A/N: Day 26's prompt in @creativepromptsforwriting 30-Day Writing Challenge is to write a story with the title Like Waves in the Ocean. @coffeeheartaddict2 had sent a request to write this for Tobias & Casey, and - admittedly - I was stumped! I hope you like the outcome, Tash - I went a little angsty!
Book: Open Heart Pairing: Tobias Carrick x Casey MacTavish (F!MC) Rating: Teen Words: 732 Summary: Tobias & Casey share a relationship defining moment by the sea.
Also participating in @choicesmonthlychallenge, prompts: ocean, sun, love, and pink, and @monthlywritingchallenges Just One June prompt: One Last Try.
30-Day Challenge Masterlist | Full Masterlist

Casey sat quietly on the shore, arms wrapped tightly around her knees as she watched the tide roll in. The sky was beginning to fade into pale shades of pink over the Atlantic as the day drew to a close. She tucked her hands into the sleeves of her old NYU sweatshirt as the wind picked up - the great disruptor, tugging relentlessly at her hair, stirring the sand and tangling everything around her until the world felt just like she did inside: unsettled, unmoored, uncertain of what would come next.
She didn’t turn when Tobias made his way down the dune behind her, only shifting slightly to make room when he settled beside her on the sand. He didn’t speak at first – neither of them did – letting the waves and occasional call from a gull overhead provide the soundtrack for a long while. At another time, it might have been soothing, but today, they felt like the outro to a song they never wanted to end.
Tobias finally gathered the courage to speak. “I had a feeling I’d find you here. You always come here when you want everything to disappear.”
“I don’t want everything to disappear,” she said softly. “I just needed space to breathe.”
He nodded. “I get that. Breathing is easier here.”
She glanced at him – barefoot, his shirt sleeves pushed up to his elbows, the ocean light softening his features and making his crystal blue eyes appear even more ethereal – if that was even possible. He looked just like the man she fell in love with... the man she still loved with all her soul. But things had changed; sometimes, she didn’t even recognize them anymore.
It had started subtly, then everything seemed to crash down at once. Stupid fights that seemed to start over nothing at all, always ending with slammed doors and tears. They said things neither wanted to say - things they didn't mean. But they said them anyway – too many times to count.
Her toes curled into the sand when she whispered. “What happened to us, Tobias? How... how did we end up here?”
He didn’t answer right away, staring out at the waves like they held answers he had been longing to find.
“I think we let the current carry us too far out to sea. We just kept drifting, letting it pull us apart without stopping to check that we were still holding hands.”
She felt a lump form in her throat, hot tears sprang to her eyes. “Do you want to find your way back?” she asked nervously. “Do you want to find your way back... to me?”
“Casey,” he sighed, heart aching. “I don’t have to come back. I know things haven't been easy, but don’t you see - I never left you. I never would..”
She turned to him, her heart skipping when she saw a single tear trailing down his cheek. She reached for his hand without hesitation. This was the man she loved – and she knew he loved her in return – but was love still enough?
“I don’t know how to fix us anymore,” she confessed. “I don’t know how to get back to who we were before.”
“You don’t have to fix it, Casey. You don’t fix the ocean,” he smiled, brushing a lock of hair away from her face. “You just learn to swim in it. We can learn to swim together. I know we can.”
A smile tugged at her lips. “That might be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.”
He let out a gentle sigh, a half smile on his lips – he was almost afraid to hope. “It’s just one of my many talents."
She leaned into his side, her head resting on his shoulder as it had a thousand times before. His arm encircled her, and she nearly cried. Here, in his arms, this was her home.
“I miss us,” she croaked. "I miss us so much."
“Hey! We’re still here.” He placed a kiss on top of her head. “We just have to swim a little stronger- hold on to each other a little tighter. But I have no doubt that we can do it. We’ll reach the shore, baby. You and me? We’ll reach the shore – together.”
Casey couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment when it happened, but that didn’t seem to matter. As the two of them sat beneath the setting sun, with the salt air filling their lungs and the waves lapping around them, she felt it coming to life again - the moment she began to believe again.
In the end, they both knew - they were invincible.

