Seriously wtf. Like, the way ppl were so quick to bring up "dirt" from his past too. Like... your racism is showing. The way so many ppl came to defend Shane, the only white guy in the trio. Even Ryan got some hate thrown at him. Like, guys, you need to have a serious talk with yourself because that's not okay.

so are watcher fans going to apologize for the unreal amounts of racism they projected toward steven or are we going to pretend that was totally normal behavior?

One thing that keeps confusing me is that they claim ghost files costs several hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode. I’ve tried to wrap my head around this ever since the announcement because flying a crew of 6 or so people out for two days and renting out the location COULD NOT be costing that much unless they’re either lying or blowing money on first class flights and expensive food/accommodations and even THEN do I not see them breaking 200k on a single episode. Dear lord hire an accountant I’m half convinced someone’s laundering money

I dont like moistcritikal at all so didn't know abt this info before reading this. But reading this made realisation hit me like a freight train. They do ad reads every episode, they sell fucking merch, the HAVE A GOD DAMN PATREON. YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR FANS PAYING YOU OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF THEIR OWN HEARTS. MAYBE YOUR FINANCIAL ISSUES LIE WITH YOU.

I watched Charlie MoistCritikal’s video on the Watcher drama and he definitely has some good insight considering he runs a company that helps creators get sponsorships, and finding out that with their subscriber & view counts they probably get $15,000-$30,000 per ad read was like the final nail in the coffin for me. So they make $100k a month on patreon + an ad read a week + ad revenue + merch sales? Maybe slow down on making new shows. Cultivate what you have. Maybe remaking worth it… isn’t worth it.

Seriously. STOP coddling fully grown men because you thought they could never hurt you. I'm upset too, EXTREMELY upset. The fact that the people behind my fun ghost show and puppet show are making an incredibly greedy, classist move hurts. But you can't excuse them for it and blame the person you don't have significant emotional attachment to. We call that denial.

Okay can we stop acting like Shane and Ryan are hostages? They are grown men and this is their company too. Even if Steven is the driving force, they are supporting this with their full chests. Ryan said it’s the “right thing to do” and Shane had the professor say “ well why not?” Which is every bit as tone deaf as Steves “ everyone and anyone can afford it”

C'mon don't be losers, instead of doing Watcher subscription giveaways just literally buy esims for Gaza or donate to non-profit charities like Care for Gaza, which actually help affected Palestinians and deliver food and other necessities to them. There's also a bunch for Sudan like the one set up by the ICRC. Don't give $6 just for a man to eat expensive shit on camera when that $6 can do so much for an entire nation of starving people.

Tbh, I dont even feel happy at the idea of watching anything new they make anymore. It just feels tainted to me. Even if I were to get it for free or pirate it, I know I won't enjoy it. There's no fun in it anymore, when everyone can't freely experience it.
