I have 15+ plants, I don’t even have a favorite books just a bunch I enjoyed, always sending family and friends postcards notes and letters, former musician where my house is littered with instruments I don’t regularly play
this is the "how alike are we"-bingo tag game from 2 years or so ago, but this time it's:

Hello everyone I thought I’d tell y’all about myself since I’m reviving this blog
I am currently a second year university student studying elementary education and I want to teach English abroad.
I bullet journal, write to my penpals, and use my diary and art journal as a tool for coping with my mental health.
English is my first language but I’m also studying Spanish,Arabic, and Hebrew
I was raised Jewish but not born into it so I’m currently converting.
I have a chinchilla that I’m raising.
I’m a pescatarian and my favorite food is sushi
My favorite color is pink and pastels hence the blog theme
My favorite stationary are stickers they’re all over everything I own.
I enjoy anime, adult cartoons, YouTube, and movies.
I make jewelry and run a depop shop
I own so many house plants it’s insane
I collect crystals, mini animal figures (mainly cats), and anything Sanrio.

Resources to Get You Through the School Year!
I struggle with finding a list of resources to use during the school year, and I find that these help a lot for me when I procrastinate my time away…
As a sophomore in high school, my favorites include:
1) Castle Learning
If you’re lucky enough (but also unlucky at the same time) to have a teacher use castle learning, take advantage of it! the self - studying choice is so great to review for tests in class or exams. The program will give you options for what chapter or unit to study from too. the only downside is that my teacher gave us 300 questions per week.
2) Hemingway Editor
This website is perfect for essays. It underlines all issues with your essay and analyzes your writing level and words you use too often. its a great way to check for passive tone.
3) Localingual
The page opens to a picture of a map. By clicking each of the countries, you can hear phrases and names of countries and capitals in both female and male voices. Be weary user - submitted audios. This resource is perfect for language learning or getting familiar with popular AND unpopular languages. You can even hear the country’s national anthem!
4) Symbolab
This graphing calculator works well when your’s is dead, and also has a color feature for each of the lines. You can save your graphs.THE WEBSITE GETS EVEN BETTER BECAUSE you can have a different, normal calculator for all different kinds of maths (Algebra, Trig, even Chemistry) with steps. IT DOESN’T STOP THERE THOUGH: you can even use a NOTEBOOK to keep tracks of topics and problems. It also has a group feature for working together and cheat sheets.
5) Pinterest
Not only can it present you with recipes to help you eat healthy, it can also give you tips on how to take exams and understand them (SAT vs. ACT), it can also give you more studyblr inspiration and tips for writing essays. For language learners, it gives great resources of words or phrases that are updated.
6) Youtube
You can find how-to’s, PBS Crash Courses in several subjects (the Chemistry series is by Hank Green and the Literature and US History series is by John Green and they’re my favorites). Tons of information can be found for every subject, just make sure you don’t get distracted!
7) Wolfram Alpha
This is so good for all subjects and has endless information all subjects! Great for trying to understand an aspect of a lesson, too.
8) RefMe
This is great for helping writing your citations! I use this v often too. Not much to say about this, but it’s pretty simple.
9) Spotify/Podcast sites or apps
For spotify, you can find white noise or lofi music that you wouldn’t find on apple music. There’s a student discount for premium (50% off). Podcats are great for expanding your knowledge or getting in the know for politics, and Spotify has some smaller ones too! Spotify actually has great language ones too.
10) Google Docs/Google Keep/Google Drive/Google Photos
THE BEST APPS FOR DOCUMENTS. These are all free with a Google account (god bless) and they give you 15 GB of free storage, and you can upgrade.They all sync automatically across all devices, too. When I’m on my phone, I can easily edit a document, which is great when it’s due that day (THAT’S SAVED ME SO MANY TIMES TOO). I love these apps sm.
Hope these help you guys, let me know if any of them saved you! I know the social media ones were pretty obvious but you never know! Reblog if used!

no idea what to do after school?
If you too are a stressed high school or college student with no idea what you want to do in the future, here is a fun way to maybe get an idea of what could be right for you!
A while ago I discovered this app that is basically multiple well-known personality tests combined with a new spin that help you discover more about yourself! It “classifies” you as three types of personas, and in my case, they match so well!! You can also compare yourself with friends and see how much more of an introvert you are (high-five to my fellow introverts) or see what traits you have in common! This also works with a whole company - so if you always wanted to know if Google would be the right place for you in terms of work-ethic and approach, here you go! They recently added a new feature allowing you to see how well you work together with a group of other people. So if you just got assigned a new group project (ugh) you could check and see with whom you have the most similar approach to stuff like that!
The app is completely free (thank god), so give it a try here and tell me if you like it!