One Bed
Pairing: Izuku Midoriya x reader
Genre: Fluff
WC: 445
Event: Just One June by @monthlywritingchallenges
🩷 My Fanfiction & Gif Imagine Masterpost Document
A/N - Definitely not the best thing I've written for Deku, but I still think it's a cute little thing that I came up with! Enjoy!

"Here's your room key." the receptionist says to you and Izuku as she places the key on the counter in front of you.
"Thank you." Izuku smiles before the two of you walk towards the elevator to go to your room for the night.
---
The elevator door opens and you tiredly follow Izuku to your room door.
"I can't wait to just jump into my bed and get some sleep." you say as the door opens and the two of you step inside the room.
"Yeah, I feel exactly the s-" Izuku stops mid-sentence as his green eyes land on the single queen bed in the center of the room.
"There's only one bed?" you question. "I thought we were supposed to get a room with two?"
"We were, y-yeah." Izuku answers with a slight stutter as you see his cheeks turn a light pink. "I-I'll g-go t-t-talk to th-the desk c-clerk, a-a-alright?"
"Alright." you nod as you watch him hurriedly rush out of the room.
-------
About 10 minutes pass before you hear the door open again, causing you to sit up from your spot on the bed as Izuku enters the room.
"What did the clerk say?" you question.
He's bright red and is avoiding your gaze as he answers your question. "W-well, i-it app-appears that..." he clears his throat before pausing for a second before continuing. "It appears that the um... agency just booked this room and the uh, hotel is fully booked out tonight... so there's n-no o-other r-rooms..."
"Oh, well, alright then." you begin. "I can just sleep on the floor t-."
"No!" Izuku exclaims, causing you to look at him which only causes his cheeks to turn an even darker red. "I... I mean, no. I-I'll sl-sleep on the fl-floor, y-you c-can sleep o-on the b-bed."
"No, I can't let you do that Izuku." you say with a shake of your head. "Let's just share the bed tonight."
"N-no it-it's alri-"
You cut him off.
"No, it's not alright for you to sleep on the floor. We have a mission tomorrow and I don't want you all sore in the morning from sleeping on the floor all night."
"Besides, we used to sleep in the same bed all the time while we were younger, so it's not like you haven't shared a bed with me until now."
"I-I gu-guess you-you're r-right." he nods, his cheeks still bright red.
"Well, in that case," you smile before plopping down on the bed face first. "I'm going to sleep."
You hear Izuku chuckle gently behind you before he himself gets into bed next to you, the two of you falling asleep almost immediately.

One Look - K.B.
Pairing: Katsuki Bakugo x fem!reader
Genre: Fluff with a little bit of spicyness 😉😏
Warning(s): this story contains descriptions of Katsuki wanting to f*** the reader (they are brief but Katsuki is not subtle in his want to smexy things with reader), and as such, I am rating this as 15+ story! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
WC: 271
Event: Just One June by @monthlywritingchallenges
🩷 My Fanfiction & Gif Imagine Masterpost Document
ONCE AGAIN, i HAVE RATED THIS STORY AS 15+ ONLY, SO IF YOU ARE YOUNGER THAN 15 YEARS OLD PLEASE DNI WITH THIS STORY EVEN IF THE NSFW DESCRIPTIONS ARE BRIEF! I KNOW THAT I CAN'T STOP YOU FROM READING IT AS I AM NOT YOUR MOTHER, BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

One look.
One look from your fiance of a year, Katsuki Bakugo as you finish up talking to the police officer who's taking the villain with super strength you had defeated into custody is all you need to know that once everything is wrapped up tonight, the two of you are going straight home and he's going to fuck you so hard that you're going to have trouble walking for a week straight.
You know that he's antsy to get you home from just looking at him so you give him a smirk before answering the officer's question about whether or not you think the villain should be taken to Tartarus or not, to which you reply with "Yes. Definitely." before he nods in reply before stepping into his cruiser and driving away with the villain, taking him to Tartarus.
You're about to walk over to Katsuki to let him know that you're all finished up here, only for a strong pair of arms to wrap around your waist from behind you, causing you to smile.
"Are you fucking done yet?" Katsuki's gruff voice asks as he pulls you back into his chest.
"I actually had just finished." you reply as you turn around in his arms, smiling as you meet his ruby red eyes.
"Good." he smirks. "Cause' I'm gonna fuck you so damn hard when we get home that you're gonna have trouble fucking walking for a whole fucking week."
You smirk back at him as you lean forward, your lips merely brushing his as you continue to stare into his eyes. "Oh, I expect as much, Mr. Bakugo."

