Hi!
I'm @two-entire-bits, this is my art blog!
I go by Two/Two-Bit and Marcia! (for now) & my pronouns are he/him
I post art for:
The Outsiders (book, 1983 movie, and 2024 musical)
Star Trek (so far I've only drawn TOS, but I like TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, and AOS too!)
Doctor Who (2005-)
My OCs!
I'm in a lot of other fandoms, but these are the ones I've been in since starting this blog last year!
I'm currently actively working on drawings of:
Trevor Wayne as Ponyboy
Trevor Wayne as Ponyboy and Josh Strobl as Johnny

Just because they can't go to their actual homecoming doesn't mean Marcia can't help Two-Bit get all dressed up to have a nice dinner and then dance the night away at her house

I think Steve's mom left because she couldn't stand his dad, but his dad blamed it on Steve and him being deaf. He never taught Steve how to read lips or much about English, and he never bothered to learn sign, so when he would yell at Steve until he kicked him out Steve just wouldn't respond, but he'd get the message to leave. And I think some nights when his dad had drank too much alcohol he'd get physical.
One night, Steve shows up at the Curtis house, and usually when he gets kicked out he'd just camp out on the couch, but holy shit his dad just sprained his wrist and probably broke a finger and he doesn't know what to do because his dad's never gone that far before. Yeah, he'd maybe gotten a bruise or two, and he'd messed up his hands a bit fighting before, but now his hand's going numb, and he can't talk, and he's actually scared. So he goes into Soda's bedroom and gently taps him awake, and when Soda turns on the lamp all he sees is Steve looking scared and angry and cradling his wrist.
And he gets Steve to sit down on the bed and slowly, gently asks him what happened. But Steve is still shaking and he isn't moving his hand and it looks swollen and he looks like he's about to start crying and Soda's never seen Steve like this and he realizes something is really, truly wrong.
So he just holds him. He gets him to lay down, being careful to avoid his hand, and just holds him close with Steve's head on his chest until his breathing calms down. Eventually, Steve just signs "father". That makes sense to Soda, Steve sleeps over all the time when his dad kicks him out, but his wrist is still swollen and his finger is a little bent and discoloured. So, Soda waits, rubbing circles into Steve's back. And then he signs "fight".
And slowly, he manages to explain what happened.
How he walked into the kitchen to look through the pantry, how his dad, obviously drunk, started yelling at him. How he just "took" it as always, never really knowing exactly why he was so angry. How he waited for him to stop, how he just kept going. How Steve started getting angry too, how Steve started signing insults. How his dad got even more angry, how he started towards him, how he shoved him against the wall by the front door, getting so close to him Steve could smell the alcohol on his breath and his dad was practically spitting at his face.
How he grabbed his left wrist and abruptly twisted it until Steve felt a white hot pain, how his dad pointed at the door and yelled at him to get out, how Steve didn't move because his dad's never hurt him like that before and for once he didn't fight, he froze. How, when Steve stayed where he was, his dad grabbed his sprained wrist and slammed the front door on his hand. How that broke Steve out of his trance, how he shoved his dad away from him with his right arm and ran out of the house. How he just kept running, how he ended up at the fence of the Curtis house.
And Soda's never seen Steve so close to tears. He's never seen him more scared than he is angry. And he doesn't know what to say. So he just holds him as tightly as he can and reassures him that he's safe here, that his dad isn't going to hurt him like that again.
Once Steve seems calmer, he slowly eases Steve up and out of bed and to the bathroom. He looks over his wrist and finger. Despite everything, he was lucky: nothing seemed out of place or dislocated, it would most likely heal fine without a doctor, and it wasn't his dominant hand. So, just for tonight, he just wraps it up and gets some ice. He can tell Steve is very awake, so he takes him to the living room and turns on the TV, just as a distraction, something for him to watch, something to take his mind off it. After an hour or two of watching whatever was on, Steve's asleep on his shoulder. So Soda gently moves the ice off his hand, picks him up, and carries him to his bedroom.
When they wake up, he'll talk to his parents, and they'll look over his hand and give him a splint so it all heals right, and they'll talk about what's going to happen next. But for tonight, for now, Steve is asleep in his bed, and he looks the most calm he has since he showed up in Soda's bedroom, and all Soda wants to do is hold him and know he's safe.
