Creator notes:

While I am fixing up stuff for the first chapter of this AU, I got the motivation to do a little something with the main protagonist and antagonist of it!

The drawing is based on episode 11 of Tokyo mew mew, no direct scene in particular but the setting.

Since the chapter where Agent Parfait is introduced is further up ahead, I will willingly share a little bit about Ace’s and Deuce’s relationship in this AU:

╰┈➤ First and foremost: their first meeting will be different from the source material, Tokyo Mew Mew. Aka. No forceful kiss, because Deuce ain’t like that.

╰┈➤ While Deuce is more fascinated by Ace, seeing him as the only one worthy of protecting from death, while Ace does not like Deuce in any regard, which will be explained in their official meeting.

╰┈➤ Yes, agent Parfait does call Mew Cherry/Ace from “Kitty-cat” as provocation. Just like in the source material. Just simply to provoke Ace, who already has issues with being a magical boy. Deuce just likes to tease him and rile him up and it catches Ace every time.

╰┈➤ Even if Deuce favors Ace in terms of interest, it doesn’t mean he won’t fight. Deuce has a mission, first and foremost. However as time goes on, his feelings change. For better or for worse, it’s too early to disclose.

Their first meeting will be explored in chapter 3 of the fanfiction, which will take a while to get to.

Heyo! I came to post an update to let everyone knows that this AU is still in development and I haven’t forgotten about it.

The first chapter is taking quite a while to write due to the writing itself and the additional artwork I want to provide for the chapter.

Furthermore, I have been working with additional designs for this AU, like designing Idia, Trey and a character I haven’t talked much about, Lilia/General Eclair.

Updates on chapter 1:

I am somewhat 1/3 of the way with the chapter. For anyone who knows how the first episode progresses in Tokyo mew mew, I can say I am at the exhibition scenes.

Here is a snippet though

“It’s such a shame that this species is going extinct…”

“Extinct?” Ace inquired as his smile shifted into a subtle frown.

“Fewer than 2500 of these cats are left in the world” Yuui adds but before Ace can ask how that is possible, the classmate continued with a hint of growing frustration:

“Their habitats are being destroyed… half of their forests are gone but no one seems to be doing anything about it. This can be said for all the animals shown in this exhibition. Habitats are disappearing, some animals are hunted for sport while others suffer because of the pollution we caused. All of them are dying due to ournegligence”. Seeing how much Yuui cares and how angry they are at this, makes Ace angry too. Without thinking he spews his mind.

“Something must be done about this!” He stomps his foot, “it’s unfair that these animals are suffering because of us.”

“What do you suggest we do?”, Yuui asks with their brows lifted. A calmer expression is written across their features.

“I-I don’t know but I know we have to do something! Anything!”

Sure, his words lack wholehearted passion compated Yuui’s in terms of protecting these Red Data Animals. However, he is far from condoning this eradication, he just lacks the understanding of what this all means for him and others. He just knows that it will make Yuui happy to believe he cares just as much they do. If he could, he would save the world.

What can be expected?

The story will follow the source material closely in the beginning chapters but there are also major revamps in terms of character motivations and relationships.

If I may dwell more into the question here. I will make art of them in their school uniforms, so at some point the uniforms will be shown! I won’t make promises on the looks, because I want to avoid a burnout so I can keep making content!

Also I may not finish this scene so here you have a treat of Riddle “working” at the cafe by managing Ace.

I promise I will do a proper drawing. I am saving those for the fanfic! Right now enjoy the simplified ones!

General Plot

Ace Trappola is an average high school student, subpar in his studies but excellent at Basketball. His crush on his friend Yuui drives him to great lengths and has motivated him to attend an endangered animal exhibit along with them. This motivates him to do whatever it takes to help the world, but mostly doing so to impress his peer. However, a supposed earthquake took over and the last thing he saw was a red light. Afterwards Ace dreamt of an orange cat. From that day on, Ace starts to act strangely. The smell of fish that he once despised makes him follow the scent, small critters distract him and he has developed quite the impressive ability for acrobatics and landing on his feet without fail.