Hi Emma! Im thinking of buying a cute journal to write in this summer. Any thoughts of what I could do in it? (Besides writing a story or write about my day) Thanks!
Hello! Here are a few things you could do:
diary (as you said): log your day, write what you did, just a record of your day-to-day happenings
story (as you said): write down all the stories!!
bullet journal: note down all your daily to-do and focus on getting them done!
gratitude journal: write down things you’re grateful for each day and why
365 journal: write down a sentence a day. Could be a quote you like, an event that happened, a funny moment or something!
dream log: write down your dreams and maybe research their meaning!
review journal: if you see and movie or read a book write down your thoughts!
photo a day journal: make a daily scrapbook/photo album
expense tracker: note each thing you spend your money (you could track everything or just the things you treat yourself on)
goals journal: set yourself a goal and try to map out how you will achieve over a certain amount of time! Record how well you’re doing!
recipe book: write down ingredients and an easy step-by-step guide so you can always make something to eat
dashboard notebook: a little book that is kind of a hub of your life such as important emergency contacts, accounts names/passwords/emails, etc
tv show tracker: note down each season and cross of episodes as you go. You could also write down important parts of each episode so you can be reminded of what you’ve seen.
inspiration/mood-book: print off photos, quotes, random bits and bobs that you find inspiration
gift log: write down the birthdays, anniversaries, holidays of your friends and note down any ideas you might think they’d like as a gift. If they ever say “I love that!” then make a note of what it is and where to get it so you can get later!
wishlist journal: take note of things you’d like to buy over the year!
happiness journal: make a scrapbook of things that make you happy - could be photos, quotes, events, people, etc
monthly overview, goals and reflection: each month write down things that happened and how you felt
project/assessment book: plan out all your school or university assignments such as due dates, word count, to-dos, questions, citations, etc
‘fuck that’ book: when you’re angry or annoyed by something, write it down, rant about until your hearts content!
your own wreck this journal - you can Google to see what I mean but make your own version. Either you come up with ideas or maybe get a friend to write down cool things to do.
magazine clipping journal - if you see anything you like, cut it and stick it in. For me, I’d maybe do street style or runway fashion!
swatch book: whenever you get some new pens, make a swatch board of them!
friendship journal: you and your friend(s) could make a book where you write down things you like about each other, places you go to together, photos you take, etc. Maybe pass it around each week and you can all review what you’re doing!
travel log: even if you aren’t travelling far or overseas write down where you go and what it was like. Write down places you’d like to visit or things you’d like to see!
doodle book: just a book full of random drawings, sketches, etc
writing prompts: find some writing prompts that you’d like to continue and get writing!
receipts book: stick in all the things you spend your money on either to track or just out of curiosity!
flower press log: a cool way to save any pretty plants you find!
scrapbook: put in some of your favourite things in there! You could maybe do them for your friends for cute, personalised gifts!
handwriting practice: take time to practice your lettering, caligraphy or just normal handwriting!
habit tracker: do a ‘don’t break the chain’ kind of thing to either create or break your habits!
Hope that gives you some ideas! x

