hello everyone! Thought id share how to say goodbye in russian since i could think of a few ways, here they are ranging fron most to least casual!
Покá - opposite of привéт, super casual and means "bye"! you would normally say this to a friend, close family member or someone younger than you. i can't think of the origin but the word has a second meaning, which is "for now/while".
До скóрого - (lit. until soon), somewhere between пока and до встречи in terms of formality, but meaning is closest to the next point.
До встрéчи - literally translates to "until (our next) meeting", a bit more formal than покá, but unlike it clearly implies that you will meet the person again at some point later, so id say its closer "See you" / "Until next time".
There is also a second version, "До нóвых встреч" (lit. until new meetings, meaning is the same, ive heard it used most often on tv programmes and when adressing an audience) and a more 'urgent' version: До скóрых встреч (Until our next meetings [which will happen soon]).
До свидáния - same literal meaning as до встречи but does not necessarily imply youre going to see the person again. Im not sure about the origins of this one but it likely has to do with the somewhat obsolete verb свúдиться - to meet/encounter someone, lit. to see each other.
Всегó дóброго/хорóшего - lit. means "(I wish you) All the best." You can use this when leaving a work meeting, finishing a phone call respectfully or with a customer. It can be used outside of professional situations but from my experience that's less common. Here, дóброе is used in its second meaning (first being "kind/pleasant [person]"), which is "good/nice".
Прощáй(те) - means farewell. a permanent goodbye, you will likely never see the people you say this to again. Прощай is the slightly more casual version while прощайте is more formal or refers to a group. Interesting fact: it wasnt formed from простúть (to forgive) but instead простúться (to bid farewell). the second word is also somewhat obsolete.
hope this was interesting! let me know what topics youd like me to talk about next and ask questions if you have them!

last time I posted in here was more than a year ago, and palpably hopeless, so as you can imagine there's much to tell
I ended up taking a gap year to process everything, which has helped me clarify my goals and intentions,
not long after that last post, I landed my first proper job in law and have managed to switch to my second job during this timeframe!
I've developed a tremendous interest in Intellectual Property Law and did a couple of internships too, which led me to long-time collaborations and connections I couldn't even imagine,
my social skills have improved so so much as a direct result of putting myself out there, which I'm sure a lot of you know how much of a big accomplishment is,
I'm currently in my last year of uni, preparing to write my thesis on the EU AI Act, think it'll be fun to monitor everything going on here again.
if you feel the same way I did about life and studies a while ago, know that things definitely get better as you move forward :)

the second round of retake exams starts tomorrow. i'm anxious to the bone and i'm not. there's a mandatory internship in the faculty's legal clinic this semester though, excited to at least showcase some practical skills.
no idea what's going on with my job, but i'm trying to work, see how it'll work out.
it was, in fact, not late to get in touch with some classmates that look like fun. we've been going out and around.
i visibly have everything i'd practically prayed for a couple of months ago, yet it's even more chaotic. i'd rather have the chaos.

I’ve spend a few full days at the library studying. It was so empty and atmospheric I was actually managing to get stuff done. Alas, very little.
Meanwhile, the job I was offered is getting postponed so much and I missed some good opportunities just for that. It’s making me infinitely sad, I hope something works out,
Applied for a couple of remote internships which seem super interesting, doing another leadership program,
Starting German lessons in a couple of weeks, so langblr content expectable?
I’m about 95% sure that I won’t even be a candidate for an exchange semester, but I’m blindly looking forward to applying??

Another book I recently bought. I was so eager to read something light-hearted and winter themed.
Monday, the 16th of January
Last night I made some insane plans for the summer that I really wish to realise for myself, for my academic journey and for my career. Let's see if we can make them reality!
Studying
Practice Russian
Finish at least three exam simulations
Read 85 pages of Requiem
Japanese-Canadian literature course
Scan literature [pushed to another day]
Read literature on Indian economy
Start researching History Writing in the digital age
Things my heart needs
Yoga and a walk in the morning, lunch with a friend and printing pictures for my wall

hit 200 followers today ty! it feels good knowing a group of people as big as my uni class is watching, with the difference of not having the judgmental eye.
i was relieved that there’s about a week until my next exam, but i relaxed instead of studying in small chunks so trying to take in as much information as possible now.
one more main exam after that and i’m starting retakes. hopefully i’ll pass from the first try. second round retakes are tragic.
