This is probably the most information I've submitted in a relatively accessible form. This must come so out of left field for people who thought Ego was, idk, functioning? But her whole arc is a mess, this is technically just *this* particular part of her development.

Redraw from 2023 of an old character I’ve had since I was 13. Marya of the Akamen, former spy turned warrior general.

The scenario displayed is one where her town was attempted besieged by the Big Bad. At this time, Marya was heavily pregnant. Not wanting the confrontation with the antagonist to pass her by, she self-induces birth. After attempting to deliver and realizing she’s running out of time, she cuts herself open to remove the baby herself. With the midwives taking care of the newborn and additionally helping her stitch herself up, she drapes herself in whatever she can find and draws her sword, ready to face down the man trying to conquer her people.

How I ever managed to consider her lover, generic prince Aaron, a more suitable protagonist, I’ll never know. Oh wait, that was probably a result of fearing Marya was a Mary Sue or something. Oh, the horror. s/

2023 sketchdump, part 6 - Treasure Planet, Dragon Quest, Semi-original

Traditional sketches of tentacle-haired sirens. Definitely had the scene in mind from The Little Mermaid where Ariel sings the Part of Your World Reprise as Eric wakes up. Also inspired by The Sinking City, just in general. "Mair take you" and all that :'D

Some practice drawing Luminary from Dragon Quest 11. The top left one is referenced from the game, the rest are some stylistic variations.