50 Reasons Why You Should Study
Need motivation?
To get an education.
To earn a degree. There are barely any jobs that offer positions to people without a degree, or are on the path of obtaining one.
To prove people wrong. That science teacher that said you’ll never make it in the medical field? Make him eat his words.
To prove yourself wrong. Every student has doubts on whether or not they can be good enough in the classroom. Prove yourself wrong, and always be better than you were yesterday.
This is a privilege. Regardless of how much you believe that you HAVE to do this, to some extend you don’t. Realize that you have the privilege of an education even being an option for you.
Take advantage of what you’re capable of. Don’t waste a perfectly intelligent mind.
More money. That degree can do wonderful things to your bank account in the future.
It’s interesting. Studying can get pretty boring, but there are always those topics that spark your curiosity and motivate you to learn more.
It’s attractive. Not everyone cares for someone who is academically gifted, but a partner who is eager to learn makes me eager to take my pants off.
It’s useful. That random fact that you read in a random textbook can stick with you and really end up helping you out one day.
It’s fun to know useless shit sometimes.
To make your parents proud. This is one of the main reasons I study. My parents have always been aware of my capabilities and have pushed me to be academically better every year. They know I have big dreams, and I just want to achieve them so they can know that their child made it.
To make myself proud. This goes along with number four. Knowing that you accomplished something, however small or big the thing may be, is a huge self-esteem booster.
To be independent. There’s nothing quite like knowing that you don’t need someone else’s job, degree, intelligence, or presence to make you successful.
To pursue your passion.
To gain knowledge. Whether its in your field, or a completely different one, being knowledgeable is just downright fun.
People will look up to you. Your siblings, your best friends, and your classmates may see you consistently studying, and it could motivate them to do the same.
To make a name for yourself. “Oh yeah, (insert name here), I know them. Aren’t they like really successful now?”
To become your own role model.
To be able to pay off your student loans.
Because the long nights and excessive coffee will all be worth it. Even if it doesn’t seem like it now.
To exercise your brain. Your brain is just like a muscle, and like the body it needs to be exercised.
To improve your hippocampus. Your hippocamus is responsible for memory, and if you study your memorization will become significantly better.
To not waste time doing useless stuff.
Because stationary is amazing. I could spend a whole paycheck on just pens.
Because notes are actually all so pretty.
To be productive. I used to spend a lot of time on social media, and although I still do, the amount of time I spend studying and getting stuff done has definitely increased.
So classes will be easier.
So tests will be easier.
To impress your professors. Get those letters of recommendation!
So the anxiety of getting a bad grade is sufficiently decreased. I constantly worry about my grades, but studying has helped me not worry so much.
Because coffee exists.
There is no other atmosphere quite like the inside of a library.
So you won’t have to retake a class. Failing a prerequisite for your major really sucks, so maybe try not failing the first time around. This also saves you a lot of money because you won’t have to pay for the class again.
Finals week won’t suck as bad. You’ll be used to studying so when finals week comes around it wont nearly be as stressful as for those students who are now opening a textbook.
You won’t go to as many college parties. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for socializing and having fun, but a lot can go wrong at a college party very quickly. And there’s no better way to prevent that, than just not going to the party cause you’re reading your economics textbook.
You’ll get used to FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. Every teenagers nightmare. Eventually, you’ll get used to the feeling.
You’ll be getting the most out of your college experience. You’re paying for these classes. Might as well try your best to pass.
You’ll get used to not getting enough sleep. So, if you decide to go to grad school you’ll have that department covered.
There’s really good study music out there.
I guarantee there will be at least 5 places on campus, or around you that are perfect for studying, and you’ll want to go there everyday.
You’ll become a pro at writing essays, or lab reports.
You’ll learn fairly quickly that study groups rarely work.
You’ll make a lot of friends that are just as passionate about studying as you are. And you will cherish them.
Beauty and Brains. Don’t you want to fit that description?
Thousands of students before you have done it, so you can too.
You can run a studyblr. Aren’t they the cutest?
You get really good at time management.
Sleep becomes 5x more satisfactory after a night of studying.
Because you want to. There’s no better motivation for studying, than the motivation that comes from within.

