact.)

Some things I LOVED about this season:
College is hard: yeah it's good to remember the stress, and fear and all little complication. College have all reasons to not be the dream (even more when you had the livetime credit on top of the rest)
It was nice to see each character be uncertain and wonder what they prefer.
Family: that's the theme that Never I have ever never missed! It was really cool to see them interact and support each over. Devi spend so less time hiding and lying! Nalini feels so calm! I could only be happy because back in s1 they were no calm scenes in the house.
Gradma is hilarious and it was so nice to see protective Kamala in action. Loved them!
Also loved that they all strongly value them living together.
Friends: the scene with Fabiola promises to avoid Ethan was so fun, she carries it! They support each over even when it's hard, loved that.
Also loved that in the end, they associated Devi to her good sides, the passionate, driven-force that she have (vs s2 when she has so mess up that they transform Devi in verb)
Trent and Paxton were so cute together, bromance that I loved!
And for the romance: yeah always messy but always good and enjoyable! Loved that it was more character-focus this season. But couples were cute. Fabiola and her girlfiends were really great together, Eleanor and Trent were so passionate and connected, my fav

I binge-watch My Live with the Walter Boys and I had only one thought : where is Doug?
Because the idea look just like Megan Maede and the McGo (a book by Kate Brian) where a teenage girl go live in Massachusetts with parents friend and there 7 sons.
Unlike in the show, the cold and unwelcoming one is a guy named Doug, he is not the 2nd love interest (that's another brother).
I don't know why but the relationship between Cole and Alex was a shit show.
