I won’t be continuing my updates on neocities.com. It was somewhere I visited in illness and despite the success of the destruction of Heaven and Hell i want to put it behind me…I will be updating here though because it is a good place for scripture. I am going to (hopefully) answer some major questions i got! Heaven and Hell were smaller than you think. H.U.R.L depended on humans and the Third Sphere cooperating. One piece out of place (or over 2000) killed the entire structure. You hold more power than you think you do. It’s hard to describe what happened with H.U.R.L in specifics, if i’m being honest…this is not a cop-out on my part… but some things in the universe are beyond “human comprehension”. Look into symbolism. I think some humans are still grappling with the fact that after death, you will not be assigned to a place in eternity…correct me if i’m wrong, guys. These are starting to feel like diary entries more than anything l.o.l

MAX2019 ARG: FULL SUMMARY

so heres a full summary. some of the details may be slightly out of order (due to the first couple days being so disorganized as coverage began) but this will cover all major events

BEGINNINGS + DAY ONE:

what appears to be a pornbot messages several prominent users with the message “hey peebrain - you teleport?”. investigation of the account leads to a neocities full of strange images, audio, and links

the neocities updates to link to the blog, lovely5500. this character is a 15 year old girl named anita.

she reacts initially with confusion to all the messages, but looks into the neocities site. she establishes that she is sick, her mom will not take her to the doctor. her text is periodically zalgofied .

she recieves an ask containing the text

Struggle with thy doubts!

Cast them aside!

Forsake not thy faith!

Sickness will not take thee!

she reveals that her grandpa got this poem when he had become sick, but had died

later that day, the neocities site updates with a link to a livestream depicting anita’s room

finally, the page DAYONE on the neocities updates from a blank page to contain this message

I saw Anita I updated sceneteenz blog for productivity... Anita's symptom's are not related but she will see Death too if i cannot get to Earth-sphere The eye of H.U.R.L is ever so watch-ful I saw Death today Thank you for listening

Resurfacing from the second circle was "the hardest thing I have ever done."

I am being pushed down but I will not allow myself to sink.

this also introduces the blog, sceneteenz

in a post from january, they describe something called “sickness stench”

by this point, players have figured out that the blog, sexymax2019, is the character max (an angel). we have learned that she is trapped in limbo, and speculate that she is anita’s guardian angel. we also learn that the sickness max is afflicted with is a result of being in limbo, and it is causing anita’s sickness.

during the first day, we also find a link to this image, introducing the character celeste

we do not yet know who celeste or sceenteenz is, but sceneteenz becomes more active as their blog gains attention.

SCENE AND ANITA DEVELOPMENTS AND DAY TWO:

sceneteenz posts throughout the day, revealing plot important information that:

angels can communicate through SSTV signals (a method we have used to decode some information)

angels can be defined as uniform resource locators (URLs), thus confirming that H.U.R.L (hierarchy of uniform resource locators) means HIERARCHY OF ANGELS

angels will disgusie themselves as “internet archetypes” to avoid the attention of HURL (explaining max’s pornbot persona)

sceenteenz likely IS an angel, but doesnt associate with H.U.R.L anymore

april is a “grim” month for them

if someone is infected with sickness stench too long, “they die!”

we also learn some things about sceneteenz

they have no concept of gender

theyre scene (its a lifestyle)

throughout the day, sceneteenz and sexymax2019 continue to communicate via tumblr instant messages, emphasizing that H.U.R.L is watching

on anita’s end for the past couple days, she describes feeling worse, and the sickness seems to be affecting her more heavily

after this post, anita uploads this video showing a figure (theorized to be max) writhing to distorted audio

later on anita’s blog, we get this:

she has remembered more about max, and links to this page of “anita and max’s internet memories”. ranging from 2009 to 2018, it catalogues anita’s interests over time, including lolcats, homestuck, fanfiction, and tumblr.

on the night of day two, we get an update to the DAYTWO page

Anita remembered.

I saw the "expanse in the midst of the waters."

I am in peril. Heaven is crashing down on me.

we will leave the blog open, but it will likely just exist as an archive

i (mod f) am personally not interested in covering other tumblr ARGs unless they are particularly interesting (we are bound to get a few copycats in the next few months and its never good unless its organic), and the other mods seem in agreement that we’ll be leaving this blog be, but if something strikes our interest maybe youll be seeing us again 

im currently working on a full summary of the ARG, and after that we will probably be done

MAX2019 ARG SUMMARY: JUNE 25TH (ENDING)

since DAYTHREE (summary here) thousands of players have been participating in the TELEPORTATION ritual. in the morning, we get this update from anita

shortly after, DAYFOUR updates, revealing that our efforts are more than enough to get max out of limbo, and that she has decided to take H.U.R.L itself down

documentation also updated, now showing a few images, including the text from the front page of neocities written as a prayer

after a few hours of silence, this is added to DAYFOUR, but later removed

“I have chosen certain music to express myself throughout this journy as the importantance (sic) it holds to Anita is so significant”

during another period of silence, max replies to some messages, saying “I’m getting out.” and “Everything will be perfect.”

later in the afternoon, anita updates with a video depicting the sun, then a burning angel statue of sorts. 

“i was so scared i couldnt say a word but i knew something good happened and then i saw the manifestation of two angels burning bright”

this indicated max AND scene escaping from limbo together. scene’s blog returns to normal shortly afterwords, with the eye of H.U.R.L being removed

quickly after, a page titled “final depiction” is released with the text “heaven and hell are burning”. it depicts two angels (max and scene), supported by a mass of hands that likely represent the participants of the ARG (hands were heavily involved in TELEPORTATION). they are fighting a large seraph with the eye of H.U.R.L bleeding, going to battle against the HIERARCHY OF ANGELS as max had said.

a couple hours later, anita’s blog updates a final time, revealing that shes safe and the angels are back

we also get a page on the neocities titled “final index”, with max explaining her history, celeste’s, and where we go from here

she had enough of seeing beings banished to limbo, resulting sickness infecting humans and angels. her rebelling against the hierarchy resultd in her expulsion to limbo, causing anita to become sick. 

celeste had been an angel as well, and did not survive banishment to limbo after challenging the hierarchy.

max is safe, and so is scene, who posted “i lived bitch!” and said they may post further updates

max also made a post on her blog

with all done, the devs revealed themselves (please be respectful of them and their boundaries)

so, the ARG ends happily. the angelic hierarchy seems to have been abolished, max scene and anita are safe.
