The thing is that like “edgy humour” really is a GIANT red flag among young white men……you hear white boys making racist jokes all the time but people tend to brush it off and assume they’ll grow out of it or that they’re just going through a harmless edgy humour phase and like…..some of them might grow out of it but that’s not the POINT! They’re racist NOW! They’re spreading islamophobic ideas NOW and we brush it off because we assume they’ll grow out of it in the future but whether they do or not is irrelevant; they need to grow out of it Right. Now. with the tags and search officially being completely broken on all platforms (no new posts are showing up in them anymore), now feels like a good time to remind everyone that the only way to help creators is to reblog their stuff. even before the tags were busted most people found new creators through their content being rebloged onto their dash, and now, at least for the time being, that will be the Only way to find and spread things.

Fast reblog is a thing, you dont have to leave comments, you dont have to leave tags, just reblog stuff if you want to keep seeing new content being posted to this site.

and as a final note, with this change likes are officially completely pointless for content creators. up till now they served to boost a posts placement in the tag searches (a post tagged #girl with 40 likes would show up higher in the search than a post tagged #girl with only 10 likes,)

The ‘Christmas Flower’ Is Mexican

What does poinsettia mean and where is this flower originally from?

The name poinsettia refers to Joel Roberts Poinsett, an American diplomat who brought the flower to the United States from Mexico in the 1820s. It was later commercialized and is now commonly known as the “Christmas Flower” or “flor de Nochebuena.”

However, this flower’s original Nahuatl name is Cuetlaxochitl or “withering flower.”

The Cuetlaxochitl has been used as ornamentation and as a dye for millennia. Native to what is currently the Mexican states of Sinaloa, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas, it has also been used in traditional medicine to cure fevers and in helping mothers produce breast milk.

The Cuetlaxochitl is another of Mexico’s gifts to the world.

Just had an interaction with a white pagan who came onto a post about Judaism to talk about how all the “Abrahamic” religions are the same and have been colonizing the world and converting everyone, and that she holds Judaism partially responsible for this because she holds it responsible for the creation of Christianity. Nevermind that Jews have been on the receiving end of that particular brand of Christian violence and oppression for centuries.

Countless times I’ve seen white pagans take their hatred of Christianity and jam it together with their ancestral antisemitism that they have never bothered to unpack, and come out with some truly obnoxious takes. White pagans, you need to be having serious conversations about this in your communities.

So I managed to watch the first 15 minutes of Hawkeye today, and I am so unbelievably pissed off.

This show is STEEPED in David Aja’s style.

The opening credits are a replica of his work.

There’s a moment where Kate pulls back her bow, and time slows. You can hear her heartbeat and the snowflakes move in slow motion.

Just like this panel set.

It gave me the exact same feeling.

And I was so pissed.

Because David Aja isn’t even credited in the show. Because David Aja wasn’t even payed.

And worse yet, it seems they didn’t even offer him the bullshit $5,000.

Marvel misuses their artists, writers and creators.

Disney is full of greedy assholes.

David Aja and Matt Fraction are beyond skilled, and Disney blatantly ripped off David’s entire style from the font to the coloring. And they ripped Matt’s story straight from the pages. It’s a carbon copy of their work.

Creators deserve to be compensated fairly for their work.

Marvel makes billions, they can afford to properly honor comic creators.
