Pretty proud of Swanson, Arthur? Not so much

Anyways I've recently been shopping low honor Arthur with Swanson, mostly for fun because I think they can actually be kinda cute

They don't make each other better, but they also don't make each other worse. They accept each other as they are, it's a relationship that sort of develops over the course of chapters 2 and 3, when Swanson is attempting to get better, but doesn't really take off until chapter 4 (at least that's how I'm seeing it)

I also mostly used pen because I found it very satisfying to color stuff in with it

I watched Silverado with my dad, I really liked the movie

Paden especially was my favorite character

First time I've ever drawn Mary-Beth... Her hair confuses me, but at the same time hair normally confuses me and I fake it until I make it

It's not clear but the "R J" book is supposed to be Romeo and Juliet ToT

I'm actually really pleased with how this came out

I love Kieran Duffy, he's definitely my favorite character and I relate to him on a personal level

He's literally me guys!

I've been thinking about trying to make a cosplay of Kieran, which seems like a real fun project anyways because then it would give me the perfect excuse to hand sew for personal projects

Pre-RDR2 Arthur and Hosea!!

I love that one photo of Arthur, Dutch, and Hosea that Arthur has by his cot, it's nice to know what they all sort of used to look like?

And below the cut is John and some thoughts of mine

I like to think that John joined the gang when he was 12 and Arthur would've been about 22. It feels like a gap but I have a feeling that it'd only contribute to their brotherly banter dynamic.

In my brain John was always used to going at it alone and it led to him being stubborn and refusing the gangs help even after he joined. I think Arthur felt similarly when he first joined, but I also feel like he'd then be able to recognize similar behavior in John and I feel like that's what would annoy him most

I think that it was Hosea who convinced Dutch to take in Arthur, and it was Dutch who convinced Hosea to take in John, hence why each of them have their respective favorites.

John Marston - The Heartlands, New Hanover

I quite like how this turned out

The whole point of Sydney Nash is that he and Wolfe Callahan can't be together in the way that they want to. It's not a matter of Sydney not wanting to say it, or Wolfe not feeling like it, or either of them being dense and not realizing their feelings.

The whole problem is that Sydney cannot admit to himself that he's queer. He doesn't want to have to deal with the weight that being queer carries, he doesn't want to deal with how acknowledging it changes everything in his life. It changes how he's perceived, how he and Wolfe interact. Wolfe knows this and respects his space, his want to never say it.

"I love you" goes unspoken between them, said rather in the small acts that they share together. From Wolfe making Sydney's favorite for dinner, to Sydney doing a chore that Wolfe particularly hates, and Wolfe buying Sydney a doll he finds, and Sydney trying to take on odd jobs to make more money. It's not unique to them, it's really not, but it doesn't need to be.

"I love you" is the only phrase that Sydney says to Wolfe, and he'll never get a reply.

In the end, "I love you" is the unspoken phrase that ends their lives together.

And then Sydney, he keeps loving Wolfe even after he's gone. He buries Wolfe with his own hands, wears both of their bandanas, keeps his hat, buys the property that Wolfe wanted. He builds a house that they could've shared, he builds a life that they could have lived if it weren't for the tombstone by the fence that always faces West.

If Sydney hadn't drawn his gun, if he had said "I love you", then Wolfe wouldn't be dead.

In every universe, no matter the outcome, Sydney has to say "I love you" first. Only then does he admit to himself that he's queer, but he properly acknowledges his love for Wolfe in a way that Wolfe is comfortable accepting. Wolfe would never say it first, he's not comfortable saying it first because he'd be forcing Sydney to accept a part of himself he's not ready to yet.

These two have consumed my waking days (Hamilton ref in 2025)

Anyways unrelated, but the author/narrator/the guy writing the story canonically has a name and it's Edward Martin Anderson, but everyone calls him Martin or Andy. I don't make the rules ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠˘⁠_⁠˘⁠)⁠┌

Simon doodle!!! I love Simon so much, he was my favorite character (This is based off of the graphic novel)

I feel like it's a canon event for all Simon fans to admit that they like him the chapter before he meets the Lord of the Flies

Woah!!! Sydney and Wolfe!!!

They make me so happy but so unbelievably sad

I like to imagine what they'd be like if they lived in the same universe as RDR2, like Sydney would've lived in Armadillo, and Wolfe would've grown up around Saint Denis or something, food for thought in my opinion
