When and why and how did this whole ask cas thing start? It’s just so wholesome and helpful and I wanna know the story behind it!!

hahaha well it def wasn't on purpose...

So I reblogged this thing that was like "send me a secret you can't tell anyone"

And then a few people came out to me anonymously, which was so cute! So of course I replied....and then more people did it. And then...more people. It started with a few people a week, to like once a day...and then the asks changed from not just coming out to people asking for advice about coming out, and then asking for advice about gender and sexuality and then things that had nothing to do with that.

And I just kind of went with it, because idk, I really wish I had something like that when I was a kid.

I've always tried to be really clear that I'm NOT a perfect person, I'm not a professional, and my advice might not be the best, but I care. I sometimes get nervous that people think that I think I'm always right and that's why I'm doing it, but I really just want people to know that like...it's important to care.

So yeah, It just kind of snowballed. And I had trouble keeping track, so someone suggested giving anons names and another person suggested tags. And then I started a spreadsheet to keep track, and yeah...it's been over a year now, which is crazy. And now I get like...four-eight advice asks a day! But idk, I feel like spending a half hour a day remind people that someone cares is a nice way to make the world a little less full of hate.
