🪴 Lately I’ve been drawn towards artists with a more illustrative style, who aren’t afraid to push colours outside of their natural order, as well as not loosing the overall painterly essence from overworking a piece. So I took on a study to figure out how I can achieve those desires in my work flow. I wonder how this adventure will develop.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, as my health has a mind of its own. I have many artwork in progress, but haven’t mustered the energy to finish them.

I tried glaze for the first time and it mildly affects the paintings look, but it’s not too noticeable. I wonder if nightshade/glaze actually works? It takes too long though :(

Not so long ago I would never have picked a reference so complex to tackle. Little milestones like this are great reminders for me that artistic progress is being made, because sometimes the levelling up happens so gradually it becomes unnoticeable. Finishing this made me very happy. 😊 I hope you like it.

Thank goodness for the birth of the copy and paste tool. I would’ve been sat doing all the little windows forever. This is the final sketch I did in the trio of perspective studies. Lots of things were learnt… it’s been awhile so lots of things have evaporated out my brain. I should do this again sometime
