decided to “quickly reread” my draft and ended up rewriting the entire thing. again. the road to hell is paved with ctrl+s.
#hjgkklhkggjkl please 😂#i actually rewrote the entire _last_ chapter#like i thought i was done and just had to edit stuff when i posted the first chapter and said 'don't worry the fic is done!'#then i got to editing chapter 3 and was like 'nope what is this i don't like this at all fUCK'#and had to rewrite the entire chapter in a hurry because goddammit i'd already procrastinated for 4 years with that fic 😭😭😭#but hey i did manage to rewrite it into something i ended up liking so all was good in the end#after i recovered from the fucking stress of it all 😅#anyway yeah gotta both love and hate writing 🙃

can you believe that we have fanfiction. that we have websites dedicated to fanfiction. that there is a place that you can go and read tens, hundreds, thousands and thousands of pieces of writing that strangers have made. people who are not "writers". people who come home at the end of the day and have feelings and say, i am going to put that into words. i am going to share those words. short, long, sweet, sad, horny, funny, wonderful words. we are all just human and we all love to make and remake and share that with others. can you believe that.

It seems like the older I get, the more irrationally angry casual censorship makes me. And it isn't just the "unalive" "grape" alleged filter-dodging vernacular, but the way normal words will be peppered with asterisks, or screenshots will have words like "gay" "hell" "fuck" etc either partially or entirely blurred. Who is this helping? What is the purpose of it, except to reinforce shame and elevate a flimsy perception of purity and safety, however those things manifest. It's so tiresome and I'm sick of it.
