I am reminded of how popular WTNV has been on Tumblr and on no other website bc I made a "waiting for the bus in the rain and the bus is late" joke on Sunday in the group chat when I was waiting for the bus in 33°C weather on my way to the drag show and the bus was indeed 8 minutes late and nobody seemed to understand the reference

Last night, at my first drag performance, I collected $10 in tips
One of the tips came from someone who stuck the five dollar bill (I live in Canada, we tip in multiples of five) in their bra for me to grab
If I knew them or if it was suitable for the song, I wouldn't mind
This happened during Girl With One Eye by Florence + The Machine and it was a total stranger
Not knowing what to think, I took it, but I started considering it after I was done lipsynching, and I realized it was inappropriate for the person to do that
In the future, I will be rejecting tips that come like this
Please don't be like this person
If you don't know how to give us our tips, just calmly holding it out/up until we reach you is completely fine

Lol so I'm a doorknob and left my phone at the bar last night
Every post I posted between now and then was either scheduled or queued
Miraculously my phone was at 12% even though it was fairly drained before I left the bar and my medication reminders would have been going off a significant amount of the time

ID: Two screenshots of BlueSky posts by Lauren @ laurenkayes.bsky.social with text reading: ""Immunocompromised people shouldn't be gathering in large groups anyway" is making me cry today, man. They're saying the quiet part out loud and the only people I see really making noise about this are those of us who will be completely shut out of public life is these bans go through"
"If you haven't been masking in public since 2021 please mask the fuck up in solidarity. We've been begging for years and everything we've said would happen has happened and is happening bc you'd rather disappear disabled people than listen to us when we see the fascist warning signs"

friendly reminder for those on antidepressants that you have an increased risk of heat stroke this summer so please stay hydrated and wear a hat, invest in one of those cool pads and be careful during long walks outside!

excessive heat and antipsychotics
Where I live, temperatures during the summer can reach “triple digits,” or over 100 °F (37 °C). We had our first triple digit weather of the year just last week, and it’s only going to get hotter as we progress further into summer.
Something I learned only a few years ago is that some medications, including antipsychotics, can affect your body’s ability to regulate heat. Meaning that those who take these meds are more at risk of life-threatening, heat-related illnesses such as hyperthermia or heat stroke.
If you’re on psych meds and live in an area known for extreme heat or humidity, please do your very best to stay as cool as possible. Keep plenty of water with you, try to stay in cool and shaded areas, wear loose-fitting and lightweight clothing, and familiarize yourself with the signs and symptoms of heat-related illnesses. (These are things everyone should do but I wanted to emphasize it for psychiatric medication users specifically because of our impaired ability to regulate our body temperature. But I want everyone to stay safe in hot weather.)
Here are some links to some helpful information I found, from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control And Prevention*
Preventing Heat-Related Illnesses
Symptoms of Heat-Related Illnesses
Heat and Medications (intended for clinicians but has useful info for patients as well)
Risk Factors of Heat Stress (PDF/infographic intended for workers)
*Note that because this is a U.S. based organization that they will use Fahrenheit for temperature. I recommend using google search to convert units of measurement.
