Happy Monday guys!! Now that we are out of 2017 and have played over and over and over in our minds what we could have done better. It’s time to put those things to work. This year I am determined not to see obstacles just stepping stones to resolutions. I’m going to study my craft more, hustle harder and work even harder but all in a much smarter way. 2018 is a year that we all can make a difference in. It’s a year that we can look at all the “crap” of 2017 and learn from it. Let’s move forward!! No to complacency, no to regression, no to bigotry, no to hate, no to inequality, no to abuse and harassment! We need change in 2018. We need positive thinking and actions in 2018. But if you look at all that has happen in 2017...they were horrific in nature but necessary. They were obstacles that many used as stepping stones to where we are now and where we are heading. So in 2018 don’t see them as obstacles but a means to catapult you (us) to a higher purpose. Love you guys and welcome to 2018!! One thing my father has always taught me was to never forget where I came from. He meant it in several aspects, but mainly your journey through life. Use your successes to get even better but most importantly to use your failures to grow and in the right way. To remember the people that gave you a chance and helped you along the way. To be humble and to always stay hungry. To realize that you are never “there” and there is always room for improvement. And to never slight anyone on your journey. It was and still is such a valuable lesson that I live by. Never forget that journey and the path taken, because when the success starts happening you can smile and say the road there was worth it. But still remember you have more traveling to do. In this day and time, the world is soooooo serious and focus. We find ourselves going through life with blinders on. We are so focused that we have tunnel vision and we are unaware of what’s going on or not going around us. Then we hear from our significant other or our children or family and friends those famous words...”what happened? You are not the same. You don’t know to have fun anymore.” Then we realize that we’ve been so focused on the task at hand, that we have lost sight of family and friends and that we haven’t laughed in a while. That we just don’t have fun anymore. I find myself like that now at time but I was really really like that when I first started photography. I was so focus on trying to get my business up and running that I lost sight of having fun. Now I am more aware and make sure I don’t go down that path again. Believe me, having fun and laughing was a part of my DNA. I’ve always been a jokester. I’ve always had a smile on my face and laughing about something. That was good for my soul. It kept me “young” on the inside and gave me an ab workout at the same time. Just like crying sometimes is good for you, laughter is just the same if not more important. It makes you feel good from the inside out. It makes you feel and see joy when you may need it the most. It eases stress and tension. And it’s a freaking good time!! Now I’m not talking about your occasional chuckle. I’m talking about a full blown, ab straining, mouth wide open, I can’t breathe, tears coming down your face laugh. Try one of those and try not to take life so serious all the time. You will thank me later.
