it wasn’t often that people tried to drum up small talk with her at the park. in fact she’d often been told before that her resting bitch face was usually too off putting. mary turned her head and raised an eyebrow slightly, ❝ the two shining twins over in the corner ― ❞ she nodded her head over in christian and christie’s direction, their matching outfits standing out in the crowd. she didn’t quite understand why the two of them so wanted to go to the park when they spent most of the time huddled together off to the side. she wasn’t going to complain however, it made her job easier.
❝ you ? ❞ mary threw the question back at the stranger with a smile.
she wasn’t sure if it was APPROPRIATE for her to laugh at how she compared her kids to the twins from the shinning. all that’s given is a nervous chuckle , HOPING she wasn’t gonna get offended. though , staring at the twins did seem to send CHILLS down her back. shaking her head and turning to the other woman , a WARM smile subconsciously spreads on her lips. then pointing to her SON who looked like was racing with some other kids up the rock wall.
“ he’s been BEGGING me to bring him to this park. apparently my ex husband’s girlfriend thinks they’re TOO DANGEROUS and UNSANITARY. ” she can’t help but roll her eyes just TALKING about that woman. “ but hey , just another reason why he likes to stay with ME more , right ? ” a hand is offered , “ oh i’m sorry. uhm ------- CHRISTY. ”

One of the things that comedy has given me over the years is a really good ability to laugh at myself and to not take things that don’t matter too much too seriously. I feel that very little offends me anymore and I’m really grateful for that because I think I was a pretty uptight little kid.

she really HATED having to interact with other moms; more often than not , they always somehow made christy feel sorry for herself when she didn’t need to. they’d speak to her with that ANTAGONIZING tone candace always used with her. ‘ oh you’re an ALCOHOLIC and you’ve been sober a whole year ? aw that’s so BRAVE of you. ’ the only reason she doesn’t go nuts on them is because she knows how EMBARRASSING it would be for roscoe.
