Guayaba/IF

Cuando la semana me magullaba un aliento fresco como una brisa leve  me despertó con un suspiro,  y paso a paso me detuve  para contemplar donde me hallaba;  Un día preciso una dulce nube dejaba caer sus lágrimas breves,  pero entre mis largos pasos admiro lo poco que me mojaba;  Así entre respiros estuve mientras un fervor desconocido me empujaba, Cuando frente a mí te tuve la tarde se fue volando de un tiro, esa tarde en la que al tiempo no contuve he sentido tu mirar como una llama, acogedora y ardiente, y yo mis ojos cerraba para sentir tu mirar cerúleo que a mi piel se impregnaba, esa tarde a la que detener no pude, quisiera beber contigo un  jugo de guayaba…

Perhaps, if I write these words down they would retreat,

abandon me,

and maybe these thoughts would too desert me,

and these growing feelings would not invade me,

I know I disappointed you by revealing I do not walk alone;

Perhaps my mind would cease to wonder; perhaps my neurones would stop fabricating scenarios, possibilities, opportunities,

igniting,

Perhaps if I suffocate the flames, they won't grow any higher,

Perhaps sanity will hit me while piling up these sentences;

Perhaps if I don't think you, I would stop rewinding our encounters,

Perhaps I need to stop, thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking, the way his vitreous cerulean eyes fall on my skin, the way they caress my countenance, while this damn coffee table lies misplaced between us,

While the public surrounds us,

while we pretend to talk about some…office work