One Look
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x fem!reader
Genre: Fluff with a hint of angst at the beginning
WC: 353
Event: Just One June by: @monthlywritingchallenges
🩷 My Fanfiction & Gif Imagine Masterpost Document

The prison had fallen nearly a week ago.
You had tried to find Daryl or anyone else from your group to help them get out, but you ended up being surrounded by walkers that you had no other choice but to escape alone.
You had set up camp for the night in the forest, just a few hundred yards away from the train tracks that you've been following the last couple of days, hoping to either run into some of the others if they had made it out of the prison alive, or make it to Terminus and find them there.
All has been quiet for a couple of hours until you hear footsteps coming up behind you, causing you to get up to your feet and whirl around, knife in hand, only to find 4 men staring at you, creepy smiles on their faces.
"Well, well, what do we got here boys?" one of them asks while taking a step closer to you.
"Who are you?" you ask, watching all 4 of them closely, ready to strike if they lunge at you. "What do you want?"
"Claimed!" you hear another voice say from the woods behind the 4 men, causing your eyes to widen at the familiar sounding voice.
That's when you see him come into the firelight.
Daryl Dixon.
He's looking you straight in the eyes as he comes up to the 4 other men.
It's that one look that he gives you.
One look, is all you need to know that the guys you found him with are not good news.
"What the hell are ya claimin' her for?" the man that had spoken earlier asks, glaring down at Daryl. "Ya haven't claimed a damn thing since ya came along."
"None of your damn business why I-"
"Alright, that's enough you two." Another man says, stepping out into the firelight. "She's been claimed by Daryl, and there's nothing you can do about it."
Daryl walks up to you, and gives you that look again.
A look that silently tells you to stick with him at all times, no matter what.

One Bed - K.B.
Gif is not mine!
Pairing: Katsuki Bakugo x fem!pro hero!reader
Genre: Fluff
WC: 291
Prompt/Event: Just One Bed from Just One June by: @monthlywritingchallenges
A/N - I definitely could've done something different with this that would've made it a longer story, but since I'm starting a new job today, I couldn't really do that... I really hope you guys like it though!
🩷 My Fanfiction & Gif Imagine Masterpost Document

"You have got to be fucking kidding me." You hear Bakugo say from inside the hotel room the two of you were going to be staying for the night.
"What is it?" you question as you walk inside the room, your duffel bag in hand.
"There's only one damn bed!" he growls.
He's right.
There is only one bed.
You had originally thought the agency had booked a room with two queens for the two of you like normal, but it looks like they didn't...
"I'm gonna kill those idiots when we get back." you hear him growl which causes you to roll your eyes.
"It's not that big of a deal, besides, we're staying here just for tonight anyway." you say as he turns to look at you with an irritated scowl on his face.
"...Fine..." he agrees hesitantly a moment later before he starts digging into his bag for his pajamas and toothbrush.
******
It takes about 20 minutes for the two of you to get changed and ready for bed.
You exit the bathroom after changing and brushing your teeth to see Bakugo already on the bed, his body tensing up as his ruby red eyes land on you.
You don't want to admit it, but you're kind of nervous about sharing the bed with Katsuki.
Sure, you've known him for a long time, and he's a good friend.
But for the longest time now, there's been a lot of tension between the two of you while not on missions.
You sit on the edge of the bed, getting ready to get under the covers and get some sleep.
"Good night Katsuki."
"...Good night." he replies back as you get under the covers and turn off the bedside lamp.