How to start a studyblr blog
One of the most common questions I am asked is how to start and run a studyblr. Some people consider being a studyblr means having a selection of certain pens or highlighters but that isn’t the case. Having a studyblr is about being part of a community that promotes self-improvement, positive study habits and tips to help yourself and others reach their full potential. Below are a few steps I recommend when starting a studyblr:
1. Decide whether you’re going to start a new blog or a secondary blog. Most studyblrs, myself included, run main blogs and then a studyblr as a side blog. If you’re wanting to have a completely new account, follow only studybrs, message (via asks) with a link to your studyblr then it is best to create a new account. If you’re happy to continue on one account, then creating a side blog is a good option. However, when you use a secondary blog for your studyblr, it will follow as your main account. I prefer having my studyblr as a secondary blog since you can stay logged into one account (so much easier on mobile!). Plus if you wanted to run a collaboration blog, you can add other members. Here is so more detailed information about the differences.
2. Pick a username/URL. You can be super creative like me and just use your name! Otherwise, you can name your studyblr anything you want. Whilst most people have a study related username, that isn’t totally necessary. Find something you like and use it! You do have the option to change it later on it you’re unhappy or think of something better.
3. Choose a theme. My best advice for a theme is pick something that is easy to navigate and nice to look at! Editing HTML can be quite difficult for first time Tumblr users, however many themes make adjusting the appearance of your theme really simple by using the tools on the customise page. Some popular theme makers include:
@pohroro
@modernisethemes
@cyantists
@magnusthemes
@sorrism
@acuite
@themesbyflorels
@roxiestheme
@felinum
@bychloethemes
@wonderfullythemes
Once you’ve picked a theme, follow the instructions the theme maker has left in the caption of the post. When you’re using a theme, remember to leave credit visible to the owner. By removing credit you’re breaking the conditions set by the creator.
4. Make an icon. This is relatively optional. Most studyblrs just use a random picture for their icon however others create personalised ones just for their blog. You can create your own icon using applications like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva or Word/Pages. Canva is probably the easiest way to make your own, plus it is free! If you’re looking for something a little fancier, you can commission @annistudio to make one! Depending on the level of complexity, she charges between $3-9. She created my icon and it is so amazing!
5. Write up an introductory post. Once your blog is up and running, you should create a post to introduce yourself. Tell us a little bit about yourself, where you’re from, what you’re studying, your hobbies, etc. It is always nice to tag some of your favourite studyblrs! If someone has mentioned me or tagged #emmastudies in their post, I might see it and reblog it. Most blogs do the same! Making these posts will hopefully get you some new followers!
6. Post your own content. A great way to promote your blog is to upload your own posts. This can be anything, either pictures of your notes, advice posts, or infographics! Remember to update the content source and click-through links when uploading your posts. A little guide to taking photos can be found here. My editing process can also be found here. If you upload your own tips posts, feel free to submit them to @studyblrmasterposts.
7. Use popular hashtags. Before publishing your post remember to add hashtags. The most popular ones include #studyblr, #studyspo, #study. I track the tag #emmastudies so include that in your tags and I’ll see it! Most blogs also track their usernames so tag some of your favourites.
8. Join studyblr networks. You’ll often see these floating around Tumblr so if you see one, join it! There are ones dedicated to people graduating in a specific year, others for specific majors, or people who share a common trait/hobby! Alternatively, you can be added to my studyblr directory. It is a collection bloggers which can be filtered by categories such as education level, country, and exam system. You can apply here.
9. Use the queue option. By using the queue option, you don’t have to come on Tumblr every day to stay active. Set up a queue, select the number of posts and when you’d like them to be published and you’re ready to go. This option is great if you’re having a bit of an off-week and don’t fancy coming online or aren’t able to access the Internet!
10. Use other social media platforms. Whilst studyblr originated on Tumblr, we have since diversified across numerous different social networks. I’d totally recommend having a studygram! Mine is @emmastudiess if you wanted to check it out! Other accounts have YouTube (emma studies), Snapchat (@emmastudies), Spotify, Twitter, etc. Remember to provide links to your each account!
11. Be nice, friendly and polite. I think this is the golden rule for any blogger. Treat everyone with respect. Be kind when answering questions. Be grateful for your followers. Please, please, please don’t send anonymous hate! If you receive it, remember to delete and block that person. The studyblr community is one of the nicest I’ve come across and we want to keep it that way.
12. Don’t be afraid to message other blogs and start a friendship! Interact with other accounts by sending them an ask or a direct message. I cannot begin to tell you how many wonderful people I’ve connected with from the studyblr community. I’d say the majority of studyblrs love receiving messages and would be happy to strike up a friendship with you!
I hope this can inspire you to start a studyblr or helps you set one up! Remember you can tag me in your introductory posts or uploaded pictures. Also, my ask and direct messages are always open if you want to chat xx

100 Reasons to Study:
I never expected this “reasons to study” thing to get so many submissions, and as it takes me so long to post them all, I decided to do a bulk post of some so here they are:
(If I haven’t included a url, it was submitted by an anon).
To prove people that “bad” students can become excellent students too.
To expand your knowledge of the world.
To look back on your success in ten years time. (Submitted byadxlastudies)
To not let my mental illness define my grades. (Submitted bymusicandmaths)
I study because I am privileged enough to have the opportunity. I study because I have no one getting in my way telling me I can’t. I study because I want to do some real good in this world. I study because I live in a country where being female has no significant disadvantage; and so, I take this opportunity so that I may make future opportunities for those who don’t have them. (Submitted by crimson-voltaire)
My reason for studying is how I’ll get to where I want to be in my life which is successful, comfortable, and happy.
I study to make my mum happy and proud.
I study to prove my anxiety wrong!
I study because I want to save lives.
I study because my grandpa, orphaned during WWII when he was 8, worked 4 days a week in a mine to learn for 2 days. He’s retired after 40 years of working in diplomacy, for the last 5 years as an ambassador. He’s my role model. And I love him so much.
I study because my primary school teacher from when I was 6 replied “Well who would think that?” when my mother informed her I was going to university. I study so I can tell her “Why would you not think that?”
I study because I want to give myself the best future I possibly can as a black woman. (Submitted by n-marlzz)
I study because my dreams are improbable. But not impossible. I will achieve them. (Submitted by redheadbecool)
I study because even though I can’t imagine having a future, I want one. (Submitted by stxdys)
I study so that I can be surrounded by the right people at school, at home, at work, and on Tumblr. You can only walk the path that you choose for yourself, so choose wisely. Pave your path with bricks, not straw.
I study because last year I was in a mental hospital for young people and I discovered that I want my death to mean something.