On Ace’s investigation of what happened prior to the earthquake, he feels a weird feeling leading him towards the park. There he catches his crush, Yuui, being attacked by a monster. Ace gets saved by his upperclassman, Trey Clover, who encourages him to fight. Of course, without any proper explanation, Ace gets pushed to fight a beast way taller and stronger than him. However, seeing Yuui about to be attacked, it triggers the young boy’s transformation and he ends up defeating the monster. Therefore, protecting his beloved friend.

Shortly after, Trey acquaints Ace with the main man behind this uncalled for situation Ace found himself in, Idia Shroud. Once back at the secret base, the cafe, Idia tells the young boy about the Mew Project, how he was one of five suited to carry the Mew DNA, and how aliens are attacking Earth. It is Ace’s job to recruit his other team members and save the earth from certain destruction!

For Earth’s future he will be of service, meow!

Mew Cherry (Mew Chēri)

Mew Cherry is the hero identity of Ace Trappola, mixed with the Borneo Bay Cat. He is part of the basketball team at his school and is classmates with Yuui, his secret crush. He lives alone with his parents, since his older brother went to study abroad which he plans to do after finishing high-school. Whenever he gets

Mew Strawberry (Mew Ichigo)

Mew Strawberry is the hero identity of Riddle Rosehearts, mixed with the Red-headed Crane. He is Student Body President from his who grade and could be described as the top of his school. He holds back his adoration for the actor and model Vil Schoenheit, as his confidence and unwavering fearlessness, which he hopes to embody himself. Whenever he gets angry, his feathers ruffle and appear.

Mew Plum (Mew Ume)

Mew Plum is the identity of Epel Felmier mixed with the Axolotl. He goes to a prestigious academy for talented and gifted students, however his expenses are covered by a deal his family have made with the school. His family are farmers and money doesn’t grow on trees, this has not exactly helped him fit in with all these rich kids snobs.

Mew Cinnamon (Mew Keihi)

Mew Cinnamon is the hero identity of Kalim Al-Asim mixed with the Red Panda. He comes from a wealthy family, having gotten anything and everything he could wish for. However, this has also made him kind of detached from his peers around him. On the outside, he is just a boy who performs on the streets with acrobatics and dangerous stunts, because that way he feels more connected to the people around him.

Mew Saffron (Mew Safuran)

Mew Saffron is the hero identity of Vil Schoenheit mixed with the Monarch Butterfly. He is a supermodel and idol, an international icon who built his way to the near top. It is only near because he faces a constant one-sided rivalry with the one and only Neige Leblanche for that top spot. He comes off kind and confident on the outside, but behind closed doors, there is more to his goals than fame and attention. When jealousy and envy spark, his antennas pop out.

Common traits for the Mews are:

Whenever they feel a violent or extreme version of certain emotions, their animal characteristics will pop out.

All of them transform thanks to a pendant, which is gifted by Idia or Grimuu.

The Alien Agents

Agent Parfait

A young agent sent on his third mission within just his first starting months. He is a quite the personality compared to the rest of his roster, as he is quite fascinated with Earth as it stands now. He has taken quite the fascination to the human, Ace Trappola after having watched him from behind the scenes. His plans are bold and he wastes no time with putting them into action if he deems it’s right.

Agent Tiramisu

An agent who has been with the agency as soon as he turned 14. Due to his acquired talents in persuasion and manipulation, he tends to let his plans simmer beneath the surface until the time to strike is right. However, he does indulge in the occasional gamble. He is goal-oriented, as he seeks to achieve freedom through the success of this mission.

Agent Financier

An agent, who with an exceptional mind of genius who was allowed into the program at age 12. His heart having been frozen over since then, which makes him the most calculating of the three. He never leaves anything to chance, always making sure the odds are in his favor before striking. During his time at the agency, he had become quite technologically advanced, which is helped by additional appendages he can call forth with needed.

Each of the agents serve a government agency lead by their savior: Yatus Uultar in order to reclaim earth.
