Kat Graham was mistreated on TVD!!! And it's a fact!! She deserved better!!

I'm sorry(not really), I don't care how much you love other characters, or how much you love Elena, you should not be out here saying 'Kat was treated just fine' and excusing actions of the creators since they gave your fav a good character arc, when it's a literal fact Kat was mistreated and experienced racism by the creators of the show!! She's even stated it herself!!

Racist actions and mistreatment should never be excused, no matter how much you love a character.

How would you go about rewriting the Sekai Taikei to have Sam as the girls champion rather than Tory? I ask this because I think Sam was more deserving of that finalists spot for several reasons, including:

She's one of the OG teens while Tory debuted in season 2.

Sam had yet to win a trophy.

It would make more sense for there to be one winner from Miyagi-Do and one winner from Cobra Kai.

It would mean that all of Sam's training during seasons 5 and 6 actually amounted to something.

I agree! Honestly, I wouldn't even have been so mad about her losing the Sekai Taikai if she'd been allowed to win the s4 AVT, but like...she didn't. So really, this is a slap in the face on both fronts.

So if I was tasked with just rewriting the Sekai Taikai and nothing else...first of all, I'd give Sam a stronger reason to fight. It kinda seemed in s6 that she didn't have a reason (I forget what exactly she said to Daniel when asked for her drive, but from what I recall, it was very wishy-washy), unlike Miguel, Robby, and Tory. She didn't feel like she had to prove anything, or feel a strong desire to win, etc. People ask why she dropped out, but the fact is...she never had a strong reason to stay in to begin with. So start with tweaking that: she wants to win because she feels like she was robbed of her victory in s4, and she wants to reclaim it. She wants to hold a trophy in her hands like Miguel does, like Tory does. Maybe Tory even offered to give Sam her trophy back, but Sam refused, because she knew it would always say "Tory Nichols" and she wanted one with her name on it. That's why she's fighting.

From there...another thing I would change is Tory's mom dying. Unnecessary tragedy, and also, Sam's emotional high of victory would be dampened by Tory's grief and feeling of failure. So Grace Nichols lives. Maybe she's even in the audience, showing how she's getting better. Tory gets reminded that victory isn't everything - that she will give it her all and fight to the end because that's what she knows how to do, but that even if she doesn't win, she'll be okay. The reason Tory doesn't need that strong desire to win like Sam does is because a) she already has a trophy from a tournament anyway, so it makes sense for her to be content and b) her whole arc throughout the show is about struggling and fighting, so part of what she needs is the reassurance that no matter what, she will be okay. She can rest now. That kind of thing. She will ofc still try, she won't pull her punches for anyone...but it's not a desperate fight for approval like it used to be. She's growing!

So she and Sam fight. Sam wins, as she should've in s4. She holds the trophy high, and Tory lifts her on her shoulders and says "you're alright, LaRusso/Princess!" (because listen, I am not immune to the fanservice siren call if it's done decently). Sam and Tory shake hands and embrace as besties. Maybe Tory is still scouted like she is at the end of s6, or maybe not...but either way, she'll be okay.

(Tory still knocks Zara's teeth out though, not Sam. Tory's the one who threatened Zara with that, so it's only fitting that she be the one to do it)

Bonus: this is not necessarily related, but Robby getting the same injury as KK1 Daniel but not being allowed to recover is such bs. So that doesn't happen. Either he doesn't get the injury, or he does and recovers just like Daniel did. Maybe he wins, maybe he loses...but either way, he gets to fight (personally, I would let him win and earn the trophy, since he hasn't gotten one yet either).

sam, besides being the best female fighter on the show (confirmed, don’t start arguments) is also the most consistent w karate. she’s the only character that only fights w karate. any other teen ends up resorting to brawling or other styles of fighting when violence/anger increases. that’s why she’s my karate kid love u sam

ima go on a small rant here, i think both girls should win the sekai taikai, but I do think it would be a little more right if Sam won

my reason being that during the all valley, despite silver paying the ref, tory still got a trophy while sam had to go home and believe that she had done something wrong or that she was a bad fighter, she had to question herself

both of the girls were cheated out of a win that time

and even though sam won team captain, it wasn't fair because neither of them got to finish the fight, although I do believe that Tory would've seriously injured her if they did continue it

during the sekai taikai, we saw Sam completely destroy tory essentially during all of their fights together during that time, and even though I do like the idea of tory winning, sam is the one female fighter that could really be at Zara's level

Sam trained ever since she was a child, and was taught lessons by Mr miyagi himself, and went under the training of three of the best sensei's in the entire show

while i do think Tory's aggression is what makes her a great fighter along with her skills, sam has technique and experience behind her and she's been really focused throughout the entire tournament

from what I've seen, it seems like Tory and Robby are more focused on each other, while Sam and Miguel generally want to win the sekai taikai

Sam is such an underrated fighter, so I really do hope they make her win because she definitely deserves it after all the trauma she went through (not to say Tory doesn't have trauma, she does!!!)

both girls deserve the win after what they've gone through, but what matters most is where their minds are, and Sam's mind has been there more than Tory has, even when her father was missing, she still fought as well as she could, while Tory got distracted by Robby

im fine with either winning, i just think if sam doesn't win, they should do it in a way that uplifts both characters and doesn't downplay either of them
