All very good points and I actually agree with you.

However, she can still be a fangirl without being gross and snivelling and so immature about it. It's really icky how they make her fangirling so weird. It's like she turns into a toddler.

I am an obsessive fangirl through and through and I gush over my husbando and things I like but I don't have such a bizarre personality change when I do. Akira goes from serious cool chick to snotty nosed toddler and I find that off-putting.

Hot take but I absolutely hate what they did with Akira in My Dress Up Darling.

When she first appeared and 'hated' Marin it was actually intriguing because up until this point everyone just loves Marin (except Sajuna but she's cold to everyone).

There was a lot of tension in the story and a real mystery why someone would dislike the most popular and lovable girl ever.

And then it turns out she's just a snivelling simp 🙄

I love Marin. She's like the best friend every teenage girl needs. But there is no stakes in the story. No tension because we know Marin will just breeze through life with everyone falling for her beauty and cheerful personality.

Akira came across as so strong, independent and unsentimental. And then they just turned her into a braindead fan girl. It grosses me out every time I see it.
