headcanon that vanessa shelly enjoys watching scary movies for the same reason noelle holiday does. they do scare her, sometimes badly, since she’s by no means fearless, but after the immediate scare is over comfort sets in because the horror is contained to the screen and if it gets to be too much she can just, you know, turn it off and then it’s over. it’s the feeling of being completely in control over the situation that brings her peace. she’s kind of a total horror flick nut and frequently rents any and every horror movie she can get her hands on. they even help her sleep, depending on how formulaic they are. the sharp stings of the score during a the buildup of a murder scene would make most people jump, but instead the predictability makes vanessa feel secure.

mike really loved watching horror movies as a teenager for similar reasons, even though he finds it a little weird how relaxing vanessa finds them now. he’ll always be down to watch one with her, but he’s more of a scare junkie in that he really likes the adrenaline of a really good scare. he likes to dissect the directing choices of a movie and how the directors worked to make it authentic. he’s a closet film nerd.

That man was 100% in on stealing everything they could from Edwin and if he felt any sort of remorse, he sure as hell didn’t show it. Not to mention the whole neglectful father, neglectful husband, might have been in on all of the experiments Will was doing while ‘researching’ the agony remnant thingy, building an electric chair of a prison to contain his daughter’s spirit-

Possible Secret of the Mimic spoilers regarding William and Henry (and Edwin)

So, some people are like “William and Henry didn’t create Fredbear and Springbonnie” when, in my point of view, is more likely that they commissioned Edwin to build more of them just like you would commission an artist to draw your oc, they more than likely did original sketches and schematics and stuff like that.

After Edwin died under ‘mysterious circumstances’, they just picked up where he left off/ redid the entire thing (which is why Edwin’s springlock version was in some ways more resistant than the duo’s version, that failed with a bit of water)

Now, it just occurred to me that maybe this whole commissioning Edwin in the first place might have been also a way for William to diminish Henry. I mean, they both were engineers but Henry was the more talented one between both of them, and William was equally envious of him as he was ‘enamoured’ (metaphorically or literally, you decide).

So, by taking away most of Henry’s work for ‘financial reasons’, William shifts the balance of their relationship and asserts himself as the more important one.

Am I going crazy over this Vanessa Afton crumbs? Yes. Yes I am.

People have already pointed out about the details on photographs, so let me point out something obvious-

They are both wearing the same colours (or almost the same colours), which seems to be a shade of deep dark purple.

Whether this scene is going to be a flashback or some sort of hallucination (very fun either way), I feel that one of the themes is going to be ‘sins of the father’, with Vanessa being afraid of being too much like her father (and maybe the same with Mike if his dad really is Henry) (that makes their possible romance very funny in my eyes)

Anyways, I’m just happy to be living at the same time as this character, and I can’t wait to see her angst
